This location was recently renovated and re-opened. (As reported on January 2010.)
The usual dinner gang was hunting for dessert when we stumbled on the DQ in NW. The place was tiny and dirty (okay, so it was the end of the day, but they could make an effort) and the various people who drifted in while we were there ranged from average folks to the dregs of humanity. Despite the mess, kudos to the staff for cheerful service in this environment. DQ is a family place and not for the 'lah de dah" crowd, but some of the zombies wandering around in the neighborhood really were disturbing.
We had a variety of sundaes and they were all good as usual. Plus the price was right. Sadly, the ambiance ruined the dessert experience.
Not for the kiddies.
We always enjoy DQ treats and this one always satisfies. The location is old (no real seating area), but is great to pick up a couple cones on a hot day. You may encounter a line. The neighbourhood has a park down the road if you want to go for a stroll as you eat your treat. As for the service, it has lacked several times when I've gone, but who cares? It's DQ! Recently it's gotten better so I cant really complain. I have no issue with the neighbourhood or customers who go, and recommend it to anyone, kids included.
