Fat burger has great burgers. I have tried it a few times. The kids meals are not too bad value, about $4.50 for a kids meal and the kids seem to like the burgers. The all day breakfast is a pretty good deal. The burgers are very good! I would commend leaving a tip, if you don't leave a tip you are guaranteed to be disappointed. I found this out on my first visit. The burger I had ordered, the sauce that was supposed to be on it was almost non- existant. I did ask for more sauce afterwards. After you order you pay for your order and if you leave a tip, the cashier will announce in the kitchen, fat tip. It made me really question this "fat tip" call out when you leave a tip. What if you don't leave a tip? Should you maybe keep one eye on the kitchen staff as they are preparing your meal? I don't know, it just doesn't seem right. Usually I tip based on service. Here you have to tip to get service. I think I will tip just to stay safe. I don't go here too often as$10 for 1 burger is pretty steep,
I tried the Buffalo Wings for the first time. I shuttered at the price. $13.50 for 10 wings. I don't think I will be coming back here for wings. They were very good, but wow, this was a total rip off.
Despite the high prices, the place is still quite busy, people do love Fatburger.
Just wondering what experiences others have had who did not tip. Write a review.
Over all I liked the place and will go back, just not too often.
just a regular buffet place, nothing special, could use a décor upgrade, and better cleaning staff. the food was ok, not much options, but what was there was ok, good enough if your hungry, but I will only go there if it is not my choice lol
I used to love rocko's, used to be one of my fave spots, but eww now it just a regular burger and frie place, just like anywhere else. the fries and burgers are definatley different now, and taste different. taste like frozen patties and frozen fries, not what rockos was about. will def not go back,
We went to the Mission Springs Brewing Company (Pub) yesterday. Being the May long weekend Holiday we were surprised by the lack of patrons.
Once again, as with previous visits; the waitress, the service and the quality of food was disappointing. In fact, we did not even eat the food they provided as it was under cooked, soggy with no apologies offered even when the server agreed with our complaint.
This pub is now on our 'Never Go To Again' list.
We have tried all the sushi restaurants in Mission now.
Without a doubt Sushi Te Japanese Restaurant is consistently the best of the bunch!
All their rolls are made with only the freshest ingredients. Albeit some of the slices from some of the rolls are rather large for one mouthful!
The young servers are always pleasant!
A word of caution for take-out orders is that it can get busy and lineups are not uncommon.
I have stopped in at Sisto's Pub a number of times. I am always amazed at how long it take that same old tired and unhappy server to make it to my table. She never has a smile on her face or offers a greeting.
Any thirsty customer would be better off finding two better pubs just west of their location.
This place used to have decent Chinese food judged by our Western palates. Not any more.
There are places that are worse than this in Mission for Chinese food but that's not saying much.
Best take the time to head into Abbotsford or Maple Ridge to find this style of cuisine.
We just moved to Mission; we needed some food and decided on Chinese. We truly didn't expect much - but it was incredible to be honest! Very fresh and tasty. The service was patient and friendly. We ordered the Szechuan beef & chicken, prawns in black bean sauce, veggie chow mein, fried rice - all wonderful! Can't wait to go back! Thanks!
I came her first for dim sum; which by the way was excellent. Came back for dinner service and was not disappointed, the food is tasty, well prepared and served by friendly staff.
The deep fried wontons are crispy and light, the dipping sauce is thick and delicious.
I haven't tried any soups yet - maybe in the winter.
The lemon chicken is tender and not at all bland. Their sweet & sour sauce is very good, not thin and runny like some places. I love the beef dishes because the meat is thinly cut and very tender, especially good with black bean sauce. Since I hate peas in rice they make a "plain" fried rice with green beans instead of peas, I love it!
Nice that they will customize dishes for those with allergies or dislikes.
Always enjoy the meals, lots to take home and the service is outstanding.
Beats all the Chinese restaurants in Chilliwack or Abbotsford!
My wife and I, and her brother's family dropped in for an after-work meal to celebrate a birthday and get something to eat. One of the things we noticed shortly after entering the place, was the life-sized wood carving of a man WITH A LARGE ERECT PENIS in his hand, in a masturbation pose, over by the bar!! You think I'm kidding, check it out yourself.
Now, I am absolutely in no way a prude, but such a display was way over the line. Tacky, tasteless and offensive to everyone in my party. I mean come on, who in his right mind would find that kind of thing interesting, funny, sexy, etc., other than maybe drunk 19 year old boys? We were all over 35, and most of the diners were over 40.
