Tonight was pasta night so off we went. Upon ordering we were informed that our swarmjam vouchers were no good for the pasta specials. We were assured by swarmjam when we purchased the vouchers they were good for pasta night. Anyway I still had the pasta at regular price. Spaghetti and 3 meatballs $15 instead of $10. $5 won't kill me but it's the principle of the thing. Serving size was quite large. Pasta had cold spots throughout. How they managed that is a mystery to me. Not enough sauce on the pasta. Garlic bread arrived 5 minutes after the entree. Very nice ambiance, roomy and spacious. Seemed to be lots of tots enjoying a family night out. Friendly staff. I wanted to like it more than I did. A little more effort on BPs part might start reversing some of the bad reviews.
This was my third time at this boston pizza location and I really didnt want to go, the other times I went I didn't get very good service but i was really impressed this time. The new manager Sam was great he came to the table and hung out for a few minutes and really made us feel like we were wanted in the store, They were also pretty busy at the time and after about 15 minutes of waiting for our food Sam brought out chips and salsa which was great while we waited for our food. Our server Leanne was the cuttest little thing she ACTUALLY had knowledge of what was going on which was interesting because at the other boston pizzas in the area they look at you like your crazy when you ask where the bathroom is. I'm excited to go back!
I recently went out to this BP location with some ppl from work and have since decided that BP is a waste of time. The wait time for a seat was not long at all (under 10 mins for a large group of almost 10), but we still managed to spend 2 hours out of the office for lunch.
You know you've waited a long time when a group this large has run out of things to discuss and are starting to look at their watches and wondering where the heck the meals are.
We finally get our meals which consisted of boring usuals: salads, sandwiches, pizzas, quesidillas. Taste was no nothing special either. I remembered the days where BP prized itself for yummy pasta specials. These days, the selection isn't much to rave about. I remember having their spaghetti meatballs during another visit - spaghetti was overcooked, and meatballs weren't so tasty.
This time, I went for their lunch special: 1/2 Boston Brute sandwich. It tasted okay, but for a $10 lunch, I left not even close to full. It came with a very small Caesar salad and a 5" sub-type sandwich.
These are the times that I wished I'd eat at local business instead of a chain. No value, no taste, no time-saver.
This place is meh but I wasnt much disappointed. It was noisy but its cheap and this was a wife dinner. First of all, the service was slow (although we got our order -OK) and not much to look at as it took us about 28 minutes to get our pizzas which we ordered . Paying $ for what appears to be more bread and sauce is just crazy unless it is this cheap... We are not going to a steak house and this isnt a fate so more haste would have been nice. I have been to many restaurants and in my opinion it's a 2 star operation. I find it very strange how people are very new to reviewing giving this place five stars... Come on.. be real.
As far as food at boston pizza goes, its pretty much the same at every location...except this one, its total garbage even my favourite pizza bread from here which I would think is an easy thing to make and pretty hard to mess up managed to come out inedible. For such a large restaurant chain you would think they have to follow some sort of guidlines. Its too bad because its in a great location next to shopping etc, but next time i'll be stopping at the mcdonalds in walmart instead of BP.
I moved to New West in December 2007 when this place first opened and I was actually there the first day they were open. Now, a year and a half later nothing has really changed, luke warm microwaved food, slow service and confused staff. I mean Boston Pizza is Boston Pizza regardless of its location, but this one for some reason takes the fundamentals and throws them out the window.
I went into Boston Pizza with high hopes. It looks great from the outside and the inside of the restaurtant was well decorated and fun. I should know to go with my instincts however and run from any restaurant that is empty at 7pm on a saturday night. The wait staff are plentiful but they are very inexperienced and inattentive. You can see that there is some kind of franchise hive mind at work here. You have a hostess that seats you, someone to take your drink order, someone to take your food order etc. Quality checks are done and someone will come by to see if you need anything regularly. It is a soulless experience though and you get the feeling that everyone is reading their duties from a list. The food is not good, EVERYTHING is bland, pasta is overcooked, sauce is not good. Pizza is not good, pretty bad for a place named Boston Pizza. I've been to Boston and had pizza and it is not like this mass produced crap. The staff are very polite when you tell them that the food is terrible. They will not make you pay or feel bad but you will have wasted your time. That's the best way to sum up Boston Pizza queensborough. A total waste of time.
