Italian neighbourhood bakery specializing in decadent cakes, and pastries. Special occasion cakes are artfully decorated and taste just as good as they look. They also offer freshly baked breads.
I bought a cake for my Dad's birthday here, Reverse Tuxedo cake. I was very disappointed. It was extremely dry and tasteless, there was no cream cheese, no mousse. It looked really nice, and i paid $30 for it. What a sham! This is the second time i've gotten baked goods from this place and both times i was disappointed. You kinda ruined the Birthday experience Bella, thanks. TNT Bakery! Now they got it together. So if you want a nice looking cake and don't really want to eat it, this is the place to get ripped off on cake.
I heard some people say this was the best bakery in New West. Hahaha. Not even close.
I have been purchasing my baking from Bella Cakes for well over a year, and can say without a doubt, it is THE BEST bakery in New Westminster or Burnaby. The pastries are absolute perfection - from the macaroon's to the eclairs, I am never disappointed. I look so forward to birthdays and celebrations when I can custom order a cake from Fabio and the team at Bella. His artistry, love and care that he puts into his creations shines through. What a wonderful gem of a shop in the heart of Sapperton.
It's great that quality bakeries are sprouting up in the Lower Mainland. I was drawn to the chocolate hazelnut cake, they offer a few flavours in a smaller size that would serve 2-4.
I also tried a few pastry squares and some of these were just amazing. The peanut butter nanaimo bar is decadent. The lemon square was quite tart, just like I like it.
There was something outstanding about these desserts, the flavours were pure, the textures were just right, a bit nutty while also crisp and creamy.
I liked this bakery so much that I will be ordering from here for my next special event!
Walk in early in the morning and you are transported to France, the smell of the baking with real butter is sublime. Delightful sweet treats. Beautiful cakes. Wonderful bread. Definitely worth a trip for some of the ganache. Now that they have a little place to sit in front and enjoy a coffee with your baked treat, its even better.
When looking for a nice birthday cake we stumbled across this place in our own back yard... what a gem! The owners are very friendly and accomodating. The cake we got was fantastic (white cake with fruit), and the pastries we grabbed to go were great! They were also very willing to look at ingredients to double check allergy concerns which we appreciated. We wish them the best of luck and will return!