Anyway, it doesn't get better from here on. Our table ordered 6 soda drinks of which only 2 were refilled during our whole time there. We had asked for 6 refills and the server gave us 2 and walked away.
When she came back quite a while later, we ordered 5 pizzas and a burger. It took a long time to get our food, even though the pub wasn't that busy. Our meat lovers pizzas were HORRIBLE, worst we''ve ever had. They tasted like the cheapest STORE-BOUGHT FROZEN PIZZAS, with cheap, plastic-looking/tasting meat and cheese. There was a lot of salami and pepperoni, but not much discernible beef or ham or anything else that was supposed to be on it. The cheese was almost un-melted, tasted like processed cheese, bland, chewy and tasteless. At $ 21 for a medium, these pizzas are a huge rip-off!!
Our waitress rarely came into our zone and when we finally grabbed her attention and complained, she seemed quite indifferent and remarked at how we had eaten most of them, and her words and tone of voice implied that were just complainer-types that simply wanted a free meal.
Her tone of voice put all of us off, we were quite shocked at such poor customer service and the hostility we were receiving from her. We told her the reason we ate most of the pizzas was because we were very hungry after work, and since it had taken 45 minutes to get our food we didn't want to wait another long time to get new pizzas, as it was already past 9 pm and we were tired and didn't want to stay that long in the first place.
We were all unimpressed with having to explain ourselves, as if we were under interrogation for complaining! You know what I'm talking about.
Back to my beginning statement, it was my brother's birthday. We told the waitress it was this special occasion, you'd think someone on staff would try to make it a special occasion for us. No, they didn't. It was like, whatever.
But I will just sum up my review.
My ratings : a 1 for food......
a 1 for service, for poor attitude waitress, poor service, poor attention to our needs, such as refills, etc.
a 1 for value, cuz $21 for cheapo frozen pizza-quality is a negative value as far as I'm concerned.
Ambiance............... offensive pornographic statues do not even rate a one, I would have gave a ZERO if I could have. Plus some of the waitresses dressed like they worked in a stripper bar.
Next time I'll just go to the Red Robin in Abbotsford.......................
I recently had the chance to try out the food from Yummy House. Considering it is Chinese food, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out. The honey garlic roasted pork was delicious. It was also very nice to see a twist on an old dish, the chow-mein was very good. The best was their spicy pork, my word it was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a delicious treat.
Came into the restaurant last week for dinner with my family and was quite suprised by the quality of this little restaurant in downtown Mission. Loved the rolls ( Deep Friend Cali and Chicken Teryaki ) and the salmon sashimi. Wife loved the tempura . Owner was very pleasent.. will dine in again very soon.
Come into the Yummy House once a week on my home from work. Lots to choose from and defintely is easy on the wallet... Nothing to say but good things about them . Foods pretty tasty and best thing is its a quick go. Solid place to get takeout if your in a rush.
This place used to be in Superstore and when it was there they had rather good food. The spicy pork was easily the best I've ever had. However, now that they've moved to First ave it has gone down in so many ways. A couple friends and I ordered a combo of four with chow mein noodles, beef and broccoli, deep fried shrimp, and lemon chicken. Also a combo of two with more chow mein and spicy pork. An order of wonton soup and dumplings on the side.
SO, to start we waited over an hour before calling and asking where our meal was.. They said they had just left so we waited another 20 minutes until it finally arrived. The total they gave us when we called was 28 dollars. The lady who delivered gave us a different total of 30$. The delivery lady looked very sloppy and almost homeless. She didn't have any change on her or so she said, and seemed very offended when I didn't give her a tip. So that gave gave them a 2 for service.
The food... was horrible. I didn't have very high expectations because I had heard they went down in quality but this was insanely bad. The noodles were soggy, cold and just bland tasting. The lemon chicken was a grey colour and actually just tasted like lemon soap. The beef and broccoli was obviously sitting in a dish under a heat lamp for a long time. It was mushy and also soggy. The spicy pork, again...soggy and old tasting. However it was the least horrid of all the food. Wonton soup had all kinds of vegetables that I know shouldn't be in a wonton soup. Pea's and celery for example. What took the cake for horrible was the dumplings. I don't even know.... what we ate. It had hard clumps in it, way too chewy, soggy and old tasting...again. This was the first time I threw out more than I ate. This is all why the food got a 1.
