It's been at least a decade since we last visited a White Spot. No particular reason, there are just so many other restaurants to try. But we were very hungry after a long sunny afternoon exploring the Pitt dykes and WS was the first non-Chinese/Sushi place we saw so we stopped in. They chose to seat us at a table surrounded by babies and kids for some reason but they were remarkably quiet so we could still chat comfortably. WS was having their burger extravaganza and we both decide to try their peanut butter/jalepeno/bacon burger which they promised was exotic and delicious. Came with the usual coleslaw and their Signature Delta-origin never-ending french fries which must make the local potatoe farmers proud because WS does do fries well. The burger was fine although the peanut butter didn't really appeal to either of us...tasted satay-like which was a bit odd for a burger. I remember WS always had great burger buns, almost brioche-like with a soft crumb and a tender crust that had a nice "bite" and it seems the buns have changed...not bad, just not what I remember. Overall the meal was fine, nothing special. Service was quietly competent and the tab was $36 with tip and a bottomless ice tea.
This is a favorite spot for my girlfriend and I when we want to grab something that's quick and delicious. The service is really good, and they are all very polite and courteous there. I decided to post this quick review of their place because I noticed some lower ratings, which I didn't feel described this place fairly at all. I have been here about 10 times so far or more, and out of all those times I can't think of anything negative to mention at all. If I could change one thing about the place it would be that it is a little bit expensive for what we order, but it all depends on what you get. All in all I would give it a 9/10 and would definitely recommend it. I usually order a bowl of edamame beans to split, and 1 california roll and 5 salmon nigiri rolls for myself.
Located on River Road in Maple Ridge, this bar & Grill looks over the Fraser and you have a choice of a window view or the Patio for those warm summer days. A very relaxing place to watch the river flowing by, tugs and barges, and fisherman trying for Sturgeon. The food is very tasty, they have a well stocked bar, and friendly staff. We have dined here several times and it is always a fun time.
I have driven past so many times and finally took my daughter there for lunch last month. The atmosphere was ok - it was lunch after all. Not sure I'd go back for a dinner. They had a gluten-free menu which is helpful, however, they just make note of the gluten free items from the original menu. There were no substitutions like GF bread or pasta to choose from. I had a Thai rice noodle dish that was pretty good. My daughter had a burger that she couldn't finish - actually neither of us could finish. The portions were good. Overall, it was a fine experience, but I've done it now and it's not really calling me back.....
We ordered from this place about 2 weeks ago. We ended up not even taking the food. We ordered at 6:45 was told it was going to be about an hour wait. We called them at 7:45 the lady advised us it was on its way... Called 30 mins later as it still had not arrived, she told us it should be there soon. Now its been 2 hours, so we called again, she still said it was on its way. So when the driver got to our house 2 hours and 20 mins later we just sent it back... Who want to eat food thats been in a car for over an hour???
We ordered over $50 of food for delivery and it took over an hour and a half to arrive at our door (less than 5km from their restaurant). I called when it passed the hour mark and they told me they left with my food over ten minutes before so it should be arriving at my door very soon. When it did arrive, forty five minutes later, I was frustrated and asked the delivery person what he could do about this length of time. The driver told to take it up with the owner- and that they were very busy that evening. When we sat down to eat- the four dishes we ordered were terrible, bland, tasteless, and over cooked. We couldn't eat any of the food except for the Wonton soup. Angry as I was with the situation, I opted to call the owner when I had a cooler head and they weren't so busy.
My phone call the next day was even more disappointing. They told me they were busy last night but they try to appeal to the average person who prefers bland food and this was why they put soy sauce in the bag. They told me that I should have added more soy sauce. They then told me that they cannot refund our meal because I didn't call last night- it was too late now.
I will NEVER order from Silver House Chinese Restaurant again.
I urge others to find a restaurant that appreciates your business, and doesn't INTENTIONALLY cook bland food.
Expected slower service because I went on $2 burger night but this was so much worse. Arrived at 6:35, the order was taken at 6:50. The waitress brought our drinks (pop)10 minutes later. At 8:00 I asked if our order would be much longer as it was getting cold and dark on the deck outside(no heaters) By 8:20 we still had not received our burgers or been offered any other drinks, probably because we were not drinking alcohol. I told the waitress this was not acceptable, she argued with me and offered no apologies. I asked for my bill for the pops and waited 10 more minutes, then left some cash on the table(more than deserved)and went to Wendy's for service with a smile. At The Ranch I waited 2 hours, was offered 1 drink and left hungry.....
Want to eat? Like, really really taste good food? Go to this place.
This is a nice neighbourhood feel restaurant but the food is pulled from a five-star dining room. My fiance's dad is obsessed with this place since going there and has returned about five times.
It's a bit of a drive, but honestly, I would drive here from Vancouver for the food.
Try anything off the menu. Seriously anything.
This was the second time I've been to Bella Vita. The first time was rather unextraordinary. The food feels quite expensive for what it is. I've been to similarly priced places and have gotten much better food, service, and atmosphere. My last visit, though, was enough to have me come in here and post a warning.
I was with a party of 12, a birthday party for a good friend. Service was slow (~4 hours from arriving to leaving, without trying to be slow). It took the server an hour to ask us what we would like to drink, and it just continued on. The food was again, nothing to call home about, and definitely not worth the price-tag. The meat was not cooked as desired. The thing that was really aggravating was a simple request at the end of the meal.. "separate cheques please". This was asked around 9:30pm (we first started arriving at 6:30pm). The server disappeared, and then over 30 minutes later, we were starting to wonder if the bill was free, as it wasn't showing up. We were the only guests seemingly in the restaurant. Many of us were really wanting to go home, so we basically ended up asking for the bill unsplit, and were going to deal with it ourselves. Took only a few minutes for it to show up. One of our party paid for the whole thing, and now we're dealing with the headache of collecting the money ourselves.
