I've been to many many restaurants before, but never one where the menu flat out lied as to what I would be getting. I ordered a prime rib dinner, I got roast beef with char marks. They closed the bar at 9, and we were not told until right when the bar was about to close, forcing us to rush our drink orders. The drinks, by the way, were so light on alcohol, a child could drink it. We had to ask for more vodka shots costing us about $9 a pop just to make the drinks passable. They rushed us the whole time and wanted us out of the restaurant, please save your money go to pretty much any restaurant besides this one. The kicker, they wanted mandatory tip! We didn't pay it, justified for the dinner and left. The only way this restaurant could be worse is if the food was laced with salmonella.
The Dunn Street Grill is a comfortable family restaurant with a bit of a pub feel. Karaoke and entertainment, in the evenings makes the Dunn Street Grill a fun place to wind down after work and have a bite to eat.
Located in Niagara Falls on Dunn Street next to Young's Minimart, however it is not located in the neighbourhood of Thorold South as stated above.
Poor service, filthy surroundings, and cheap decor barely begin to describe this location. It looks like a Third World knock-off of this amazing product. Why can't they clean up that place? Why can't they spend a few bucks to upgrade the look? Heck, good lighting at night would go a long way towards improving the appearance.
Whatever they do to the store, they MUST train the employees to provide better service. Otherwise, I will stock up on Yogen Fruz in Buffalo, NY before my next visit.
I was recently visiting my sister in Fonthill and the first restaurant she reserved in anticipation of my visit was Paris Crepes Bistro. I will never visit her again without going there immediately! It was superb in every way.
I spent a wonderful sabbatical year in Paris and believe me, this bistro would have been packed and overflowing anywhere in that great city! I simply couldn't believe that a restaurant in Niagra Falls would, in a flash, transport me back through the years to the sensational culinary delights of the very finest of Paris Bistros, but it did!
I wondered when I ordered the charcouterie as an hors d'oervre for 2 persons what on earth would arrive! I was thrilled to find not only superb sausage and meats, traditional little gerkins, and so on, but also fresh greens topped with absolutely amazing mayonnaise the likes of which one rarely fnds in restaurants in Canada. It only went up from there.
GO! You will not be disappointed. Every review here is right. The only place where I gave this restaurant less than 5 stars was in "atmosphere", and that was only because there were too few people. Lots of happy people drinking wine, eating in candlelight to French music, are the necessary finishing touch to a great bistro, and they were scarce the night we were there. Don't let a bit of road work deter you, mes amis! After all, in Paris people would be parking on sidewalks many kilometres away and walking for blocks in order to dine in such a terrific atmosphere on delectable food!
