service is very bad and slow , it took 20 min just to get soup then a furher 45 min for the main course ,which was by far worst greek food ever. the dinner plate smelled like it was left in the dishwasher for a couple of weeks (stale water smell) chicken was dry ,cold and tasteless, rice was cold . roast lamb was dry .
and on top of all that it was $54 for a greek combo platter, roast lamb dinner, bean soup ,and two soft drinks.
would never return in a million years
Maple Ridge is not known for it's restaurants - so I was so happy when LaTrattoria came to town. While I don't often bother writing a review, having just read some of the ones posted I felt the need to.
We go to this restaurant at least once a month and have for years. The ambiance is warm and cozy and the food has always been great. Our regular server "Mike" is always attentive and we enjoy his service as much as we do the food and ambiance.
I don't understand why some people have complained - perhaps they are just that type and don't have much good to say about anything or anyone. Or they went once and it was a bad night - which happens to everyone.
I urge you to try it for yourself - my favourite is the LaTrattoria Spaghetti and the sea food pasta dish. It is very hot and spicey so not for the faint of heart!
We hadn't ordered from this restaurant for some time as the last order was not good. We decided to try again tonight and we were delightfully surprised. The food was very fresh and tasty. This will be our main restaurant again, for this kind of food. Keep up the good work
We just had a most wonderful night out at the Lava Dining and Lounge with Chris and Robert and all their wonderful staff.
Their first ever Turducken Dinner served with all the trimmings family style. And that lead to a wonderful sharing of stories, new friendships, lots of laughter, trying new wines, jokes, and stories.
Oh did I saw the food was great?! And it was.
Thank you for daring to be different and try something new...looking forward to the Goose in November.
Give it a try folks you will be very happy!!!
We have been loyal and regular customers of Sushiro for some time now. We found the sushi to be really good but experienced some of the worst customer service we have experienced in restaurants. The resolution of customer service issues involving mistakes to orders (including our most recent take-out order where we got home and discovered that the sauces had been forgotten on half of our ordered rolls!) could have been simple. But rather than offer anything to rectify their mistake such as a discount on our next order or a free sushi roll, on each occasion the management argued amongst themselves in front of us, making us feel very uncomfortable, and then refused to do anything at all to make the situation right. Tonight was strike four, we will not be going to Sushiro again and would not recommend this restaurant until they address their approach to customer service.
Not great food. Took an 1.5 hours to get to my house (they told me 45 mins), and the person who took my order was totally rude, as if she were doing me a favour for taking my order. The second woman that answered the phone when I called to inquire about the lateness was even worse. Meh, I think I'll take my business somewhere else.
I've been going here for years! It's great.
Their staff are super friendly and service is always fast even when it's busy!!
Lots of parking. It's always across the street from Dairy Queen so that's a plus!!!
They have the best kanisake tempura yummmmm!!!!! The avocado is always fresh ( I hate when sushi places use bad avocado).
No a lot of places have vegetarian lasagna in town so we've been going back again and again for it. We usually order pizza with it. My husband loves their pizza. I prefer panago myself I find it too greasy but he LOVES it. SO to each their own.
When we pick up an order you have to park around back as the street parking is usually taken. The place inside is a dive and I don't like to eat in.
I've only been a couple of times but both times it's great!!! The staff are super helpful in helping me decide on what to have. I personally find the portions plenty big enough for lunch leftovers...however my husband always eats his all up. So totally depends on the person.
It's really nice inside I just don't LOVE the location. At night there's lots of parking right beside but in the day the dr.s office takes up most of the parking in the side so you have to park in the big parking lot and I'm always a little nervous walking across worried about traffic coming in off lougheed. (but that could just be me).
I look forward to going back I got a coupon from the paper so should be back soon!!
They are always fast here and the drinks are deliciousness!! The only thing they could work is on his their friendliness towards their customers.
Also it is expensive but worth it for a once in a while treat. If they had buy 10 get one free cards I'd probably go more often.
Parking is sometimes an issue in this mall too.
Every time we come here the staff are always so friendly and efficient!
We also frequent the drive-thru with our dog and he always knows we are at DQ because he gets a little milk bone! Great service!
The value is good depending one what you order, they have the 2 - $4 menu so we can get a dipped cone and sundae for a good deal. Depends what you are in the mood for.
This is my favorite Japanese restaurant around. I have found the food incredible (sushi and recently the teriyaki dishes), service is always friendly and prompt. Recent updates to the decor has enhanced the dine-in experience. They have an extensive menu of sushi. Prices are also very reasonable. Hours are good (I am a late night eater).
This has got to be the best patio outside of downtown Vancouver. We stopped in for drinks and dessert after eating dinner elsewhere, and will definitely go back for dinner. Although the dessert menu was limited, the chocolate brownie was excellent paired with a couple of yummy specialty martinies. The cucumber mojito was also amazing! The service was quite slow, even though the restaurant was not very busy. Our server was not overly friendly either, but the ambiance and the food/drinks more than make it worthwhile.