The birthday girl was quite upset of a nice dinner turning into such a bad experience. Shame on the Bella Vita for treating us this way.
I will not be returning.
Placed an order for pick-up, pretty basic - teriyaki chicken, miso soup, and a few sushi rolls. The staff was very rude when I came to pick it up, and it took 35 minutes for them to get the order ready. When I got everything, it was all cold, and the rice was soaked through with teriyaki sauce. It ended up being more than $30 for what would have been nothing more than a snack, if any of it had been edible.
This one goes into the "when hell freezes over category",
Sagres restaurant is a gem of a place to eat. Again, I can't stress this point enough locally owned shops are where it's at. Family run, this business thrives on delivering tasty portuguese food, with a comfortable setting. The carne allejana is out of this world. Pork, shellfish, potatoe yum. The sauce is just incredible. I have yet to try the house pallea, you must call in the order in advance. It is a house specialty. The servers are friendly and helpful with menu choices. Ever since I had a birthday dinner here, I've been thoroughly impressed. Don't hesitate to sample this establishments tasty fare.Being an astute diner, finding places like this that do things right is reason enough to try out different places to eat, cheers!
This is the worst McDonald's Restaurant that I have found. Frequently they do not have the items you ask for, the staff do not appear to care and the service is poor. It seems like the franchaise owners just want the money coming in. They are absentee operators. I can compame this outlet to Cranbrook and a Surrey locations where the staff are professional, the service excellent. These outlets are similar to a restaurant but are fast. Maple Ridge frequently does not have the products. Is there no one who works there that can see or plan ahead? The franchaise should be taken from the owners; it is a disgrace.
IF you live in the north part of Maple Ridge...(even though I could drive there in 7 or 8 minutes)...they will charge you an extra $3.50 to deliver!!!! Ridiculous but the other chinese food places are absolutely awful in Maple Ridge so one doesn't have much of a choice unfortunately. As soon as another place that is better comes along I will take my business elsewhere but for the time being I gotta suck it up.
excellent food! Markos is an excellent cook and owner, the service was fast, very clean restaurant and would definately go back. the service and surroundings are great! Lots of variety on the menu and the prices were so reasonable. there was a lot to choose from and lots of food for the price, very classy.

Congratulations on your new restaurant, Markos! Ive been in twice already, and found both the beef souflaki with rice and the mushroom schnitzel to be excellent. I know the business will do well because you have always been the best chef in town and your greek dishes are marvelous beyond compare.
I will definitely be in again!
We went to Foxes Reach for our weekly visit and often had mixed reviews, but we liked it because it had a restaurant on one side that allowed our boys. Recently we went there and my son thought he would try the shrimp fettuccini and when it came he said it was too saucy, we told him to just eat it and take the good parts of the pasta. After his next complain we examined it closer and found the pasta was a clump of dough and the there was olive oil/butter all over the bottom, something you find when you micro wave Fettuccini. When the waitress came by, we brought this pasta to her attention; she said she would talk to the manager. When she return she said because he ate the garlic bread and shrimp all he would give us was 20% off the dish, so it worked out to be $10.40 for 5 shrimp and garlic toast. I did not expect a free meal, but only 20%, you might as well have told me to F-off. Well loud obnoxious guy who walks around like he owned the place, turns out he does…. You have lost a frequent flyer to your restaurant over a bad dish and decision. Advice, keep your hands and eyes off the girls who work for you and put them on the Pub you are fortunate to own.
Our first time eating at this place. Will not go back. The meat from the hamburger was burnt and the meat was dried. When we told the waitress to change the burger, she didn't apologize. The Fish and chips was all batter and no fish. The waitress was not very polite and I felt I was being rushed to get out of there. She was taking the plates so quickly and kept on coming to ask every 5 mins if we were done with our meal. Very poor food quality and experience and the meal was EXPENSIVE for the quality of food.
This is a cute little restaurant in maple ridge. I ordered green thai chicken curry and pad thai. It was very good and would definitly go back for more. Will have to try some of the other menu items on my next visit. Better overall compared to the other Thai place.
I'm Surprised there aren't more reviews for this place. I found the food here mediocre at best. It's ok tasting, nothing to rave about. Pretty plain flavors, the fish can be too oily at times. The staff are quite friendly. The prices not so friendly to my pocket. Overall i wasn't really satisfied, i spent $32 on a meal that was just ok. Doesn't really make me want to go back. They used to have good fried chicken, i didn't notice it on there menu.
Don't get me wrong here, we enjoyed our meal very much but the restaurant needs a lesson in plating the food. We chose the platter for two and were brought pita bread and a bowl of balsamic and oil. No plates. Then came the greek salad for me and caesar for Mary, both delicious with excellent dressings.
Our server then brought us our platter and a couple of side plates? Odd! 5 minutes after we started to eat she brought real plates with rice and potatoes. After chuckling and scraping our side plates onto the dinner plates we continued an excellent meal of calamari, lamb, chicken souvlaki and dolmades.
Other than this, the decor is very nice, the service was good and the food excellent. Still no liquor license though, on which I blame our antiquated liquor laws.
We will be back and recommend this place to others. They have only been open for 3 weeks and are still working out some wrinkles.
