LOOKS LIKE A GOOD PLACE TO STAY AWAY FROM. IVE NOTICED THAT THEIR GREEN SALADS ARE USUALLY WILTED AND HALF ROTTEN TOO.
When entering the restaurant you are greeted by friendly hosts. There are a wide variety of choices to choose from. The cuisine here is tasty indeed, with fresh ingredients being the catalyst for flavours. Excellent homemade sauces propel meat/seafood dishes to new heights. Rice and noodle dishes are prepared with care, and soups are flavorful. This restaurant has what it takes to provide a nice chinese feast. Inside the decor is a nice relaxed setting to enjoy a meal.
I have to post a review even though the coffee is the same at all Starbucks, the service here shines through.
Dawn, Jamie, Lisa, and Val are always awesome making you feel personally welcomed each and ever visit!! Their personableness is second to none. I always feel good about my experience when I go in.
At Enjoy Palace the food has been slipping in the quality department. Currently they offer off smelling pork dishes and very unhygenic food service practices. Definately not worth the venture for low quality ingredients and unsanitary conditions. A shame that the owner has lost his standards. There was a time when foods here were fresh.
This is the worst McDonald's in the lower mainland. Every time, and I mean EVERY time I have driven through my meal is cold, old (I.e. has been sitting on a shelf under a heat lamp for an hour), and wrong. Tonight, my fries were cold to the touch as was my filet o fish. COLD to the touch and shriveled up. The shriveled up thing happens almost every time I order one. For this reason, I have taken the initiative and asked for a "fresh filet" to be made to avoid this, but even when I have ten cars ahead of me, I STILL get sent to the waiting lane where I wait another 5-10 minutes for them to bring out my meal and after sitting in the drive through lane for 15 minutes! This location needs a crew manager and some better training because these kids have no idea how to run a "fast" food restaurant. If eating crappy food wasn't a good enough reason for me to avoid McDonald's, I now have another reason to drive BY, at least THIS location.
Once you enter the pub , you are bombarded by a sports pub motif , every wall is festooned with flat screen tv's. In the food department consistency lacks , where there is a lack of quality control. With this in mind the food is in need of help, uninspired burgers laden in sauce on stale rolls; breaded calamari that seconds as rubber bands and pasta dishes that are a thick gloopy mess. The service rates from great to non existent. Alot of work is needed to make this location succeed.
delivery is ALWAYS AT LEAST AN HOUR TO TWO HOURS.
Got one credit and was told by owner Jesse that we are no longer
Customers and he will no longer serve us. Good customer service
Right lmao. No loss the food is crap anyway. They don't know how
To treat their customers at all. THEY WONT BE AROUND FOR LONG
WITH THIS ATTITUDE!!!!!
We have been coming to Bella Vita for well over 15 years as our go to place for great food and service. Unfortunately that all came to a stop after after our last visit. My wife, daughter and I were meeting my parents (who also have been loyal customers for over 20 years) for a nice dinner out. What we experienced was far below what we are normal accustomed to. The service although adequate was nothing like we had experienced in the past and the food was at best sub par. Of the meals ordered (2 filets, 1 salmon, 1 prime rib, and 1 new york steak with neptune topping) none were cooked as ordered or well. The worst was the new york steak which was order medium rare and came out well done. We actually sent this item back and the second attempt was no better then the first. In addition to not being cooked right the steak was less then 1/2" thick and about 40% fat, not exactly what you'd except. My wife who ordered the salmon (which was way over done) was told that dinners included potatoes and rice. There were no potatoes on any of our plates. When we go out I have no problem sending money to get a quality meal, I do however have a problem when all you get is a meal and service that could of been found at a family restaurant for half the price.
This spot could only be termed a point of destination, as no one would knowingly go there on purpose if they didn't know what awaited them upon arrival. The Black Sheep is probably one of the best pubs in the lower mainland, nestled in the shade of the mountains just about as far as you can go on the road to Golden Ears Park. I've been going here for nearly 35 years. This is the reincarnation of the original pub, having moved from across the street where it was a quaint spot, almost always full & difficult to get in. Today it is a almost a sports bar with a liquor store attached. But one thing has not changed and that is the wings. Monday nights is their .29 special with beverage purchase. No take out. Last night after golfing (a good round!) a buddy and I ordered 15 each, shared a side of fries with gravy & an ice cold Guiness each. It just doesn't get much better. So if you are looking for a good meal, reasonably priced & don't mind a drive, try out The Black Sheep in Maple Ridge.
We have frequented Hamada a ton over the past several years. However, since the recent expansion we have been disappointed. The food is still fantastic and the staff is very nice. The take out service has been completely unacceptable though. We always phone ahead and are given a time for pick up-but the last 5 times we have had to wait an extra 20 minutes at the restaurant. Tonight we waited over 40 extra minutes! We kept giving them more chances because we liked them but that is ridiculous! Only after voicing a complaint, we were offered a $10 coupon which, albeit nice, was not enough for chance #6! There are so many other Japanese restaurants in town, in order to compete they will need to make some changes.
