I have been going to this restaurant for several years, including when they were at their old location on 6th Street in Burnaby. This is a small family-run business with a little help from employees. The family (Jenny and Simon) are always pleasant, making all who come in feel welcome. Sometimes the service is a little bit slow, especially in the afternoons or during the mornings when it can be very busy. I have found the food (both the Canadian and Chinese) to be decent and they will cook it to your request of how spicy you want. I will definitely continue eating here and enjoying the great friendships I have made there.
The restaurant is always full and it looks nice inside, so we thought we'd give it a try. We had the breakfast special first, but made the mistake of adding garlic to the potatoes, only to discover that the garlic was raw and the potatoes weren't cooked too well. We also had to wait a long time for the coffee. Confused as to why this place was evidently so popular, we thought we'd get the Chinese food for take-out one night. While certainly not the worst we've had, it left much to be desired: it was quite bland, and left an unfortunate canola-oil-like aftertaste. This might be good for some people, but we certainly didn't enjoy either of our experiences.
Ok here the thing with this place the food is quite good and the burgers are decent and good. Yes its a hole in the wall and yes it serves chinese and canadian foods but the burgers are good as is the chinese food. Itys almost hard to choose between the two as I know i ll always be satisfied.
Delivery service is good as well and we find the owners and servers quite friendly. Service is decent and the quality is good as well. We havent had a miss with this place yet, and like it for its speed and price.
Its another one of those small little new west mom and pop shops that are making a name for itself that are better then the mainstream crap we are being led to believe is better then the little guy. They have my support the whole way!!
Excellent restaurant. Have been going as a tradition for several years now. All day breakfast is well worth the money ($3.25). Chinese food is delicious and the portions are large. Burgers are very tasty. Staff have always been friendly and always have a smile. A real neighbourhood restaurant.
