I went to this place with a group of friends after a weekend of camping, and it was excellent. There were 8 of us total, and our food came out within about 10 minutes of ordering. Two of us had the bacon cheeseburger and it was amazing. The poutine is a must, although it's not hard to screw that up. I also had a chocolate shake, which was also fantastic.
Pricing was about $10 for a burger plate with fries, with substitutions for salad or poutine being about $2.
The diner was really well done, with funny little pictures and signs on the walls, giving it a real 50's feel.
The service was fantastic. The server knew just when to come by and when to leave us alone! Very friendly and polite servers!
I really liked this place overall. My friends have been coming here for years and loved it, and I've tried it once and am hooked!
When the urge comes to beat the gas taxes, and the belly is empty, She Who Must Be Obeyed (SWMBO for Short) and I make the arduous trek out to Mission to hit Rockos...... (Arduous as in, we are hungry, in Maple Ridge, and they are in Mission!) All the servers smile through the sheen of sweat from racing around delivering huge amounts of gloriously filling and severely unhealthy food to the awaiting masses. The place is filled with 50's signage (my fav is "Unattended children will be sold as slaves" Sit down, smile, order, eat, smile, waddle over to the till to pay, waddle out to car, leave. Still wondering who the heck is Dale who deserves his own seat.......one day, he'll be there, and I'll ask, until then, I'll just eat the grub, fork over the tip (Well deserved as they are always busy and boy do they work hard!) Smile and drive away. (BTW, the older lady who serves (She's around 27 ish not one the young gals around 19), loves to give it back to you if you whine and complain about no Coke only Pepsi, a welcome oasis in a desert of capitulation........
