Went with a group of 12, 10 adults 2 children. The service was great (except there was a mix up with one meal, my son got his meal when most of us had already finished-the manager took the meal off the bill) The food was excellent. Free dessert for the birthday girl (and is was SOOOO good, a cake with strawberries, and chocolate sauce) Would definitely go back, and recommend to all my friends.

Mmmmmmm pulled pork sandwich
By beejac of Maple Ridge (1 Review)
Submitted Tuesday, June 28, 2011 - 8:34am [Dine in]

Went with friends this past saturday and we all got something different off of the menu. One friend had the chicken burgers with goat cheese, one had the beef burger with pulled pork - I think it's called 'the Billy', one had the 'Pullman', a delectable pulled pork sandwich, and one other had a beef burger with various condiments. All of us had the kennebeck fries and gravy for sides. Each of us declared our meals to be outstanding. There wasn't a whole lot a talkin going on while we devoured our meals. There's tonnes of craft beers on tap, and daily specials - which are actually good deals.

Service was a little slow, and we had to go up to the bar to pay for our meals, but I think there was only one waitress on and it was fairly busy, so no big deal.

Hubby and I went again this Monday for a quick bite after work - both of us had the Pullman and again, it was fantasticly delicious! And to top it off, Molson 67's (yeah I know - light weight beer) were only $3.50 a bottle.

Our new favourite pub in Maple Ridge!

Finally Decent Asian Food in MR!!!
By ElleMapleRidge of Maple Ridge BC (5 Reviews)

I went there for take-out and ordered the Asian Chow Mein and Spring Rolls. Both were quite good and cooked fresh (not soggy messes heated up from the night before like some of the other *shudder* chinese food joints in town). Wokbox is more in line with the new "fast casual" type of restaurants starting to pop up here in Canada and I can't encourage them more! The portion size could be larger as I would tend to agree with another reviewer that you don't get that important leftover lunch meal you do with the other dives in town. So if I have a complaint that would be it. It is rather pricey but remember it is better quality food you are getting too! (I am not the owner of the store by the way.) Hopefully, they make a good go of it here in MR and give the other restaurants a run for their money.

We were the only table in the restaurant for lunch and it was Terrible Service!

The exterior of the restaurant from the street has been neglected and appears unkept- it looks like a bit of a dive from the outside but the inside is quite nice and has a nice ambiance to it. The problem I have is that my father and I dined there for lunch (with my 2 year old daughter as well) and we were the ONLY table in the entire restaurant at 12pm, yet every time we needed something or even when we wanted to order, there was no one around and I had to get up and go find the one woman that was working (and I'm 9 months pregnant right now so chasing down the one and only staff member was not my idea of a nice dining experience). Food was very good but the service was the worst I have experienced in a long time.

Horrible food
By Mullo of Pitt Meadows (19 Reviews)
Submitted Sunday, May 29, 2011 - 6:35pm [Take-out]

I ordered $50 worth of butter chicken, saag, chicken pakoras and aloo tikka to take out for my husband's birthday. The food was horrible and after eating a bit of it, we all threw it in the garbage. It tasted like the food was pre made and sitting around for a long time prior to picking it up. The chicken pieces in the butter chicken and pakoras was very dry and old tasting. The aloo tikka was extremely salty and my husband spit it out. We order Indian food regularly and can make better food at home.

I called and let the restaurant know that the food was not good and she said sorry and that was it.....couldn't care less. What a disappointment for a birthday dinner and waste of $50.

The naan was good however if that is any consolation.

Avoid this place at all cost.

Was great the first time, not the second

I've been to this restaurant twice now. The first time was fantastic! Food was fresh, service was great. Then I went there only a few weeks later and had a completely different experience. The service was awful! Didnt get water served for over 20 minutes, and then our food came all at the same time, and the miso soup was cold. I'm not blamming the waitress, she was the only one! The food was not as fresh as the first time.
Wasnt very impressed, wish this place could have been consistent. I will probably go again, because their lunch box was a good deal. (Dinner box, a lot more expensive than other local Japanese restaurants though). But I'm hoping next time there will be more than one waitress, and the miso soup will be hot the next time.

