Cobs apparently started off in Australia and has made its grand conquest of Canada. There seems to be Cob bakeries springing up everywhere in the Lower Mainland. I don't see what the fuss is. The bread isn't that different from grocery store breads. It even looks and tastes like grocery store breads. Their multigrain is okay but it's not baked in a wood-fired oven. The price tag for some of their baked goods is too high such as their invididual feta crossiants and all that. I'm not quite sure why so many patrons are flocking to this chain that offers few organic choices, and the ingredients used aren't high quality. If they had baked their bread in a stone oven or a wood-fired oven I would have been more impressed. Also the type of baking they do is very basic, and it's probably all pre-measured ingredients which is why the bakery can be run by 18 year-old staff. If you like this type of bread just buy a bread machine and you will save a tonne of money over shopping at this place. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that it is a little bit better than shopping for bread at your grocery store, but not by much.
