I travel quite a bit through big and small towns. It is more and more difficult to find a "character" establishment with good home style food and old fashioned service. I lucked out in Merritt today as I discovered a little cafe called Petit Cafe Diane. After having the egg "burger" which is actually full of Montreal Smoked meat, I question why anyone would ever eat plain old hamburger again! This is a fantastic meal option that I will return to every time I travel through Merritt - and will remember when I am stuck in a town with just plain burgers.

OMG! This is a little gem in the middle of nowhere. I have heard good things about this little pizza joint in Merrit, B.C. So i decided to check it out and i was not disappointed. I was with a large group we all ordered Calzones which is just a pizza folded in half. They are huge, and they are really good. Definitly have to go back there. If you are passing Merrit, you have to stop by this little place.
