Really Good!

I recently had the chance to try out the food from Yummy House. Considering it is Chinese food, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out. The honey garlic roasted pork was delicious. It was also very nice to see a twist on an old dish, the chow-mein was very good. The best was their spicy pork, my word it was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a delicious treat.

Came into the restaurant last week for dinner with my family and was quite suprised by the quality of this little restaurant in downtown Mission. Loved the rolls ( Deep Friend Cali and Chicken Teryaki ) and the salmon sashimi. Wife loved the tempura . Owner was very pleasent.. will dine in again very soon.

This place used to be in Superstore and when it was there they had rather good food. The spicy pork was easily the best I've ever had. However, now that they've moved to First ave it has gone down in so many ways. A couple friends and I ordered a combo of four with chow mein noodles, beef and broccoli, deep fried shrimp, and lemon chicken. Also a combo of two with more chow mein and spicy pork. An order of wonton soup and dumplings on the side.
SO, to start we waited over an hour before calling and asking where our meal was.. They said they had just left so we waited another 20 minutes until it finally arrived. The total they gave us when we called was 28 dollars. The lady who delivered gave us a different total of 30$. The delivery lady looked very sloppy and almost homeless. She didn't have any change on her or so she said, and seemed very offended when I didn't give her a tip. So that gave gave them a 2 for service.
The food... was horrible. I didn't have very high expectations because I had heard they went down in quality but this was insanely bad. The noodles were soggy, cold and just bland tasting. The lemon chicken was a grey colour and actually just tasted like lemon soap. The beef and broccoli was obviously sitting in a dish under a heat lamp for a long time. It was mushy and also soggy. The spicy pork, again...soggy and old tasting. However it was the least horrid of all the food. Wonton soup had all kinds of vegetables that I know shouldn't be in a wonton soup. Pea's and celery for example. What took the cake for horrible was the dumplings. I don't even know.... what we ate. It had hard clumps in it, way too chewy, soggy and old tasting...again. This was the first time I threw out more than I ate. This is all why the food got a 1.

So in conclusion I highly recommend to anyone thinking of trying this place, don't. Just don't do it. This was hands down one of the worst meals I've had. Bad enough that I took the time to create an account just to warn people of Yummy House.

Thought since cars are always there and movies happen to be filmed there,,, food may be a reason for such. WRONG..... ordering food was a big mistake.....Milkshakes and service are great and outstanding. When the food came it went downhill. Was expecting it to be different good.. but everything was made with a greasy spoon... burgers were tasted like they were bought from safeway and poutine was not "famous" in any way.... the crown jewel of the day was ordering mac and cheese for our kids and when it arrived... there were deep fried triangles stolen from M & M meats.... Don't know how Kraft dinner is hard to come up with. Prices were way to high considering the deep fried and greasy spoon nature of the culinary skillset...

Service was good to great.. not there fault the food is the opposite. Been there once.... and enough....

Best for Chinese in Mission

Easily the best Chinese food in Mission. I've been coming here for the past 20 years and it is always consistantly good. Service is always great and very friendly. Good value for the amount of food. My favourite and recommended dishes are the Lettuce Wrap and Salt and Pepper Prawns :) I even make the drive from Abbotsford just to go eat IN once a month.

Sure, the buffet is okay if you like boxed food and MSG. Hair in the buffet trays and the server accused me of putting it there when I had hair in my wonton soup. It was blond hair and I am a brunette.
I let it slide because they brought out a whole new batch of the soup. I ate a few of the dishes, and my husband ate the dim sum. The black bean beef was fairly good, as was the Kung Pao Chicken, that had a spicy kick to it.

The ambiance was to be desired, especially the fact that the dishes were often dirty.
The washroom doors did not lock, and there was no soap so I could not wash my hands, and I asked them about getting some soap and they pretty much acted like they didn't know what I was talking about.

If they get the bathroom locks fixed I MIGHT go back there again. But I doubt it.

Although I wouldn't say this is the best sushi ever it is good and very well priced. They make us feel welcome, and have learned all our names and our usual orders. It feels like visiting friends. We love that they great our children and are always happy to see them. I could go to other sushi places in mission and be treated like a number but why?? So I can pay more for sushi that is only a touch better and I am rushed in and out... NO Thanks!!

Waste of money, Waste of time.

We are surrounded by moments in life that we cannot miss, and this is one you can. Rockwell's is another example of how inexperienced men who know nothing about the restaurant industry open franchises, and struggle each day to keep their customers.

First of all, the dining room was empty at 7pm on a Friday night. Swastika signs were engraved along the edges as you enter the establishment. I leave it up to you to decide whether that is professional or not. There were a few middle aged men at the bar drinking beer. Cant go wrong with 2.99 sleeves of bud. Well you can, my husband ordered one, and it was flat. The waitress informed us that the hoses are leaking pressure and all of their beverages are flat. Yet we decided to give it a complete honest good chance, and stayed for dinner. Why do we torture ourselves, are we masochists?

We sat at one of the high tops in the bar. The fireplace emitted a gust of wind every minute or so, making the entire bar area chilly. I ordered a Strawberry Colada, and it was terrible. The alcohol spilled out of the sides of the cup, and when i requested that they blend it, instead of pouring the liquor down to the bottom, the waitress told us the owner insists on this way of preparation to make sure there is no alcohol wastage, Yet the wastage was on my table. I asked her to remake it in a bigger cup, and stirred it with my straw.

