We frequent Frankie’s on a regular and love it! The servers bring your beverages as soon as you order. The menu has something for everyone. (Not just Pub food) I really like the baked brie and the Won Ton Tiger prawns as well they have a great Tai Salad. Not to mention that the “Pub Food” like wings and nachos are awesome as well. The staff are friendly and courteous. They have entertainment on Thursday that shows off some of Vancouver’s own local talent. It’s nice to have music without having to scream across the table. And of course they always have the hockey games and fights!!! Well done!!!!
Ordered take out today with some girlfriends who suggested this restaurant. They order from here quite often and love the food, so I thought I would try it out. I had the Carnita's and Alambre tacos and they were delicious! Although they are very cheap...I could eat 5 or 6 on my own because they are relatively small. That or I'm a big eater. I'm definitely going to get it again.
We had dinner at Aldo’s on Sunday. When we called for reservations we were told that they had a large dinner party that evening but that they could fit us in. It is a small restaurant but the service was very good considering the large group and the fact that there was only 1 server.
They have primarily pizza and pasta. There are only 4 entrees, 3 veal dishes and 1 chicken dish. With the pasta you pick your sauce and pasta combination. We decided to share a large pizza (you pick your own toppings and the price is determined by the size of pizza and number of toppings ordered.) We decided to share a large pizza and an order of pasta. We had a linguine with smoked salmon and alfredo sauce. This was very tasty and it had large chunks of smoked salmon. The pasta was nicely cooked al dente. They do not make all their own pastas. The waiter said that some of the pastas are not homemade. The pizza was also very good and again they were very generous with the toppings. The server checked on us a few times during the course of our meal and was very attentive. Before the pizza and pasta were served we were given nice hot rolls from the oven. They were really good but I didn’t want to fill up on bread.
Our server was very gracious. When we first sat down I found our table to be very cool because the front door was open. We asked him if it was possible to close the door and he did it without any hesitation or fuss.
I did like the Italian music they had playing in the background. It was very soft so it was not intrusive. It just added to the ambiance.
As we were leaving someone from the birthday group asked us if we would like to take some of their birthday cake with us. What a kind gesture.
This is a nice restaurant and we would return
The servers here are very slow and we sat for a long time and when we finally were served the girl was very ignorant and abrubt with us. We were simply asking questions about some of the food because one of our friends had some allergy issues. The server did not know the products and instead of going and asking she simply said she did not know. When asked to go into kitchen to check on couple dishes she scoffed and did so however went and served other people first and continued to make us wait. I wanted to leave then and there however because we had some elderly guests we stayed. What a mistake - the food was bland, greasy, and cold when it reached the table. What a waste of money. Never again!!!
It so refreshing to see a restaurant fill there sits and serve everyone in a fast manner.
Before I knew it our food dishes were out in front of us. The Miso soup has a great flavour and the sushi was fresh.
The only thing that was just o.k., was the spicy tuna roll, the spicy had a great flavour but the cut of the tuna was not the best.
The menu had many choices for all kinds of different tast buds so if you have friends that are picky than this place has some choices.
Service was great and nice to see smiles from people in the customer srevice business.
The food here is great...we have eaten in and had take-out and have never been disappointed. Portions are generous and the food is fresh and delicious. Sashimi is fresh, and the rolls are great, the rice is cooked well and not too much. The tuna tataki is worth a try. Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys Japanese.
I love Mexican food and it's hard to find good and cheap ones around here. What I like about this place is it has a local and casual feel. I love their nachos and hot chocolate. I prefer their beef and pork meals better than their steamed chicken. I also like the sides of rice, beans, salsa, and guacamole ( I think that's only on some meals).
This place isn't a fancy hang out, but it's affordable and good food. All their meals are typically the same style depending on what kind of meat you get. For example you would typically get the same sides on most meals. It's good though. It's a small place, but it's not a horrible place to try out.
Even though this is a home-style food place, I could not eat at this place everyday. HOWEVER, it's a nice special place to visit about once a month. Don't expect a high class restaurant, but you would definitely not get fast food material like Taco Bell or Taco Del Mar. I feel full and happy every time I eat here.
We were just there today, we were greeted and served by nice Italian server. We ordered the antipasto, bread and the stracciatella soup to start, then for main course we ordered the linguine carbonara and the penne con alfredo con salmone. And finally for dessert, baci nero. Everything was great, not a single item we didn't care about. The portions are just right and the dishes are all tasty. Very highly recommended! We will definitely return. To think we almost went to the Old Spaghetti Factory down the road. Glad we found this little place! What a pleasant surprise indeed!
I went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration with friends. The ambience was alright, a bit noisy but that can't be helped.
It took them a while to get menus since it was so busy. This would be annoying, but our whole party was not assembled so it wasn't a big deal.
The waiter was really good, he kept checking up on us, offering us drinks, and refilling our water.
The food was definitely a disappointment. I ordered the $30 anniversary 3 course meal, with appetizer, entree, and dessert. The portions were way too small. I stopped filling on bread since I thought I'd be getting my money's worth, but the portions were undersized. The entree looked rather lame on the big plate.
I got the clam chowder for appetizer, which was more of a saucer than a cup. It was good, but tiny,
Main course was the 7 oz steak, it was great but a little under seasoned. I can understand why since some folks might not like it that way. Side dishes were some bland mashed potatoes and vegetables, also in small portions.
Dessert was Mud Pie, a very light frozen cake slice with a hint of coffee. It was unmemorable.
Best parts was the steak and my birthday friend getting a free slice of Mud Pie because it was her birthday.
Not a good place to get a bang for your buck, even though my friends said the seafood was great. The portions could be bigger if they are going to charge that much.
