Fun place combining Indian and Mexican foods!!

Both Indian and Mexican cuisines have flavours in common so it's a great idea to combine the two in a restaurant. One cusine's flour tortilla is another cuisine's roti. While this is located in a strip mall the ambiance decoration is everything one could wish for, very Bollywood, with cheerful bright colours while at the same time being Mexican as they use bright colours too. The decor actually almost looks like a movie set its so over the top! You almost can't help but go into this place if you are passing by, it's so cheerful. So back to the food, they offer daily freshly cooked Indian dishes sitting in a steam tray like at a food court but for Indian food this is actually a good things as it allows the flavours to meld. Combos with 1 items start at $6 and goes up to $10 for four items. I didn't try the Indian food as I was eyeing the Mexican menu. I tried a chicken fajita, I think the chicken was pre-cooked strips however they freshly saute the veggies for this dish which was a nice touch. It was a tad pricey at $7 even though it was full of chicken, I was expecting something bigger. However it did pass the taste test with flying colours. This place is reasonably priced and the Mexican dishes are under $10. The homemade slightly sour guacamole was delicious as was the pico de gallo. The owners are from India but they worked at Mexican restaurants which is where the Mexican connection comes in. Mexican food is never very authentic in Vancouver but this place is a cut above Taco Time etc. and is delicious. This place has a good vibe and the owner is friendly. I will definately be returning! Also that Columbia corridor has some new stores and is revamping into a slightly decent shopping area, so it's worth a visit to surrounding stores, especially Bella Bakery up the street.

Best Indian Food in New Westminster

I've tried a lot of different restaurants in Vancouver/Lower Mainland..this one is one of the best for Indian food.
The portions were huge!
The butter chicken was perfect, not to salty or oily.
I also like their vegetarian dishes, one with lentils, one with chick peas and one with cauliflower. The lentil ldish was my favorite.
The decor. of the place is kinda of tacky, but the food makes up for it.
I didn't try the Mexican food, maybe next time.