Food wise, overpriced, $12 for 8 wings accompanied by 3 pieces of celery and carrots. I asked for the wings to come half hot, and half plain, the server said this was not possible. I asked for a side of mayonnaise, and was not impressed when i saw the $1 miscellaneous charge on my bill later. My husbands calamari was child size, but it did come on a pretty fancy new plate. We like rectangle plates, but we didn't come here to admire plates, we came here to eat...Seafood angel hair pasta come overcooked, but such is normal 90 % of the time in bars, it had 3 pieces of prawns, and 3 pieces of tiny scallops for $27. My husband was disappointed that they do not offer prime rib, and ordered a steak. The mushroom topping was $8, but he enjoyed his meal.

I would not recommend this place to anyone, I will never go there for dinner again unless i lose my sanity or get severe memory loss. I am embarrassed for Mission to have this disgrace in it's town. On the other hand, you might want to try Eleni's restaurant if you're craving a good meal, properly mixed drinks, and good service.

We always order Mission J's Pizza for our Abby Law Office. The food is always delivered piping hot, and is consistently good. We can't wait for them to start their donairs and Indian menu - I know we'll be ordering from there on a consistent basis - even more than we do now...

Ask for Bob - he'll set you up! Great rates for catering parties (we did our Christmas party with them last year).

Definitely worth a try!

Been here so many times that I know the owners by name. The lamb is to die for, as is the calamari. Very large servings and always made fresh and hot. Greek salad is wonderful as they make their own dressing for it. Nikos and Vicki make their own tzatziki which is enough to come back for alone. My favorite is calamari with extra tzatziki, Greek salad and no potato (the rice is heavenly). If you want a major feed at a moderate price (calamari dinner is $13.95) this is the spot to go. There are other Greek establishments in Mission, but they can't hold a candle to this one.

Going Down The Drain - Hooped!!

I was at this place several different times since it opened last June. When it first opened they had a kitchen manager or chef (not sure which) who I met and I truly enjoyed his products. He had a prime rib rub that was to die for and also had a staff who were really excited working with him to bring the place on line.
Since then, I have been there a few times and was told he left the restaurant and that the management has done a lot of changing of the staff. The quality of the food has dropped over my last 2 visits and at my last visit it was so poor that I just left it and paid my bill, then left. I have been a chef and restauranteur for over 45 years and thought that this place would be a great addition to the Mission dining scene, but I am sorry to say that the owner(s) have missed the mark seriously. By losing the guy I met, they have drastically reduced their appeal to this respondent at least.
I am telling all the people I know in the area to avoid eating there. There is a great Greek restaurant just a block and a half east, called Eleni's. Calamari and lamb to die for.

We live in Mission and dine out a fair bit. We usually go for Sushi but were in the mood for fish and chips so we decided to try out Missions only fish and chip shop. The food was really nasty, dried out, chewy and bland. To add to the experience the service was laughably bad. I don't think the people staffing the place really wanted our business and it showed. I would not go back if they were giving it away.

This place used to be in The Real Canadian Superstore before moving to 1st Ave.

Food is decent. It's usually been sitting there for a little while, as this is mostly pre-made chinese sitting in the warming trays waiting for you to choose what you would like.

The (owner?) is really nice, always welcoming and friendly when you enter, if he's behind the counter. Will happily offer you a taste of anything your looking at getting.

That being said they fill up your styrofoam trays with lots of food. Everything I've tried has been really good, nothing bad.

If you want fast chinese take-out, this is place to go to.

Forgot the meat in the burger!
By makaveligurl of Mission (8 Reviews)
Submitted Wednesday, December 28, 2011 - 1:48am [Dine in]

Yup, you read right, they forgot the meat in my moms burger! Now this had happened to me once, at McDonalds, where it really wasn't a huge surprise. But a sit down restaurant that's not fast food? And a NEW restaurant at that? I was really looking forward to eating here, a brand new place in little Mission. What a disappointment.

The server seemed indifferent to the obviously stupid oversight. Simply returned it and brought back a burger with meat.

The food itself was barely passable, and the prices were too high for what you get. (or don't get)

And there was no "Sorry about forgeting to put the meat pattie in your burger" or any apology whatsover. What a waste of money and time. And of course no percent taken off the bill.

I've told everyone I know, and I will never return. It's a great location right on 1st Ave. in Mission. Let's hope this place is gone and replaced with a great restaurant instead.

Nothing great. I did have one bad experience where the (owner?) sat there ignoring me while chatting on the phone. After about 10 minutes of him chatting away he finally came to help me. No sorry, nothing. I wasn't impressed to say the least.

I only go here if it's convienent.

I've been here a handful of times. It's a tiny little place, tucked behind/off of the main street in Mission.

The food is decent, nothing to write home about. I figured it a little pricey for portion size and the flavour wasn't that great.

They do have delicious fresh baked bread that I enjoyed very much. But that was about it. I felt that I could make everything else (especially the ribs) much better at home.

Might go back to try a sandwich but the BBQ I'll leave to myself and spouse.
