Artigiano's nipping at your Backside

After not having been here in a while, we dropped in today for some special coffees. Sad. I am not sure about the food. The coffee is OK. The service is brutal. 15 minute wait for an Americano. We just about walked off the premises. The staff looked disengaged and it seemed like they could care less about the long line of customers as they kidded amongst themselves. With the Artigianos going up right across the street, it will be interesting to see how Delany’s handles this. Will they just let themselves die or will they get some competent staff and at least make a go of it? Artigianos is far superior coffee and service and is also locally owned. I cannot bare the drama My bets are that the once giant Delany’s will come tumbling down due. Their comfort level and arrogance is embedded into their very being. I am not saying that it is a bad thing if we lose this coffee shop. With Starbucks, Delany’s, and an Artigianos all in the same block, the Village can do with one less coffee house.

Great goodies, brutal service

I'ved lived in Edgemont Village for several years and was a fairly frequent patron of Delany's. Their baked goods are outstanding, their specialty coffees are great. Their brewed house blend coffees are bitter and burnt but usually better than Starbucks

Unfortunately, their biggest issue is customer service. From the new faces right up to the season staff, their body language is dreadful and their attitude seems little better. There is hardly a single employee at the Edgemont location who is consistantly polite or who makes me feel welcome. It's well known around the village, everyone knows this but it's inexcusable. Their one major draw over Starbucks should be their customer service but it simply isn't. They desparately need to work on this.

Great americano

The americano here has a more rich flavour than Starbucks. Their americano tastes watered down even though it does have lots of caffiene in it. For coffee it's good but for food only average but that doesn't really matter since it's the java I come here for along with the atmosphere.
