A Church's Chicken franchise in North Van
I decided to treat Mrs. C to some tasty chicken and so I headed to CC for some deep fried foods. This CC was clean enough and it had a small dining area that didn't look very comfortable, but I came for some fast take-away.
The server was friendly, but service was awful. Why? They made me (and a few others) wait 20 minutes for chicken. Apparently they hadn't cooked anything, even though it was 6:30 pm. What's up with that? They didn't offer any explanation. After an interminable wait, almost everyone got some food. The rest had left. So much for being a quick serve restaurant.
The chicken itself was tasty and not too salty like KFC. I also tried some crab screamers (or whatever they were called). They were not so great.
Will I be back? No. I don't need the aggravation.
Similar experience to below review. Staff nice but it's like 6 pm and it will be an 8 minute wait if I want this, 6 minutes if I want that, etc. Have to serve your own pop and it is crazy fizzy so that takes 8 minutes to fill anyway. They forget part of our order after all that.
Chicken tender things were disgustingly pale and weird looking (nothing like the picture), and tasted similar to how they looked (bland). My daughter wouldn't eat them because they were too weird looking. Fries are bland with no seasoning. Need to go get 5 tiny packets of salt and salt them up. My spicy chicken sandwich was pretty tasty, and regular chicken pretty good.
A small area to dine in but it was pretty clean for a fast food place.
The prices are pretty cheap but the quality of the ingredients and portions reflect the price.
In summary it was just way too much wait and work for some questionable food.
I usually think I should like Church's based on their ads but am always dissapointed, which is why I only come back every 10 years for a sanity check. If I did happen to go back I would only get standard chicken and avoid everything else.
