I used to volunteer in a cafeteria (we learned how to make food such as sushi, steaks, soups, and product prices) and the sushi I made there and didn't pay for was better than this. The rice was dry, the seaweed was drier, the avocado was brown and mush, the prawn tempura in the dynamite was EXTREMELY fishy tasting. While I was eating it I thought "it's places like this that turn people away from sushi forever". It was DISGUSTING and for 13 bucks at other places, especially new west you can get soooo much better (ki is decent just for example). If I hadn't left already i would have sent it back and refused to pay.
Sushi was fresh, tastes good. Portions relatively generous. Tempura a bit on the mushy side though, and the spicy in the spicy rolls is nothing but hot sauce - as is the case with many sushi joints. It doesn't pretend to be something it isn't though. Service is friendly, there seems to be quite a few regulars/locals who know the servers, and they look like they do healthy business in take-out orders and local strip mall employee breaks. Recommend.
I enjoy going to this sushi place when I'm shopping at the outlets. The first time I went there, I found it very inviting and clean. I really like the simplicity of their decor. They have magazines and newspapers so I have something to keep me occupied when I'm eating by myself. The servers are very friendly. Always smiling and coming around with hot tea often. The sushi is good...I've had better sushi at other places for better value but I DO enjoy the casual ambiance here. The prices are, however, reasonable. In my opinion, they have the best agadashi tofu and chicken teriyaki here. YUM! I will always go back to this place and I recommend it to anyone.
When this little sushi restaurant opened up, it was great. As they started getting more customers, i think they got a little cocky with their efforts. I would order spicy rolls, and would recieve teriyaki rolls. Then when I would send it back they would just add the spicy sauce over the wrong one. The rice used to be warm when you got your rolls, then they started serving rice that tasted like it was sitting out for a few hours.
