Two businessmen quit their day jobs to invest in something they love -- ice cream and coffee.
This place is another spot I like to treat myself for a latte or Ice cream. When I want to indulge in great tasting Vanilla Latte, I will have it there to wake up my taste bud's and start my day. I enjoy sitting having a latte, people watching, reading newspaper to a soccer game that might be playing. Its a popular spot year round.
They make a variety of ice cream from Reeses Peanut butter cup, oreo, caramel to strawberry to name a few flavours. They will let you try a sample, so you won't pick the wrong type of ice cream. In the summer time, people flock here to eat their ice cream, and you won't be disappointed.
The cost of ice cream to latte's are on the high side, that's why this place is a treat. My vanilla latte was over $4.00, ice cream with two scoops $5.00 & up and if I want it to go, they don't have containers in one large size for $9.00 or $10.00. As for the service, what do you expect when you hire students for a low wage, you have to expect it, and it can run smoothly or be slow. The Coffee & Ice cream is constantly good, and if you're looking for a treat along Lonsdale, this popular spot is well known to people who live around here.
Enjoy your ice cream, coffee, latte, or snack, you won't be disappointed.
North Van is undulated with Starbucks everywhere, but Brazza manages to shine over every other coffee shop in North Van, and even stands its own ground in a very competitive Vancouver market. The lattes, the macchiatos, and the mochas are all incredible, with perfectly sweet and smoky espresso, perfectly steamed milk with silky smooth foam, and usually good latte art. The owners will always do latte art, and most of the baristas will too, but there are very few hired baristas who make their latte art as splendid as Tony and Lino. Despite the attention paid to each and every drink, this is a very unpretentious coffee shop, with a very homely atmosphere that makes it easy to sit down and enjoy yourself. However, you might not enjoy yourself too much during the summer, as the store on Lonsdale lacks air conditioning.
On the side of food, the pastries are typically very good and many of them are made from scratch and in-house. Their gelato is also made in-house, and the lemon gelato is a refreshing summer treat. I also have cravings all the time for the chicken brie sandwich they have. Their panini press isn't so great, but the sandwich is a real winner.
I felt horrified after reading a poor review on Brazza. I go there every day... sometimes twice even. BEST hot chocolate ever. And delicious gelato, especially hazlenut.
Don't shy away from this place because of bad reviews.
It's a great place to watch some football (soccer) and hang out and chat with the barista's.
It's awesome, with delicious drinks and personal staff.
There are about 20 coffee shops all over Lonsdale. Why this one? It is clean and new, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and patient, and seating is comfortable.
Visit in the morning for a delicious China White gourmet coffee, visit after dinner for some "Enron Overload" ice cream. MMMmm.
I want to love Brazza. I really do. But the place is consistently inconsistent. On a recent Sunday, the staff seemed to be all new, and didn't know much about the coffee menu, or the icecream, or even how to work the cash register. The manager/owner was nowhere to be seen.
I don't blame the new employees. They were untrained, and left to fend for themselves. The specialty coffee drink my friend ordered was disappointing and overpriced. The service was weak. Brazza still has its work cut out for it.
Brazza is for good coffee supplemented by all sorts of gelato in an open and welcoming location. Situated in central Lonsdale in NV, this is a great spot to meet friends, work on your computer (free Wi-Fi) or to sit at the window bar and watch the world go by.
I was there when World Cup soccer was on the large screen TV and though it was not Commercial Drive it was fun with lots of noise and drama.
I've been coming to this place for years; it's become somewhat of a networking site for both myself and pretty much everyone I know. We all go and lounge around, catching one another up while eating their delicious gelato and partaking of their amazing mochas. They also do a really good sandwich, which is nice, and their service and prices make this just the perfect place to sit back, unwind, and talk with old friends.
Brazza is a great coffee shop with quick service and friendly staff. They make amazing caramel macchiatos, good muffins, and good gelato. Reasonable prices, lots of tables, and free wireless internet make it my favourite place to go on lunch break, or with friends to warm up in the winter or cool off in the summer. Also, they make their drinks attractive by making designs on the foam of lattes in their large mugs, which makes you want to stay, sit down, and enjoy your drink.
A friend was gushing about a new espresso and gelato experience and I will always be indebted to that friend! Brazza’s speciality coffees have it all. The espresso is rich, full bodied with a lovely caramel essence, demitasse after demitasse. My toes tingle and I want to move in so I never have to leave!
The owners and staff are first-class, too. Tony, one of the owners, actually installed an airport express wireless network when I complained that I was having difficulty connecting to their existing wireless network. I expected a polite brush-off but he actually went out and bought the router I recommended the same week.
The gelato is the best I’ve tasted in Vancouver. I don’t know what the other reviewer was smoking as two scoops of gelato costs $4, not “almost ten bucks.”
They enter and win local, national and international competitions for their coffee and gelato on a regular basis. The quality of their coffee and gelato shows why Brazza is at the top of their craft.
We like this place for both the gelato and the pastries. It's hard to find a good cinnamon bun or chocolate/almond croissant, and this place has both. We haven't tried any specialty coffees but the regular coffee is fine. Sandwiches etc are also fine.
There's a decent selection of gelatos and sorbets, as well as some soy gelatos and sugar-free/dairy-free ones. The chocolate one is great! We don't get cones but buy 1/2 litre which is a better deal.
The layout is nice, and the place is usually busy but not too busy ie you can find a seat. We've never had any problems with the service.
I love this place now. My friend told me about it and I am hooked. Best lattes in Vancouver. Good gelato and food too.
Service is fast and friendly. Prices are not high. Clean and well run.
If you are looking for a good coffee shop I think Brazza is one of the better ones you will find on the North Shore
As coffee chain hell continues to take over the city, Brazza and a bunch of other 'coffee art' players are making cap's & lattes for the rest of us. Hallelujah. Strong coffee that doesn't scald your tongue and foam that's thick and creamy (as opposed to dollop-like dry snowballs of the stuff)...and those cool swirls!
Food, service, room are top notch too at the North Van location. Owner is clearly passionate and does a great job making sure all aspects of the cafe maintain the highest quality. Grazie!
They have one of the Best Americanos in the City
Their is usually a line up to get a coffee, but they are very quick to deliver the goods.
Coffee beans are all organic and roasted in Italy I think by Torrefazione De Luca if I recall.
The place is great to meet friends and hangout as well.
One word: Lattes. If you're looking for a good qaulity cup of coffee (Don't we all?) you must try Brazza.
My hubby is a coffee coneseur (sp?) and he takes my son for a walk and comes back with coffee breath.
The also have calorie-conscious, lactose-conscious ice cream flavours that would satisfy those of us that can't do without the calories but without the calories.
Everything here is high-qaulity and tasty. It will fit a wide spectrum of taste (panini's, ice creams, delicious coffee) but it's a bit pricier than your average coffee shop.
This place has great coffee but their gelato is ASTOUNDINGLY overpriced (and NOT worth it, believe me) You pay almost 10 bucks for 2 small little scoops of mediocre gelati. I think the only reason they do well is because (sadly) North Van has no real gelato places (Where is Mondo? Or Amato??) I will be back for a latte but never again for that lousy ice cream...i'd rather go to Baskin Robbins. Far less of a rip-off.