We tried Paliotti's for the first time this weekend and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and the portions were generous enough to have another meal leftover for the next day. The menu was extensive, with lots of vegetarian options (for me) and a variety of different meat and seafood options for everyone else. Our server was friendly and efficient, and knew the menu very well. The only letdown was the awful italian elevator music, and the lack of air conditioning. We'll definitely be back!
Love the food and ambiance. My only issue is the service, you just never know what your going to get depending on which of the servers you luck out with. This seems to be an on going issue not just in reviews but also from talking to friends who dine there as well.
Went there with some friends last night for a late dinner. The restaurant is right by the Fraser River, beside the old Albion ferry station. Great view of the river, very nice, except for when a train passes by right across the street from the place.
I ordered the salmon and crab burger and cranberry juice. It took a little while for it to come, and when it did, they brought my the salmon and crab cake because the kitchen read the order wrong. So they gave me a 25% off the burger on my bill for the inconvenience. Very prompt and willing to fix the issue and make their customer happy.
The burger was quite good. Nice and soft bun with a good-sized salmon and crab patty that was seasoned nicely. The fries were crunchy, just the right size (I think thick-cut fries), and they weren't too greasy.
Great place to visit if you're out in that area.
I came here for lunch one afternoon for a business meeting we started with the antipasto platter ro share between all of us it was nice that the adjusted it to fit all the people at the table. The food was of good quality nothing that wowed me but it was good eats. I had a clam linguini with a spicy tomato sauce noodles were over cooked but again it seems to be a trend in Maple Ridge to get noodles that are over cooked. The Restaurant it's self is old but has been maintained. Server was attentive and nice let us have our space. I haven't been back since the meeting so it didn't leave a great impression on me but as a whole it was a good meal and I wouldn't mind trying it again
This was my second time back after proposing there earlier this year and I decided to bring my mom and dad as well as my aunt and uncle to their schnitzel night. They had their regular menu but also several choices for schnitzel, all for $12.99. I had a three course entree starting with duck salad, then schnitzel holstein and blueberry bread pudding for dessert.
The duck salad was duck breast slices with a glazed orange sauce, with arugula, roma tomatoes and asparagus. Very tasty and a light starter considering the main course and the duck was excellent.
The schnitzel holstein was basically a very large portion of schnitzel with egg and capers on top. All the schnitzel dishes came on a bed of roasted potatoes and red cabbage (loved the cabbage!) as well as their specific toppings. The schnitzel portion was quite large and very tasty, the best I've tried. Everything worked quite well together.
I thought I was full after all that schnitzel - until the dessert menu came around. I chose the blueberry bread pudding which came with fresh blueberries on top of the bread pudding and ice cream. It was a very good alternative to a sweet/sugary dessert and finished off the meal perfectly.
All in all, the meals themselves were very good and considering the special on the schnitzel was reasonably priced. It would have been very hard for him to top my previous meal there (pulled out all the stops for that one, had duck confit also with duck breast which was one of the top 5 meals I've ever had) but did an excellent job.
The service was also very good, attentive without once interrupting us and informative on any questions we had about the menu. The atmosphere is very nice, upscale with varying light and dark browns as well as reds, and the decorations and seating were well done and comfortable. Depending on where you sit, the background noise can be just right or a little louder, although the music was always the perfect level.
I'd highly recommend Lava Dining and Lounge, either for one of their affordable special nights (schnitzel on Tuesdays and prime rib for $21.99 on Fridays) or to go off the regular menu for some high-end cuisine.
I have to say that this restaurant/Pub has the nicest view and nicest patio in all of Maple Ridge. Unfortunately that is all it has. I have been here only once and the experience was disappointing to say the least. I have heard many mixed comments of this place and now realize I should have stayed away. The food was so bland and so over cooked that the mussels i had, as a starter, had shriveled up and were chewy like lego wheels. The steak as a main was decent but the sides were a complete disaster I could have most likely laid bricks with the mashed potatoes. The beer list is nice but I still have a hard time finding New Castle Brown Ale which is my favorite beer. The person who was supposed to be waiting on us was not trained at all in the menu, beer list, or serving etiquette at all and was probably the worst part of the whole meal. All in all great patio lousy service nothing more then low end pub food and because of all that the value is not worth it I will not be back and I will not recommend this restaurant
What can I say about GM restaurant. I will never ever claim to be a connoisseur of curry or of Indian cooking all I know about GM restaurant is that the food is always good it is always hot and I have never not enjoyed my meal. I have never eaten in at Gm always to go and the Owners are always extremely friendly and the staff always helpful. They show me my order when I get there so I never get home missing something. there is always plenty of chicken and potatoes in my curry and the quality of the saag is always one of my favorites. I will always be a customer of this restaurant because it has never steered me wrong 20 dollars gets me enough to feed 2 and for that price point it is a hell of a lot better than McDonald's. Keep it up guys you are one of the best around!
