Okay in a pinch

Tried the Thursday steak and fries special for $7.99. Big lounge but no one else was having dinner. Couldn't help but wonder why are we eating here? Very bare looking plate. About a 4 ounce piece of chewy meat and a handful of fries. Small container of ketchup and another of gravy. For the price it was okay. At least the wait staff were all hotties. Big screen was on showing a CFL game. Okay outing but not worth repeating.

Red Bar Appy's while watching Canucks game

Was there with the brother-in-law to watch the Canucks and do a little gambling. Ordered Nachos with chicken pieces and Calamari. Nachos were very basic, hardly a hot pepper or olive to be seen and the chicken was bland and dried out. Calamari was a bit soggy although the chili mayo was a good accompaniment. Portion was also very small for the Calamari. Service was fairly quick once we could track someone down and she did a good job at checking up and bringing fresh drinks.

Overall, not good value for totally unremarkable pub style food. Nice enough place to watch the game if you don't mind casino racket.

Holy crap.. that was cheap

Over the wknd We met up with some friends that were already at the casino. We decided to check out one of many restaurants in the place and decided on RedBar Lounge. Overall we had a great time. There happened to be a live band with singers and dancers which was entertaining to watch. They were actually quite good.
The service was good, she came around a few times but if you needed something there was always another server around. The menu was pretty straight forward. Burgers, Pizzas, appy's..
We all ordered something different and were all really happy with our meal and couldn't believe how cheap it was. 8" pizzas were about $5, beef burgers with a side were $6..this went for drinks too.. 2 glasses of wine, 1 domestic beer and 1 import beer was around $25 ..After we all ate, each having an entree and a drink or 2 the bill came to $60 for 4 people. The food tasted great and came our fairly quickly.. although we were enjoying the show so you get distracted and tend to forget that you ordered.
We really enjoyed our time here and it seemed like everyone there was too. The crowd was enjoying the "hits" the band was playing; they were all older than our group- mostly middle aged couples but we had fun watching them dance. The show was free but you had to have a ticket to reserve a spot in the dining area.
Something different we stumbled upon, a great place for people who enjoy dancing to oldies. Who knows when we'll go back but for people living out in the 'burbs I'd definatley recommend this place.

Even close to buffet-like? NOPE!

How many problems can I list here? Well..let's start with the basics. Went with my wife last friday to give it try...$11.99 for a buffet...couldn't be that bad right? Well, got in line and waited for about 5 mins.....but ultimately got a table for two near the stage. First off, in terms of environment, the buffet is held in a show lounge...meaning booth seating, or booth/chair/table seating. Secondly to get to the buffet which is setup near the stage...one has to go on either side of the seating, as there's only two isles to get to the bottom level. These 'stairs' are also the only way the food/empty trays get back and forth from the kitchen. Anyhow...enough about the environment. On to the food...first off...it was 630pm...at least 1.25 hours before their last 'seating'. Going up to the buffet line...the first thing I notice? 3 OUT OF THE 6 TRAYS HAVE NO FOOD! I grabbed what I could, including a bit of pasta, some cabbage rice (it was the GREEK THEME), some fried potatoes, and a bit of sliced LAMB.

Other than the pasta and fried potatoes...the food was weak, cold and not flavorful. The availability was so bad, that people were waiting in line for the food to come..and then when they rolled it out in carts....it would be like pigs going to get chow....there would be a flurry of people going up to the buffet line, because everyone knew that if you didn't get any now, you'd be waiting. They also ran out of cups for hot drinks (which you get yourself up at the front), as well as the desserts which came in waves (the desserts were TERRIBLE).

Obviously, Starlight Casino didn't forsee the demand of customers, nor do they know how to run and manage a buffet. The LAST THING you want to see are EMPTRY trays, and having to WAIT for food. This is a makeshift food line, implemented to drum up business for the casino.

I didn't have any big expectations for this so-called BUFFET going in, but if you're selling it as a BUFFET, you better have food at the line when someone walks up.

Sorry folks, if you're looking for at least a BASIC feed-your-face-for-cheap buffet..look elsewhere. Hell, even UNCLE WILLYS has a much superior product. 6 notches up the scale, you then have the TULALIP casino buffet at exit 202 on the I-5 on your way to Seattle....for the same price (although you'll need to drive), you can get a VERY respectable and delicious buffet.