Best Rolls in Town

If you want good, basic sushi in Maple Ridge then Hamada is the place to go. I always order a california roll and I am never disappointed. It is on the larger side compared to others, is not overloaded with rice, and is sprinkled with black sesame seeds. Their rolls are definitely a good value for the price. The dressing on their garden salad is amazing. I think it is a mixture of apple sauce and vinegar, something like that. Their bento boxes are a good deal during the lunch hour. The servers and chefs are friendly and welcoming, which makes for an intimate dinning experience. There are always lots of people getting take out, especially during the evening. Sometimes, the staff looks a little rushed, and will quickly take your oder and give you your food. The music could be better in order to appeal to a wider variety of customers.

Good & Simple Homecooked Food

I have been to this small restaurant many times since it has opened, which must have been around 2007. Their menu is quite large. I usually order a sandwich or a wrap. I would recommend the gyro wrap, which is similar to a donair, without all the grease, the turkey club wrap, and the chicken caesar wrap. Their caesar salads are very fresh and delicious. My dad really enjoys their split pea and ham soup, while I prefer the potato bacon, however the soups change from day to day so you can't always expect the same one. Their apple pie is also a nice treat.

The service is always great, and you can see the chef preparing the meals in the open kitchen. There are many windows to let the natural light fall in, however sometimes it makes the place feel a little cold. There are tables to sit at or a small bar next to the barista. It is on the corner of two fairly busy streets, but the noise never seems to be a distraction. You can even see the tips of golden ears from a few tables.

In all the food is simple and of good quality. I like to think of it as mastering the basics. The price is reasonable for most meals, although I do wish the wraps came with a side salad or a small soup for an extra sum. Therefore, the sandwiches are probably the best deal.

The kind folks at soprano's try,but cannot produce quality pizza pie. I can say this empirically , because of all the pizza i have eaten over north america. The dough has no texture, sauce is soury ,and toppings are mediocre. Not what I was looking for.Quality of meats must improve also, the souvlaki dinner was like eating shoe leather, all in all not very good eating,or value.

Always at jims the pizza isnt cooked enough. The crust when cooked properly, i.e ...EVA's is awesome . Dry cured pepperoni would be a major improvement over the cheap bologna style pepperoni,it ruins otherwise a great pie.The cheese blend needs less edam, too buttery and more mozza.Simple fix , but care and attention to quality must always be paid.

Finally Found Great Chinese Food In Maple Ridge!
By turtle75 of Pitt Meadows (2 Reviews)
Submitted Wednesday, March 9, 2011 - 12:28pm [Delivery]

Living in Pitt Meadows we have tried several Chinese Restaurants. All of the ones we tried in our area were quite disappointing. This place was fantastic! The food was excellent. It was delivered hot and the portions were large. The food tasted awesome and it was not too greasy like most Chinese food we have had. The egg rolls were huge and yummy (they do not contain meat, but are still great!). The sweet and sour pork was served nice and crispy with very little fat or bones and topped with a delicious sweet & sour sauce. The chicken chow mein and beef chop suey were both very good also. The vegetables tasted fresh and were not overcooked. They were done just right (a little crispy, but not too hard or soft). The pork fried rice was awesome. Very tasty, but not greasy. My favourite Chinese soup is hot & sour. My wife is not usually fond of this soup. However, after trying Kitchen On The Ridge's hot & sour soup, she is now a fan of it! It was so good, but for those who are sensitive to spicy food, I would not recommend this soup to you. Most Chinese restaurants serve hot & sour soup, but it is never spicy and taste wise is so-so. Kitchen On The Ridge makes a great hot & sour soup that is actually spicy and has gigantic shrimp or prawns in it. Awesome, highly recommended! Another great thing about this restaurant is that if you order over $30 worth of food, you get a free pork fried rice. They offer a free dish if you order over anywhere between $30-$90. Great value, and service too! Apparently they offer all day Canadian style breakfast too. We have not tried this yet, but after having such a great experience we probably will!

