Mississauga Restaurant Reviews
Konkan Delite3181 Wolfedale Rd, Mississauga
Large-Scale Success
By rebecca.mcneil of Toronto, Canada (1 Review)
Submitted Monday, February 13, 2012 - 3:57pm [Catering]

I recently ran a large event at the University of Toronto catered by Konkan Delite, and the buffet was an absolute hit! Of our 1 000 guests, I have yet to hear anything but positive reviews of all the food they provided for us. Our buffet was comprised mainly of selections off their Western menu, which only accounts for a small portion of what they have to offer. They helped us structure our menu with options for most dietary restrictions, which our attendees appreciated very much.

Their service is incredibly friendly, and the value for your money is almost unbelievable. I would definitely encourage anyone in need of catering to give them a call, as I would never again think twice about whom to give my business to!

Solara1731 Lakeshore West, Mississauga
Best New Restaurant in Mississauga !!!!
By Grace Nancy of Mississauga (1 Review)

The menu was simple and in general very good. We went on a Thursday night and wish we bought a bottle of wine. They were featuring "Corkless Thursdays" where we could've bought our own bottle wine and not pay corkage fees. Unheard of on Thursday Nights!! Most Restaurants do it on a Monday or Tuesday but my husband and I love going out later on the week so this works perfectly !

We started off with the scallops, by the end of it we cleaned the plate with the bread! My husband had the lamb burger and it was delicious! I had the Pork tenderloin which was one of their new items and I would have it again and again! The other great thing about this restaurant is that they changed their menu consistently to the seasons! Unlike other restaurants in the area who have the same menu for the past 5-25 years .

Marvelous service by Jose, she is a gem. The general manager checked on us and asked how our evening was which most restaurants never do. He mentioned all the great features they added to the restaurant and I cant wait for their live music coming this weekend.

Solara is a restaurant Mississauga had been waiting for and wish them all the best !

-Grace

I have been going here with my girlfriends since university. Their products are consistently good. My family also comes by for lunch or dessert on a regular basis. Their homemade ice cream is delicious. Great place to meet up - much better than going to the coffee chain in the same complex. I love supporting this local business - not only because their local but they offer great products.

Disappointed
By chillmom2 of Mississauga (3 Reviews)
Submitted Saturday, January 7, 2012 - 9:47am [Dine in]

I have been asked to meet at Panera for meetings three times over the last few months - they have seating, coffee and WiFi. However, I have been disappointed each time with their baked goods. On two occasions I asked them to microwave the item for a few seconds to hopefully soften it. The suprising thing is that I come in the morning - the goods should be fresh. After being to Artisano's (who have great products) Panera is fairly disappointing.

I recently discovered Swirls through a friend who uses them all the time because they are nut-free. I was pleasantly surprised that they use Swiss meringue type icing instead of sugar frosting. My husband and I really really enjoyed the vanilla, lemon and red velvet cupcakes. My kids really loved the chocolate. For the last few weeks (since Christmas) my family has been picking them us as a weekly treat. We love that we can pick up just enough to have a nice dessert. What a great find!

Worst Customer Service

Ok, so i have been to this restaurant numerous times. The food is good but service is terrible. Apparently the owners do not care about any customer service. You just have to be lucky that everyhting should go ok when you dine or take out at this place.
This past tuesday i dropped few people at the toronto airport and decided to do a take out on my way home. I gave my order and everything went well. Just after few minutes when i hopped on the highway , all the food spilled in the car and i got really upset so i called the restaurant and spoke to the server(Varun) who did not seems to really care and i hung up. But after few minutes i called the restaurant again and wanted to speak to the manager. The manager was not there so Varun offered me to put my call throught to the owner to which i agreed, after putting me on the brief hold he said the owners are not here(complete lie). So he said that he can take my number and ask the owners to call me back, i asked him that is it for sure that they will call, then he got confused and said i am not sure. That shows that the owners did not want to deal with the problem. I really did not want anything since i was already away but a little apology but to this date owners hasn't called me back. Varun did not even offer me to replace my meal, forget about the damage done to my car.

Another note- every server has told me that they do not receive tips . The owner keep all the tips so next time if you ever want to leave a tip for a server, please give it in his hand when no one is looking at you. There is no sense of giving extra 15-20 % to the owners. I believe they just take advantage of all the students who are in despirate need of jobs to cover up their educational expenses.

They have lost my business and everyone i know.

Atrocious Order of P.02 BEEF NOODLE MEDIUM - TRIPE, TENDON & BRISKET.
By michelleramos84 of Mississauga, Ontario (1 Review)
Submitted Monday, December 5, 2011 - 4:46pm [Dine in]

Okay, I usually eat at Pho Dau Bo on 1125 Dundas St E
Mississauga, ON. I had no time to drive down there on my dinner break so I decided to walk into Pho 88.
I've been going to this Pho 88 since I was 12 (SINCE 1999).
The flavour was awesome before - the richness of the soup was still there.

I ordered the P.02 - Pho nam Sach (Beef brisket, tendon and tripe.) (medium)
When the waitress gave it to me, THERE WAS NO TRIPE AND TENDON.. Just Beef briskets. I told her about the tripe and tendon missing and her excuse was:
"Ohhh, maybe tripe is so small you don't see it."

What are you talking about? There was NONE~ I am honestly an AVID PHO NOODLE EATER AND SORRY TO SAY, was the FIRST time anyone got my order wrong and give me terrible tasting broth!!

