Boy oh boy this is some spot if you like British style pubs!
Even the exterior is pure Yorkshire - a quaint house in the middle of a cow field in the country, a drive off the highway that's well worth it.
It's got it all in the true English tradition: the low wooden ceilings, dark beams, portraits, real fireplaces, snugs, wooden settles, dark wainscotting, stonework. There's no deep fry; they feature delicious hot pies and sandwiches, potato salad, slaw. My favourite is the steak and kidney pie. You order at the bar and pay up front and the food's brought to your table so there's no issue with slow or bad service. There's plenty of good local beer on tap and all the English beer and cider. There's no feeling of hurry and hassle; you leave that at the heavy wooden door when you come in. It feels like home.
I visit every time I'm in the area. Can't say enough about the place.
"Corbus et Cullis" delight.
I love this place. I have driven past the sign on the highway several times, and one day I decided to take a trip out there. Both my visitor and I were impressed by the pub and the service. We were able to get a table outside(it was packed!) and the gardens were lovely and well tended. It was so unexpectedly pleasant that I would highly recommend visiting the pub to anyone who wants an extraordinary pub experience.
