By far the best pizza I have ever eaten! I don't know how any other pizza place in Mission actually stays in business. There are so many reasons Petes is so much better
- they use edam cheese with their mozza cheese
- their pizza crust is never oily (which is one of the first things I noticed)
- they have a lot of pizza's that you wouldn't normally find other places (Thai,Indian inspired pizza's)
- their pizza always looks so good, tastes even better and knowing I will never be disappointed by it!
so happy Mission has such awesome pizza!
No real faults to this place except for the lack of parking.
The servers could be a bit better.
Burger and beer nights for fundraisers are not very well organized.
The food was good - I had the chicken burger with cheese with fries. They do have great specials on certain nights. I will go back.
Went there on Sunday with my wife and had the Sunday burger special. Good burger with fresh cut fries for only $2.99. Best deal ever! It was a really good burger and the price was insanely cheap. Drink specials were good and all appetizers were on special after nine but we were full from our burgers. Will definitely go back.
I was lucky enough to find Mission Springs on the night I moved into town. Great food above standard Pub grade and they have there own house beer, which you can get a FREE tasters sample if you have never been before! Good atmosphere, good people. Dont go for the Sunday brunch though as it gets busy and the staff seem to get confused with alot of people around. All in all, I will be back and have been back many times!
My wife and went in for a decent meal before a movie. I ordered a philly sandwich and she ordered the stuffed cannelloni. My sandwich was just ok, but the stuffed cannelloni was brutal. It came to the table half frozen so we sent it back. The waitress told us she would have it re microwaved for us. Microwave? Why are microwaves even in kitchens......? When the waitress brought it back surprise surprise it was still frozen, or at least the chicken was. We asked for our bill at this point and left the food. A manager came over and asked if everything was ok, so I told him we were not happy with the service and the food. He said sorry and hoped we had better luck on our next visit. Next visit? umm I dont think so. No discount given. Nothing. All this while they have "fresh, fresh, fresh" sign all over the place. Anything you put through a microwave is not fresh by my standards.
I had recently popped into my local COBS BREAD store located in Mission BC for the first time in almost 1 year. I had heard through a friend that the store was under new ownership and had become quite the attraction in our small town. As a supporter of the community, I had decided to give it another chance as my first experience was quit below par. The second I had walked into the store, I was greeted by the new owner in such a sincere and appreciative way, it made me feel as though nothing else mattered but me. He went completely out of his way to provide me with a shopping experience that I have never received before. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, one of his staff came up to the front as was just as equally pleasant and cheerful! This was not by any means a fluke as I have been in many times since and received nothing but excellent excellent service every time. They are persistent in their quality of bread and their policy that every customer leaves happy no matter what! I had a bad misconception in the past that the store was a little expensive and I just want to say that this isn't the case at all. The bread is nothing but TOP QUALITY and they also provide many combos when purchasing multiple items. (Cheaper than the Super Market!) I will never feed my family anything but Cobs for their bread and the bread is just a small reason why I continue to shop there weekly!
Keep up the great work!!
Went to this restaurant once. Still remember it all. That says alot about the quality of this restaurant.
Had their chicken parmesan and let me say this is the best chicken parmesan outside of wynn hotel in las vegas. If it wasn't so far away, i would be a regular to this restaurant. Portion is big, but most importantly the taste is awesome.