For some ODD reason, the new chef made the soup taste like water, salt and beef fat. No anise, cloves, cinnamon, coriander seed, not even a hint of garlic!!! OMG, WHAT KIND OF PHO NOODLE DISH IS THIS? WATERY SALTY BEEF FAT!

I gave constructive criticism towards the waitress hoping she would pass on the room for improvement. But I'm sure she wanted to ignore me.

This place is not the best place to get the full rich broth you would expect from an authentic Pho Beef Noodle dish.
GO TO PHO DAU BO. THE BEST BROTH IN THE LOCAL AREA!!!!!

Terrible food & total a waste of money.

The other reviewer got it right on. The food was awful & when we went to return the falafel the staff lady asked if we even knew what it was supposed to taste like! Not like cinnimon patties, jeez. "Salad" was a plate full of parsley & onions with tasteless sauce... really, who can eat a bowl of parsley?!?! The prices were good (now we know why) plus we had a voucher for 50% off.... still not worth it. I mistakenly gave a $5 tip before tasting the food so got $30 worth of food & still went home hungry.
YUCK all around. Do NOT go here, you will regret it!

Being in the industry, I'm probably the toughest critic of all. When it comes to food and service I don't expect anything less than perfect. I can honestly say everything went seamlessly. The only thing I would recommend is tv's in the dining room. Try the banana crusted chicken, SO deelish! Will definitely return on a regular basis.

Great pizza, great wings, cold beer, incredible staff! This is my ultime favourite place to eat! You can take the family, go for beers with the guys and even take my old lady out! :) Our whole family loves it! I usually take the family out on a Sunday or a Wednesday, we try to make it a weekly event! My whole hockey team loves the selection of food, because there is more than just pizza and wings (even though those are my faves), they have ribs, pasta, hamburgers, spicy dishes, etc. the list goes on. I love how informative and fun the staff were at this location, they really made our delicious meal an even better experience!

Terrible Restaurant, Will Never Visit Again
By FineFoods of Mississauga ontario (1 Review)
Submitted Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 6:51pm [Dine in]

I have no doubt in my mind that the user who made the review before me is the owner or an employee at this "restaurant". The visit to Shahi Grill was terrible. I was looking for a place to eat with my wife and saw this place, whose exterior and interior did not look bad. However on a chilly day in November, they did not care to turn on the heat for their customers, we might as well have been eating outside. The chef was was stingy when putting the meat and toppings in the shawarma, we had to ask several times for him to put more.

The food was mediocre at best, and didn't meet the value that we paid for.

Very dissatisfied customer and will never visit again.

Went to the restaurant after a friend mentioned it, and am glad I did. The food they have is tasty while not overly spicy, and for the softies, their bread and white sauce really help soothe the tongue after it builds up. The plates are huuuge and their combos are enough for two women to eat (That's what we did!)

The restaurant itself is clean and very nice, with soft lighting and the booths along the wall are really comfortable. I really enjoyed looking at the collage they have on the wall with different pictures of Afghan scenes.

The staff is friendly and attentive and we had a blast on our first visit. The second time we went though, it was so full we ended up leaving without eating. They said the waiting time was over an hour! So beware if you're going at lunch time, cuz it can get really packed!

I hate to say it, but will not be visiting swirls again. I was so disappointed by these cupcakes. Even though I purchased 5 different flavors of cupcakes, they all tasted the same. Basically its the same base for most, chocolate or vanilla and then they put their version of icing on top of it, which was not at all butter cream related. Icing was more of a whip cream base but lardy.
All in all, did not like the cupcakes and will not be going back. Even my 6 year old daughter didn't like them and she loves anything sweet.
Service and staff were unfriendly and not helpful. Take my advice and don't waste your time or money.

Kobe Sushi is now Pad Thai and Sushi
By Ryan Tripp of Mississauga (1 Review)
Submitted Monday, August 8, 2011 - 10:49am [Dine in]

I have been going to Kobe Sushi now for several years. After the renovations the name changed to Pad Thai and Sushi. Tragically more changed then just the appearance of the location which actually was an improvement. Firstly the servers are now rude and constantly told us that we will get charged if we over order (which we didn't and never have). They messed up several items on our order and tried multiple times to give us items we didn’t order. The previous server knew us and always was very nice and polite. As for the food, my previous lunch favorite was the Fire Dragon Roll which was completely destroyed. It used to be fresh and flavorful and is now bland and stale. The rice was over cooked, the shrimp tempura was dry and cold and the spicy sauce tasted sour. Lastly the new menu items are also bad, the chicken teriyaki was a massive portion of dry over cooked flavorless bites of chicken. The Pad Thai was flavorless as well which was surprising considering the name of the restaurant. Sadly this is the last time I will go to this restaurant after going here consistently once a week for the past two years as well as bring many many guests along with me.

I drive 30 minutes from Milton to go to Isis for Shawarma. A new restaurant near Streetsville where the taste is outstanding, the price is very affordable and the owner is polite and attentive! I no longer have to search for a reliable shawarma restaurant. The baba ghanoush is also a solid choice for an appetizer. Unlike some other restaurants, Isis DOES NOT sacrifice quality for price. Keep up the good work!

I went with my family to celebrate Father's day at Moxie (on Argentia Road), the whole experience was not enjoyable at all, I have ordered the roast beet salad and twice the beets were oxidised and looked really bad to the extent that I did cancel the order, my wine glass was chipped and the food took for ever, the empty plates were on table for more than 1/2 an hour, I had to ask the server to pick them up!!!! but what really made it horrible was that we had to wait for not less than an hour to settle the bill !!!! at the end the server swiped the wrong credit card for my bill !!!!! it was my first time there yes, but definitely the LAST TIME.