Whenever I feel like greek food I go to socrates. I've only been a few times but each time I always enjoyed my meal very much. The only thing that needs to change is the prices which are pretty high..for maple ridge atleast, and the decor..does every greek place have to have the ugly typical plants on the ceiling and ugly art all over the wall? Is Greece filled with plants on every ceiling? probably not...tell me how this trend started? honestly. Waitresses are usually always very nice an Ive enjoyed myself every time I go to eat.

We always eat here when we want Chinese. The Breaded Almond Chicken is my favourite and is always good. Lots to choose from. Prices reasonable. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was their egg rolls but this is just my personal preference.
Dine in or take out the food is great and the staff is very friendly. They make you feel like you are a long lost friend if you go back more than once.

This place is like my very own personal Cheers Pub. Everyone is open and friendly. Not only the staff, but most of the patrons as well. Everyone is a friend once you are inside. I always look forward to the many smiles, hellos, and warm hugs when I arrive. You can also look forward to great service from two outstanding bartenders who always remember your drink even if it's been a while. And last, but certainly not least, DANCING. Great tunes to dance to are played all night long by two fantastic DJ's. LOVE the Wolf Bar for sure!!

Stopped in with the fellas for some drinks and wings on wednesday night. It appeared the waitress could not be bothered with serving our table, in fact, she did not look up at any one of our faces the entire evening and we had to tap her on the shoulder when she was serving other tables nearby to get any service. Upon receiving a half filled pitcher at the end of the evening, we went to the bartender to complain. Same painful service at the bar, where the bartender took the time to argue that this was the convention of filling up pitchers and that we (licensed bartenders) were mistaken. Seriously, you could not top off our pitcher with 0.30 cents of keg beer? Needless to say, we will not be going back to this pub.

The owner, Mehdi, is a wonderful host, the ambiance with soft Jazz is relaxing. This restaurant is Maple Ridge's best kept secret! Prices are excellent. We have been to every restaurant in Maple Ridge and we keep coming back to the Green House for excellent food at excellent value! WELL DONE Mehdi and Staff!

Food - Pad Thai was not that spectacular at all and was WAY to salty. Rice was dry..?

Portions - I could have spent the same at one of the local Mom and Pop Chinese Restaurants and recieved about 30% food (leftovers for tommorow's lunch)

Price to Quality Ratio - LOW. For what we paid we didnt get Value for our money.

Sorry - We wont me coming back :(

We've been to WokBox a couple of times..My family and I have tried the Singapore cashew, Pad Thai, Penang shrimp and Chicken (a bit on the spicy side) and black bean... All very savory tasting and healthy, balance meals (great for children)... Very modern with 2 big screen T.V.s to watch your favorite sporting events, a nice change from the pub atmosphere. Helpful staff along with the owners came by our table numerous times to make sure we were enjoying our visit. Like any new restaurant, a few kinks to iron out...But, overall a great place to spend an evening with your family or a night out with the girls or guys!

I have come here for both a dine in experience and a take out experience. The time that we dined in we were thoroughly pleased. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting and the restaurant is super clean!! We got our food very quickly and all four of us eating together each enjoyed our seperate meals. The manager was sure to ask and make sure that we liked everything which we found to be a very nice touch. Having enjoyed it this first time, we then ordered a large take out order one evening for movie night. Rather than doing the same old chinese food we decided to try something much more healthy and nutritous. The food was so delicious, and the fact that we did not feel gross or greasy after eating it was a greatly added bonus. I particularly like the Thai and Mongolian dishes with chicken and udon noodles - super tasty! We will definitley be coming here in the future when we are looking for a good, quick, and healthy meal to have!