I was in Mission visiting a pal of mine when we both felt the need for caffeine. Since CBCTH was nearby, we scampered over there. The shop is in a strip mall but the interior was nice, with plank tables, comfy chairs and a fake fireplace, etc. Plus it was clean, which is very important. Service was good, and the friendly barista seemed to know about the coffee she was selling. I had an Americano, and my pal had an iced mocha. Strangely, they both came in pint-size beer mugs. My coffee tasted fine and my pal reported his mocha was excellent. As for value, I would say the prices were in about the middle of the range. All in all an unexpectedly good experience on the edge of civilization…
When the urge comes to beat the gas taxes, and the belly is empty, She Who Must Be Obeyed (SWMBO for Short) and I make the arduous trek out to Mission to hit Rockos...... (Arduous as in, we are hungry, in Maple Ridge, and they are in Mission!) All the servers smile through the sheen of sweat from racing around delivering huge amounts of gloriously filling and severely unhealthy food to the awaiting masses. The place is filled with 50's signage (my fav is "Unattended children will be sold as slaves" Sit down, smile, order, eat, smile, waddle over to the till to pay, waddle out to car, leave. Still wondering who the heck is Dale who deserves his own seat.......one day, he'll be there, and I'll ask, until then, I'll just eat the grub, fork over the tip (Well deserved as they are always busy and boy do they work hard!) Smile and drive away. (BTW, the older lady who serves (She's around 27 ish not one the young gals around 19), loves to give it back to you if you whine and complain about no Coke only Pepsi, a welcome oasis in a desert of capitulation........
I moved to Mission not all that long ago and have been looking for a good place to get pizza, so I've been trying a few out. This is a crappy looking little hole-in-the-wall takeout place on the west edge of Mission city so I didn't really know what to expect when I gave it a try. The place was quick and efficient, and the pizza was great. Good taste, very filling, and the true mark of good pizza - just as good the next morning after a quick reheating.
My rating on ambiance is a nonsensical rating, like I said above it kinda looks like a crappy hole in the wall place, but that should definitely NOT be a factor in rating this place overall as it's a takeout place and the quality of the actual product is very good. And in these days of 2 large special pizzas running to almost $40 anywhere else, the fact that you can get 2 loaded larges here for less than $30 is a great thing.
I have eaten in many Greek Restaurants in the Lower Mainland and this little gem has the best chicken souvlaki that I have ever eaten. It is always perfectly grilled and tender. The roast potates and greek salad that come with it are always fresh. The Sagnaki is also excellent there and perfectly fried and served with fresh lemon.
I have been to Ember twice and they do Portugese Chicken better than Nando's. You get a quarter chicken dinner with two sides for $9.00 and you can't beat that for value.
I have also had theie Mr. Beefy Burger which is made with a fresh burger and is excellent and cheap at $8.00.
The only thing is, is that eating there it is really noisy due to loud music, it would be nice to be able to talk to my dining partner a little easier. Otherwise a great casual place.
I went to this place with a group of friends after a weekend of camping, and it was excellent. There were 8 of us total, and our food came out within about 10 minutes of ordering. Two of us had the bacon cheeseburger and it was amazing. The poutine is a must, although it's not hard to screw that up. I also had a chocolate shake, which was also fantastic.
Pricing was about $10 for a burger plate with fries, with substitutions for salad or poutine being about $2.
The diner was really well done, with funny little pictures and signs on the walls, giving it a real 50's feel.
The service was fantastic. The server knew just when to come by and when to leave us alone! Very friendly and polite servers!
I really liked this place overall. My friends have been coming here for years and loved it, and I've tried it once and am hooked!
I have eaten at Prawn Garden several times and it has always been pretty good. It's never brilliant, just decent. The food tastes fresh and seems to use quality ingredients. For mission it's really not bad Chinese food. The prices are pretty fair as well. I thought the Singapore noodles were quite good as was the crispy pork chops with salt and chili.
I have eaten at Eleni's many times and it is definitely and old school Greek diner sort of place. The decor is pretty bad. Fake plants, worn carpets, fluorescent lighting. The service is just OK. Prices are just OK. But, the food is actually pretty good and the burgers are excellent. The fries are excellent too and are fresh, not frozen. Caesar salad is very good because the dressing is very tasty and made in house.
Even though it is a small restaurant on the main street of Mission, the friendly service and fresh sushi will keep you coming back to Akasaka. I have them deliver to my house almost every weekend and they even delivered during one of those heavy snowfalls! I recommend the dynamite roll and the salmon cone sushi, but it's all great.
