Nirvana the Flavors of India catered my wedding reception (a Punjabi wedding for 550 people) at the end of June 2013. Unfortunately, they were the only vendor hired during my 1 week long wedding who caused problems for us and did not do what was expected. They did not bring enough food to feed our guests, did not serve finger foods as we agreed upon, forgot a couple of a dishes in our contract (which they emailed us) and did not serve dinner and appetizers at the times and duration we discussed with them. They also did not check when trays were empty, leaving both rice and naan empty for long time (even though family members continued to remind them that they were empty). My mother and uncle had to continue to remind the chefs when we wanted dinner served and when dishes were empty and how to speed up their cooking time to keep up (ie. pouring 1 gulab jaman at a time in a large dish is not fast enough - not to worrk my mother showed them how to pick up the pace!). The worst part for me was that my parents spent so much money on this wedding and Nirvana caused my mom especially to be stressed out during the weddind reception and missed a lot of it because she had to deal with the Nirvana staff (which was also short staffed) and tell them how to fix the problems they created. She was also running up and downstairs but the staff complained that they didnt want to have to keep going up and downstairs (to check food and refill trays) so my mom was forced to do it for them since she wanted to ensure there was atleast something for some guests to start eating.
Upon a meeting with the owner and key staff after the event, the owner (who is not often involved in the managing of the restaurant) did apologize and take responsibility. However, the manager (Karan) and chefs who were responsible for our event did not apologize and were quite rude and did attempt to deflect blame. Nor did we ever get a good explanation from anyone of why they did not meet to plan and organize the food for our event as they claim they do for others - especially since the manager (who is in charge and says he works 7 days a week) kept his eyes down and did not speak much during the meeting.
Not sure why there was a lack of service and professionalism but my family has thrown many parties in the past and were very embarrassed that at my own reception some of our guests did not have food to eat. I hope this helps and is a word of caution before having Nirvana The Flavors of India cater an event for you.
Narula’s is one of the finest Indian restaurants in Mississauga. Providing all types of Native indian food items as well as Indian native Dishes along with delivery services within Mississauga. Our superior quality in addition to fantastic services makes them stay apart from the rest.
I am and Indian from Punjabi. We Punjabi's are a big time foodie. We love food more than anything else. Got all the vegetarian and non vegan dishes. Also includes my personal favourite kebabs, tandoori , spicy juicy chickens blended with the aroma of beautiful Indian spices it all you want.
This was my first visit to Canada and since my visit to the beautiful city of Mississauga I began to miss my favourite Indian Cuisines (hard to get anywhere else) thats what I thought but after coming to this place I think I was wrong.
Guys!! If you love Indian food .This is certainly the place to be in Mississauga, Canada .
We ordered a burger, fish and chips and medium sized pizza from this place. Here are our comments: 1. We paid for extra cheese on the pizza. This was missing! In fact it had less cheese than a normal pizza. 2. The Pizza was bland, lacked flavour and was cold and limp when it arrived. 3. The burger was horrible in taste 4. They do not have the foggiest idea of what is meant by Fish and Chips, which is supposed to be British with the batter and homestyle wedges. This one was some pakistani style spicy burnt looking stuff with fries which were stuck to each other, clearly fried when they were defrosted! 5. They bill themselves as a European/Italian restaurant, which is a complete lie. Discovered after talking to them over the phone that they are Pakistani and make Paki style food. 6. For just these 3 measly portioned and rotten food, we paid over 41 dollars! 7. When we called them back to complain (3 times) they kept making excuses that the manager was not in, they will call back and then send us a refund etc, which they never did. 8. You've got to be out of your mind to eat at this dump. I strongly supect all the 'positive' reviews are from their own stooges! You have been warned.
AWFUL PLACE TO EAT. The really tall man that is the cook is incredibly LAZY. He wouldn't know what "QUALITY CONTROL" was if it jumped up and bit him on the face. WATCH HIM PREPARE THE FOOD and you will see. The toast is ALWAYS under toasted (white). He is so LAZY he only cuts the toast 1/2 way and plops the butter on. My bacon was RAW, he wanted to deep fry it again (that's healthy), I said NO and got my money back. This cook takes NO PRIDE in his cooking, NONE what so ever. He doesn't care. I watched him take a basket of fries from the fryer and plunk them in a box without shaking off the excess grease, the fries were loaded with grease. He is so LAZY. I got fish and chips there once and the oil in the fryer wasn't hot enough so when my order was ready the batter on the fish was still white and saturated with grease, as were the fries. He could care less. HE IS SO LAZY! He doesn't care. He uses his "hands" to maul your food before you get it when he should be using tongs and plastic gloves when touching food. Health code violations here in preparing the food no doubt.
