Mrs. C and I were in NW, and we were craving food. IHOP had what we wanted. The restaurant is a bit old, but it looked like there were some renos, and the w/c was surprisingly modern and clean. The server was friendly and efficient, and gave us a nice big booth even though there were just two of us.
I decided on a chicken fried steak with pancakes, and my beloved co-diner had a bacon and egg burger with rings. All the food was tasty and exactly what we expected. Okay so they don't do organic vegan, but then again who would seek that sort of fussy food here?
A solid meal, and it wasn't too expensive.
Came here a week ago with a friend of mine. I ordered the double cheeseburger with fries and my friend had the chicken / spinach flourintine.
It was a weekend so a little busy, but not too bad.....our waitress seated us immediatly. The service was ok.
Anyhow my burger was just fantastic melt in your mouth type burger....with melting cheese, really it is unbelivably good here. tried a little of my friends chicken flourentine and it was pretty good food.
This place really has good food. We have also tried thier pancakes many times and really they are amazing.
Seriously, you must try IHOP
I am not a big fan of the generic ambience of chains and IHOP is no different. However, if you are in a pinch for breakfast and want a reliable, decent breakfast, IHOP isn't bad. As you would expect from a place with Pancakes in the name, Pancakes are their specialty and they are pretty good. Nothing great, nothing bad - just a regular generic breakfast.
Another chain pancake house, with too big of a menu to do anything well. Food is edible but not outstanding, service is average, but the booths are small and cramped and it has a real "student cafeteria" feel.
I went for breakfast, knowing full well that we're not talking gourmet here, but assuming the breakfast would be large and palatable. Well, it wasn't.
I ordered the nutella crepe with eggs, bacon, and sausage. The bacon was dull and plain, the sausages truly awful, the crepe okay, but too too sweet, and the eggs were eggs.
Service was okay, and the, er, ambience was as to be expected.
I will not go back.
Well how can you go wrong at the International House of Pancakes. You get a pot of coffee on your table. the food is what you expect. The service is good, the place is very busy. You will have to wait for a table.
This IHOP is old and small. The booths are tiny and it gets really full really fast on the weekends. Don't go with a large group as the biggest table they have seats 6 small people.
The only things that keep me coming back are that it's walking distance from my house, and the servers are really on the ball. Water and coffee are kept full and I never have to ask for more cream no matter how crazy it gets.
The portions are very small for what you pay here, and there's no room for modifications. I can't eat the nitrites in the meats and they're very reluctant to let me sub anything else.
Breakfast and coffee will cost you more than $10 here. Add another $3 if you want OJ.
I Don't Know Why The Title Is In Caps Like This...
This place is great. It is busy on the weekends, so you have to wait for a table. The staff is friendly, though they seem a little run off their feet. The service is unsurpassed. The only problem I have is not with the restaurant, but with people who do not control their children, yet bring them out into the public, where they wreak havoc. I was trying to enjoy my all you can eat pancakes last Sunday and the child at the table behind me was screeching like Celine Dion. The parents did nothing. The family left a huge mess-the baby threw the food all over the floor and the parents made no attempt at cleaning up after their slob offspring. I am the second oldest of eight, and my parents would not tolerate such behavior on the rare occasions we went out to eat. I am hoping that if there are any parents reading this, please clean up after your offspring and, if the child starts screaming, calm the child down or take him or her outside until they calm down. The screeching and screaming ruins the ambiance for the other customers and I can only imagine how unpleasant this must be for the staff.
Sometimes you just need a big greasy breakfast and this is a pretty good place to find one. We find the service good and usually the food comes out fast and hot. There are some healthier choices on the menu but I stick with bacon, eggs sausage etc. Weekend mornings are always busy, but the table turnaround is fairly quick.