So in conclusion I highly recommend to anyone thinking of trying this place, don't. Just don't do it. This was hands down one of the worst meals I've had. Bad enough that I took the time to create an account just to warn people of Yummy House.
Thought since cars are always there and movies happen to be filmed there,,, food may be a reason for such. WRONG..... ordering food was a big mistake.....Milkshakes and service are great and outstanding. When the food came it went downhill. Was expecting it to be different good.. but everything was made with a greasy spoon... burgers were tasted like they were bought from safeway and poutine was not "famous" in any way.... the crown jewel of the day was ordering mac and cheese for our kids and when it arrived... there were deep fried triangles stolen from M & M meats.... Don't know how Kraft dinner is hard to come up with. Prices were way to high considering the deep fried and greasy spoon nature of the culinary skillset...
Service was good to great.. not there fault the food is the opposite. Been there once.... and enough....
Easily the best Chinese food in Mission. I've been coming here for the past 20 years and it is always consistantly good. Service is always great and very friendly. Good value for the amount of food. My favourite and recommended dishes are the Lettuce Wrap and Salt and Pepper Prawns :) I even make the drive from Abbotsford just to go eat IN once a month.
Although I wouldn't say this is the best sushi ever it is good and very well priced. They make us feel welcome, and have learned all our names and our usual orders. It feels like visiting friends. We love that they great our children and are always happy to see them. I could go to other sushi places in mission and be treated like a number but why?? So I can pay more for sushi that is only a touch better and I am rushed in and out... NO Thanks!!
after visiting this establishment we left very dissappointed. the food came cold, even after returned it still wasn't hot! wait time was very long, and food was not below restaurant standards in our opinion, tasted horrible. i've never registered a review of any restaurant, hotel etc, but was so unhappy with our visit i had to share.
We are surrounded by moments in life that we cannot miss, and this is one you can. Rockwell's is another example of how inexperienced men who know nothing about the restaurant industry open franchises, and struggle each day to keep their customers.
First of all, the dining room was empty at 7pm on a Friday night. Swastika signs were engraved along the edges as you enter the establishment. I leave it up to you to decide whether that is professional or not. There were a few middle aged men at the bar drinking beer. Cant go wrong with 2.99 sleeves of bud. Well you can, my husband ordered one, and it was flat. The waitress informed us that the hoses are leaking pressure and all of their beverages are flat. Yet we decided to give it a complete honest good chance, and stayed for dinner. Why do we torture ourselves, are we masochists?
We sat at one of the high tops in the bar. The fireplace emitted a gust of wind every minute or so, making the entire bar area chilly. I ordered a Strawberry Colada, and it was terrible. The alcohol spilled out of the sides of the cup, and when i requested that they blend it, instead of pouring the liquor down to the bottom, the waitress told us the owner insists on this way of preparation to make sure there is no alcohol wastage, Yet the wastage was on my table. I asked her to remake it in a bigger cup, and stirred it with my straw.
Food wise, overpriced, $12 for 8 wings accompanied by 3 pieces of celery and carrots. I asked for the wings to come half hot, and half plain, the server said this was not possible. I asked for a side of mayonnaise, and was not impressed when i saw the $1 miscellaneous charge on my bill later. My husbands calamari was child size, but it did come on a pretty fancy new plate. We like rectangle plates, but we didn't come here to admire plates, we came here to eat...Seafood angel hair pasta come overcooked, but such is normal 90 % of the time in bars, it had 3 pieces of prawns, and 3 pieces of tiny scallops for $27. My husband was disappointed that they do not offer prime rib, and ordered a steak. The mushroom topping was $8, but he enjoyed his meal.
I would not recommend this place to anyone, I will never go there for dinner again unless i lose my sanity or get severe memory loss. I am embarrassed for Mission to have this disgrace in it's town. On the other hand, you might want to try Eleni's restaurant if you're craving a good meal, properly mixed drinks, and good service.
We always order Mission J's Pizza for our Abby Law Office. The food is always delivered piping hot, and is consistently good. We can't wait for them to start their donairs and Indian menu - I know we'll be ordering from there on a consistent basis - even more than we do now...
Ask for Bob - he'll set you up! Great rates for catering parties (we did our Christmas party with them last year).
Definitely worth a try!