Caution to the new Chinese owners: This man is going to destroy your business. Word of mouth is the most POWERFUL form of advertising and Friendly's (Friends) Fish and Chips is at the bottom of the barrel of places to eat in Port Credit. You see mostly a lower-end clientele ( homeless looking types) eating at this business. The ketchup tastes funny and the squeeze bottles are often sticky and/or greasy, as is the salt and pepper shakers. It's a SLOP HOUSE with substandard food, in my opinion. If you are a custom to well prepared good food where the cook takes PRIDE and QUALITY CONTROL in what he serves the public then this place is NOT FOR YOU.
From past experience, I have seen the owner of the restaurant pick up my fiance cousin's baby and carry it around, away from the parent while holding onto a hot teapot. She should be thankful that the baby was safe otherwise she will be sue. Also today my family came to this restaurant to celebrate Mother's Day, we've make a reservation and still waited for more than half hour. That was fine, they told us to sit at a table while they were cleaning it from previous customers. So my family of 15 including me, sat there waiting for them to clean and set up the table, all of a sudden the owner came over and ask us to switch table. Making everyone including my grandma who has trouble walking (because she had stroke from before), walked to the other end of the restaurant near the door which it was cold with her walking cane!! I made a complain to the owner and she just said that's because you have 15 people, blah blah blah (but the 1st table we sat on fit just fine) asking us to move to a smaller table without apologizing. WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THIS!! I don't mind me walking to the other end of the restaurant but asking a elderly to walk to the other end of the restaurant squished into a smaller table and without apologizing! I WILL NEVER COME HERE EVER AGAIN! And to all moms out there, be careful of ur babies in this restaurant!!!
Quarter of the Sandwich didn't even have meat in it. I speculate that it was fat pork meat that was used.
The Drink, was certainly nothing like "Pepsi"....I'm not so sure, it could even pass the test as a Cola.
This is very poor fair, in Square One's Food Court.
I remember when it was a pleasure to eat Charley's....but not anymore.
I'm afraid, it rates as Dog food.
Went there with family and friends ..just bought buy a young muslim couple and they both were very friendly and courteous, Food was fresh and tasty , just introduced Tandoori dishes and love the chappli kebob and briyani , chinese dishes specially Hot n sour soup was amazing and crispy chiili chicken , hot garlic fish , Manchurian noodle were great ...highly recommended , allah hafiz
My friends and I used to order the largest possible Pizzas, then see who could devour their's first. Not only was this a fun game, with some exceptionally memorable moments, it also caused us all to develop an affinity for Ginos Pizza. The pizzas they firm produce are very tasty, come in a range of slices, and are affordable without being the best value in the area. which makes everything just that little bit easier, and you'll find that delivery of items is fast and efficient.
One of my favorite places to order pizza when i am in Mississauga!
Love this ginos pizza. service always excellent, and food top notch!
Great slices, nice staff and a bargain to boot. What's not to like?
I would totally recommend this ginos pizza to my friend and family.
you won't go wrong eating in or ordering out here i have always been happy when ordering from this location and eating in for lunch.
I respect Dairy Queen for long time but when I came to Canada to see a friend and went to local DQ for a blizzard this place was disgusting
the service took forever and I feel like the same garbage bags get to be reused instead of new cause the bag was empty but greasy and disgusting.
Glad to have their services for my daughter’s birthday party, as the set up was better than expected. I like the way they managed the overall birthday theme with cartoons characters, balloons, ribbons, foam spray, and of course lighting. I guess it would be very good if more items are added in the Dessert menu.
They are really rude on the phone, they rush you and if you're not ready, they tell you to call back once you'e looked at their website and figured out what you want. The food is quite terrible. They have deals but their prices aren't worth it as the food isn't really any good. Stick with the chain pizza stores, it may be a little more expensive but at least you'll enjoy your meal.
