A pizzaria with limited seating in Deep Cove.
My wife loved the simple pizza with a little mozarella, tomato sauce and fresh basil. The crust is deep and tasty. The pizza joint for a take out in Deep Cove. As others have mentioned, I wouldn't necessarily do a sit down, but for take out it's a winner.
I know what you are thinking... "I have to go out to Deep Cove to get some good pizza"? Well, the answer is "yes".
There are many greats in town but honestly Deep Cove Pizza continually rises above the competition, it is one of my Top 3 Best Pizza joints in Vancouver and for take out, no better option especially if you live in the area.
But if you don't, it's worth a trip out since the Cove itself is worth a visit. See the sights! Stay for the pizza!
They say limited seating but honestly, limited means 3 seats. Deep Cove Pizza survives off of take out & delivery business.
Stick to the Italian Pizza choices as you can go anywhere for good standard pizza, even though here, it tastes that much better!
No room to dine in. Order pick up or delivery. Good pizza, generous ingredients. 200 characters minimum? Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum wait.
Apparently the owners of Deep Cove Pizza traveled Europe in search of the best pizza dough by sampling dozens of some of the best pizza in the world, or so the story goes. I can believe it because the crust of their pizza is fantastic. You also get a decent selection of topings, some are traditional and some combinations are more inventive. I have had some exceptional pizza from here.
They are very close to running a legendary business. Here's where they fall short. Delivery is inconsistent and is very often well over an hour to receive a tepid pie. The apathetic attitude from the employees has been infuriating in the past, although its better these days. The price is a bit too high to be competitive or justified. Overall - Deep Cove Pizza offers a superior product most of the time, but the fear of dealing with an adolescant, arrogant ass and a delivery time of 90+ minutes should scare away most repeat customers. The only problem is - the alternatives on the North Shore are limited.
I gave this resturaunt a 3 in ambiance because its situated in on gallant, in the heart of the cove. but dispite its location, the resturaunt itself is an excuse for a pizza place. they over charge on every ingredient, and when you reach the parmasean shaker they charge you 5 bucks. if they promise delivery in 1hr, sometimes its reall fast. but sometimes its like 2hrs+ and the pizza arrives cold. this has happened to many people i know and its just not worth the 30+ dollars per large pizza that they charge. i grab panago for a quarter of the price and it arrives in 20min.
