Treasures, in deed!

I drove by VT this afternoon during my lunch hour and noticed this new bakery so I stopped in to see what they had to offer.
It's a cute little shop that also sells bundt pans (which I thought was a little weird, but oh well).

Looked around a bit and found that they did not offer much of a pick-up and munch selection - everything was either packaged in nice gift bags or whole cakes and large pastries. Since I couldn't just buy a small item to sample, I looked for something that I could share easily with my coworkers. I bought a bag of cookies called "Chocolate Paws". Although a bit on the expensive side (about 8 cookies for $4.75), O-M-G were they ever delicious!! Crispy on the outside, smooth and soft on the inside and dusted with powdered sugar. These babies are to die for!

The owner was really nice and said that her bakery was pretty new. For that, I don't blame her for only offering big items like whole cakes. For an area that doesn't have much traffic, I too, wouldn't bother with small items - they would spoil and that would be a shame!

I also found out on her website that she's been baking and selling her goods for years at farmer's markets. I recommend this bakery and would definitely return for some more Chocolate Paws and try her Anise Cookies too.

This place has amazing stuff! is avery clean, neat place, everything is freshly made. They not only sell baked goods, they also make soups, and they are fantastic, I had a tomato bisque soup to die for, it tastes home maid and the price is not bad at all. I will absolutely come back for more. I hope this review encourages more peolple to drop by, this place deserves a chance.

I tried this place once on a Friday night, and was simply enchanted.
I want to become a regular of this little bakery with its european country trown style, the warmth of the owner, and simply for the best apple strudels in whole Vancouver area. All the other stuff looks delicious also, I admit I only indulge in the strudels (I kind of try to watch my weight). I'll recoomend this bakery to anyone anytime for
great snacks and wonderfull deserts.

As authentic as can be

I have to say, this bakery is as close as one can come to Oma's baking. The beesting cake is absolutely incredible, and all the other treats I've tried are extremely close to all sorts of goodies from my childhood. All my friends that have had the chance to try the beesting cake agree that it is heavenly. PLEASE give this place a try, as I hope it stays open at this location for good. It is truly a treasure in the Lower Mainland, not just New West!

Nice little neighborhood bakery

Based on the first 2 reviews I visited Vienna Treasures this afternoon. I purchased the Chocolate Paw Cookies and a Hazelnut Braid. (Just over $16.00 for the two items). Both of these are pretty good. I can make better versions of both IMHO, and my Oma certainly can. That said, I did not have to make these. They are a good quality, good tasting product produced by a charming lady in a cute, clean little premises, attractively wrapped and they were available to me at no more effort than that required to drive about 10 blocks each way. There is definitely something to be said for that. I will certainly return to try the Beesting Cake among other things as I must know if it truly surpasses Oma's!!!

Worst poppy struedle ever!
By lovepastry of delta (1 Review)
Submitted Tuesday, September 2, 2008 - 10:57am [Dine in]

We bought a piece of the poppy roll at the Ladner Farmers' Market a few weeks ago and it was VERY stale and terrible tasting! Thankfully, we didn't but a whole roll!

We will stop by the bakery, if we are in the neighbourhood, to discuss this poor-quality sample. Have to wonder why someone with this level of service would allow such poor quality!