The lady taking the orders did not take our full order, told us to drive up to the window....Does not listen to people or what they are ordering, very condescending, poor attitude (March 8, 7:45 a.m.). She shortchanged us what we wanted to order after waiting in the car line for like 25 minutes....Very disappointed in the food, never any napkins served with it, service is deplorable and the value mediocre......Get this person off ordering or else you will have difficulty having satisfied customers.... Cannot be bothered to come back with my husband in the near future!!!!!!! In the past, they have got our orders wrong when they put food items in their non see thru bags or sometimes for the sandwiches they do not give out bags....
Very disatisfied customers and very upset with your Tim Hortons service.....
My experience at Zem-One was truly a wonderful one. I went with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday, and the treatment we got was nothing short of royal. The sushi was fresh and delicious, the fried tempuras crisp from the outside and juicy inside; and the Kung Pao was amazing! To top it all, the chef provided us with a complimentary dessert! a must-try for all!
This is by far the best Shawarma place in Mississauga. We drive from T.O to eat at this place. The prices 4.95 for a fat meaty Shawarma. The chicken they use seems much better then other places. All the food I've eaten at this place has been over the top. I've gone to a popular Shawarma place on Confederation and Dundas in Mississauga, and both times gave me the runs. I had to go a second time just to make sure it was their food. I highly recommend drive out to Streetsville and check this place out.
I am extremely dissapointed! I am 9 months pregnant and really wanted an eggplant parmesan from here. we called ahead to verify closing time, despite it posted here at midnight on fridays. We were told 11pm. My husband drove across town to get me a sandwich. He arrived at 10:40, to find the doors locked and lights off! I guess they didn't really mean 11pm afterall!
We went to this locations with friends last Friday, they have this deal for a medium peperoni for 7.99 plus tax, we got that plus 4 cans for 3 something. The pizza was perfect, tasty and well cooked. They were kind of busy but at the same time friendly and smiling.
We are definitely going back.
A great restaurant & neighborhood bar. I love this restaurant so much that i'm always curious to see whats cooking. Great Decor and very cozy.A great selection of beers from Polish favourites,German & Domestic Beers. They have the best wings in town, and needless to say, they have half priced wings on Monday and Wednesday.Unlike other restaurants that only serve a couple of soups, this restaurant has a minimum of at least 5 a day. They recently added all you can Pierogies on Thursdays. I love the staff and the clientele that regular this hidden Jewel. My favourite at this restaurant are the schnitzels which is served in a generous portion with a bouquet of salads. Its great to know they serve great European and Polish food in Mississauga. Keep up the good work guys.
So Disappointed. Two weeks ago any review I would have made for Wild Ginger would have been a glowing one. I loved their service, and the food was always delicious.
We used to eat at Asian Wok N Roll next door because it was the closest restaurant to our offices, until Wild Ginger opened and we tried it. The food is a million times better at Wild Ginger.
At Wild Ginger all of their food was prepared fresh while Wok N Roll's food was mediocre. Every dish at Wild Ginger was flavourful and presented nicely, the portions were better. Wok N Roll just gives you a container of rice with a little bit of 'chicken' on top (or whatever meat you ordered).
The quality of the meat was better at Wild Ginger, their sauces tasted better and the chicken was never overloaded with sauce.
Wild Ginger had delicious crisp vegetable in their dishes which was awesome compared to Wok N Roll's limp slimy veggies.
Every week 7-8 of our staff got take-out at least once a week, usually more, now that will be changing.
Today I called and ordered as usual, the person who answered the phone was different but didn't mention anything to me about any changes.
When I got to Wild Ginger there were signs on their door saying they were under renovations and were operating out of Wok N Roll next door...ok... so I go there and pay for the food (Three meals and Sushi). First they did not have the wonton soup I ordered, they didn't tell me that when I called either. Then I get back to the office and while the meals are the correct type, they are all clearly Wok N Roll food. Disgusting. My dish isn't even worth eating.
I was upset and called back and I spoke to whoever answered the phone, told them I ordered Wild Ginger, not Wok N Roll. She told me that they are now operating as one restaurant and that the food will be Wok N Roll food from now on.
So that ends our company's lunches to Wild Ginger.
We are so disappointed, we had switched to Wild Ginger from Wok N Roll because the food was so much better, and now we need to find another place for our business.
Went to Kandahar Kabab this weekend and had a taste of their Lamb chops kabab which was really goooood!
The meat was tender and juicy, nicely flavored with just the right amount of serving, and the price is reasonable.
I recommend this restaurant for all kabab lovers out there or for people who just want to have a taste of something extraordinary!