I really enjoy this place, I always get the combo C for $6.88 (20pcs) and a mini salmon rice bowl. However my fiance ordered the beef rice bowl and hated it. I did not try it myself but I LOVE the salmon. The sushi is fresh and delicious. More importantly is the price, which is very affordable for the quality of the food. There are many cheap sushi places out there but this place is actually good. I'm very happy I tried it...I think I'll order some tonight!
I had been going to this place for years at an average of 4 times a month, until they expanded.
Their food was amazing, service and value however plumited when they expanded and the ambiance wasn't becomes irrelevant when you're waiting 1.5 hours for your food to finally reach everyone at the table. The rolls where also practically falling apart when they had arrived. The waitress had also forgotten items we were specificly there for (my wife and I were addicted to the beef tetakki). When we finally got our bill after what seemed like forever, there were a few items we hadn't ordered and we were charged for items we ordered but hadn't received. We decided to give it another shot but with an order for pick up, that was when we drew the line, it was as if the chef had absolutely NO pride in his work. The rolls were a mess, the sashimi just didn't taste right and we had to throw it out. The service again was TERRIBLE, they told us 15minutes, we always arrive 20minutes after placing our order to ensure they have time. We ended up waiting there another 15 for our food and then the lady who charged us for it took the liberty of adding the tip to the debit machine herself! At that point my wife demanded it be returned and as far as us returning, it will never happen.
I have lived in New Westminster for over a year and have been going to ki sushi almost every week. Out of the hundreds of visits only a few were unpleasant, the food is always good and cheep but the service can be pretty bad sometimes, But over all it is definitely a place worth checking out
DO NOT ORDER!
Not only did the food take over an hour to arrive, it came overdue and expired!
Completely not following the health regulations.
I thought I'd give it a try after reading mixed reviews myself, but now I know!
I'm warning those thinking about trying this the first time!
You don't want to jepardize your family's health.
Sick & Disgusted!
I will return here over and over for their great bread! He uses the right ingredients and stays away from preservatives and anything that should not be in bread!! All of the baking I have tried is great and the other products that line this store help to round out the pantry. Try his bread and you will not be disappointed.
The staff is bad and the food worse! The food tasted like day old bread and the people serving it were angry and not happy. Every staff member there were like robot and not at all in tune with the customer. The drinks were not at all to par and all the drinks were definitly not at all one shot but watered down with soda. We only went there for friends party but ended up having miserable time with staff and owner. Dont go ever for any reason!
I was completely horrified by the actions of the staff at this location. Not once, but two weekends in a row. I am not sure who trained them but clearly they did not do a good job. Tim Hortons has always been a friendly environment, even when it can get quite chaotic and busy. For the record it was not busy at this location at all. The staff were literally yelling at eachother pushing orders, name calling, and shoved my order out the window to me. No Hi good morning, or have a nice day. It took everything in me not to go back in there and give them a peice of my mind. I'm assuming the lady in the black shirt was a supervisor or manager, well she was the worst out of the bunch. I've never seen such unprofessionalism. The following weekend I went there again, my mistake. I must have repeated my order 3 times at the window, and was confident she still didn't get it right. I asked her to repeat my order at the window, with irritation in her voice she did, and of course missed half my order. After she fixed it she handed me the debit machine, and leaned out the window an watched me as used the machine, why? I don't know, I'm sure there's other things she could have been doing like preparing my coffee that tasted like pure sugar, or my daughters scolding hot chocolate when I asked for half milk. Get it together! Instead of paying attention to my pin you should have been doing your job, just as i had to get to work im sure the line up of people behind me had somewhere else to be as well: Unfortuntely there's not many tim Hortons in new west, so I may have to put up with these people for the time being, I just hope that someone that has some sort of authority reads these reviews and does something about their staff.
Me and a friend went to Stefano's to check it as we heard it was pretty good Greek Food. The waitress sat us down then walked away without asking us what we would like to drink. 20 minutes later she came back asked what we would like to drink then took our order. we got our drinks 15 minutes after ordering what we wanted and then waited 1 HOUR for our meal. I've never waited more then 30 minutes for a meal at a restaurant I was blown away and not to mention it was dead in there ! When we got our food it wasn't hot it was warm I always order the Lamb Souvlaki and I was just not impressed at all....Because of poor service and Food I did not leave a tip for the waitress even though she came right out and said it when separating our bills, Who does that ?? very unprofessional...I'll never go back there and I will not recommend that place to anyone !
I was heading home in Queensborough and thought it would be nice to not cook and catch the end of the hockey game. i had not even had a chance to take my jacket off and sit down before the drink that I ordered was on the table. I quickly decided on the special of 2 Halibut and fries and sat down to enjoy some food, drink and hockey. Jason was quick to find the next game once the first one ended. I appreciate the service and the atmosphere at Frankie G's, I don't get there too often but when I do I think I should have been back sooner. Try it you will like it.
We have has this restaurant's 'All You Can Eat' many times in the past and it has always been excellent.
But we were there a couple of weeks ago for our favourite meal and it was such a disappointment.
The batter, usually crisp and tasty, was soggy and flat, and fell off the fish before you could eat it. The fish, usually fresh and delicious, was tasteless as if previously frozen. Perhaps because the fish used has been changed from basa to pollock(so their sign at the door said).
We definitely will never go back to this restaurant for their 'All You Can Eat' special.
Recently ate here with my girlfriend on a thursday evening, and left with little to be desired. The food was lame, the music was lame, the atmosphere was...well, you get the idea. The servers spent half the time chatting to each other, and we waited for 30 minutes for our food to come. But before that our appetizers of 'riblets' looked as unappetizing as they tasted; like little turd formations. The appearance of this pub could have potential if it was kept up, which is clearly wasn't.
Hands down, won't be returning in this life time.
