Naanbites serves affordable and quick Indian food in Queensborough Landing.
Went here with a friend and our daughters (both age 3).
It is not fancy, nor is there any real "ambiance" per se - it is functional only - but very clean (including the unisex washroom).
One orders at the counter and the server brings the food to the diners. Diners help themselves to purchased pop from the beverage fridge.
I ordered the Tiffin Combo Bite which consisted of Basmati Rice, Naan, a veggie curry and a meat curry. I chose the palak paneer and the butter chicken. Both were very tasty and neither too spicy nor too mild. The naan was hot and fresh, although maybe a tad oily on the outside (however it was also quite tasty). I ordered the special for my daughter which included a meat curry bowl with rice, pakora bites and a canned pop. I can't remember the price - but it was under $9. I also purchased a tamarind chutney for $0.99 (however, my friend ordered a single side of Pakora Bites and it came with tamarind sauce - I wonder the server didn't just say it was included instead of taking my money and giving me what should have been provided with my combo - it is not like he gave me an extra tamarind sauce....)
Anyways - notwithstanding that hiccup - it was an enjoyable meal. I wouldn't entertain clients there or bring a date - but for a simple lunch while shopping in the area - it was good.
I come here very frequently. They are all always very friendly (family run business) and the food is great!
The prices are very fair, the service is quick, and the place definitely gets pretty packed at lunchtime.
I very much enjoy their Chicken Tikka Masala, as well as their variation of Butter Chicken and Chicken Curry.
The Naan bread is always very fresh - and their Naan wraps are mouth-watering!
I haven't tried all the items on the menu, and I can't really speak as to the authenticity, but I love this place!
Probably the best value is their Tiffin Combo Bites - at $7.99 with 1 Meat and 1 Veggie curry (or additional $1.49 for 2 meat curries) Which comes also with basmati rice and naan.
Every time I tell my coworkers that I am going to pick up a take out order here, they always want to add an order as well.
Fantastic place, I would highly recommend to anyone!
When this place first opened, it was great. The food was delicious and good size portions. I used to recommend it to all my friends. Now...not so much. The food lost it's flavour, the portions got really small. I cannot recommend it at all. I think they changed their cook and obviously got cheap with their food. Not a good place for Indian food.
