I tried this place because i heard it was the best donair place in New West from a friend. I'm happy to say i was not disappointed. If i had another thumb i'd give it three thumbs up. The person serving was very friendly and humorous. The writing on the wall keeps you busy while he prepares your juicy succulent donairs. Very good, fresh ingredients. No complaints other than one small one. I bit into a small pebble in my lamb donair. I hope the washing of the vegetables will be more thorough in the future. All in all, good donairs!
I read 2 previous glowing reviews that prompt us to have to try this. We pass by their shop every weekend so today we gave them a shot. I ordered 2 medium chicken and mix beef/lamb with pop for $10. For the value it's not bad. We had chicken and mix beef and lamb. The chicken donair is bland and soggy. The mix beef/lamb had somewhat weird tomato sauce in it. Overall this is probably the worst donair place we've ever tried. If you want great donair go to donair affairs in port coquitlam, i'm not lying it's the best. I brought my friend from LA and they loved it every single bite. They have great hawaiian chicken donair and regular beef or lamb donair. This paradise donair is totally not authentic. Their sauce has strange flavor more like eating can sardines but with beef/lamb.
Been here on several occasions. Hand down, my favorite donair joint.
It is very close to where I live and it's more affordable and filling.
The donairs are usually stuffed with goodness of your choice. The meat is always good, felafel too.
You get to chose if you want it more spicy or add/leave out ingriedients.
Sometimes there's a bit of a line but it's worth it.
The guy that usually works there is very friendly and personable.
Most people around New West know it and love it. I'm a satisfied, returning customer for sure.
It's good food but every time I go in there the price changes, even though I'm buying the same thing every time! I don't mind paying for a tip but I don't appreciate it changing every single time. It started like this: $5 bucks, $5.50 the next, $6.12 then $7.50, then $6 bucks...after awhile I got annoyed and just stopped going. The last review I did for this place was "reported" and I didn't write anything negative.
This place is always packed and busy for a reason... They have great fresh donairs for a CHEAP price! 2 small donairs and a pop for $7? Awesome!
Not much for ambiance, but what do you expect from a thrifty donair stand?
The brothers running it are really friendly and nice to deal with...
They have interesting hand written "policies" all written tongue and cheek... Pretty funny!
Definitely worth a try if you're in the area! Give them a shot!
The server's are always very nice, if a bit quiet at times.
The food is excellent, perfectly complementing the cheap price.
If you're in the area, definitely grab a bite.
Also, in regards to the post saying that the price always changes, that's simply not true. They've had the same prices for the past ten years (about as long as I've known about PD).
What may have happened is that you didn't get charged tax. The owner will often just disregard the tax when he's working and just take $5 instead of the $5.60 (the employees have to charge the 5.60).
Also remember that chicken, beef and lamb are all priced differently. You will get charged differently for the different meats as they are different products. One more thing, if you add a drink to your combo, then it will be more.
I love this place. Ive been coming to this donair shop for a few years now and always delicious.
2 small beef donairs and a pop is 7 something. You cant go wrong.
I get exactly this everytime: 2 small beef donairs with lettuce tomato onions and cucumber. Only halifax sauce. I eating one right now, that why I'm doing the review.
Its quick and fresh. im usually in and out in a couple minutes.
Although this place can be a little confusing because of the amount of pricing you see when you walk in.
Just look at that spinning mountain of beef in the background, It'll clear you mind.
if you can, eat it there. Everything is better fresh.
if travelling lay it on its side this will prevent your sauce from pooling at the bottom.
if your walking all i can say is good luck.
The donairs they make are simply great, even better since the prices for it is relatively low. The spot is predominantly more of a pick-up to go rather than a sit down and eat place, though they do have chairs and tables set up outside for the summer. I used to go there quite frequently back in high school when I lived in the area, but whenever I crave a donair, this store's the way to go for me. I highly recommend it!