Four of us went for dinner on the weekend. Nice atmosphere and very nice patio. Nice friendly greeter and seated us promptly. Another thing you'll notice is this place is very clean and tidy which is a bonus.
Ordered the mussels and calamari. Mussels were very good. Calamari was tasteless and rubbery.
For entrees, tasted the following:
Seafood linguine - Very good. Seasoning is right on, seafood nicely cooked, pasta cooked perfectly. Definitely get this again.
House salad - Very good dressing. Some wilted spinach in there and for a house salad, not many variety of veggies.
Pesto chicken quesadilla - Very good. Definitely worth getting again. Everything just work together in this dish.
Halibut - Bad, bad, bad. Save your money on this one. Overcooked (texture of a piece of chicken) and fish tasted like freezer burnt. Oh and needed more seasoning.
If you want a "home" style tasting breakfast, then the Home restaurant is the place for you. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast this sunday morning, with pancakes, bacon & eggs, and French toast. Also they have the best tasting apple pie just like mom used to make. There is lots of staff to provide great service.
My husband and kids come here often and we love it here. The staff is so nice and the food is quick and prepared exactly as we like it. We love how they sing to the birthday celebrants, they make it fun to come to their restaurant. This place is a must when you come to the west coast.
This shop is just down the street from work. I go with some frequency.
They have a good AYCE deal on all the time and they offer up their fish in regular, cajun and lemon. All of them are good. I will switch on the refill and they really don't mind giving you a mixed order.
I think the owners changed a couple of years ago and the quality improved. Owners are the staff and are always friendly.
Food is not greasy, fries are nice and crisp. Tartar sauce is good.
Cheap and decent so don't expect it to be fancy.
This restaurant need a serious revamp. They say you can tell a lot about a restaurant by its washroom. If this is the case I was afraid. What kind of owner let's their livelihood deteriorate so much and think it is ok to charge those prices? Seriously, the sink in the bathroom was falling off the wall and the 1980's wallpaper was missing in patches The 'manager' was super rude and showed no professionalism. We had a long, long wait and had children with us. A smile and a sorry go a long way, but we got that it was our fault for being a large group and a huge attitude. Food was 'meh' and not worth the price even with a coupon. The 'veggies' looked like they were cooked from frozen and my steak was fatty and tasteless. I have been a business owner myself and want to support local and family run businesses. I will never go back and that is a shame.
We had a lovely evening at La Trattoria. The restaurant has a very nice welcoming ambiance with music playing softly in the background. There is a fireplace in the room and it just had a very comfortable vibe. The tables are far enough apart so that you can enjoy a nice conversation with your companion and not feel like other tables will be listening to you.
Service was decent. It was not exceptional but it was a busy evening. Our wine was not topped up and we had to pour our own after the initial presentation. Wine prices are very reasonable. We ordered a bottle of Chilean pinot grigio that was $26.00 and it was a decent bottle of wine, presented properly chilled and with an ice bucket.
For dinner we shared an order of mussels as an appetizer. The sauce was delicious but the mussels had a very strong unpleasant taste. We called our waitress over and she said that they had just switched suppliers. She took the mussels off our bill. For entrees my husband had the Cornish game hen. It was very nicely seasoned and he said that it was very good. He said that if he had not had an absolutely amazing game hen last week he would have said it was excellent. However the game hen was also about $10.00 less than he paid last week. I had the lamb chops. They were very tasty and nicely cooked. I substituted capellini pomodoro for the vegetables and it was outstanding. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was made with really fresh tomatoes and basil. It complimented the lamb chops nicely. My husband substituted penne arrabiata for his vegetables and it also was very good. La Trattoria allows you to substitute just a regular pasta with red, white or rose sauce for the vegetables or you can substitute any pasta on their menu for an additional $3.00. It is a reasonable charge. For dessert we shared a mango berry cheesecake. It was very light and very flavourful. It was a decent size serving.
Others have mentioned that they think the pricing is high. Have you checked out the price of some of the meat at the store? I felt the food was very reasonable considering the quality and quantity. I also appreciated the fact that when we mentioned the problem with the mussels it was handled very well and without any attitude.
We would definitely return
Whenever you're in the Haney Place Mall check out the bakery at the eastern end of the store, some of their prices need to be chopped down a little but overall not a bad little place with good bakery foods. I particularl enjoy the cookies and muffins but the cakes have not been tried yet.
If you've got the munchies for pizza then little caesar's cannot be beaten for cheap prices and good crazy bread to complement your movie night at home or just a quickie dinner instead of slaving over the stove. We like the cheese stuffed crust pizza and the staff are friendly.
When I was a kids there were BR franchises everywhere. They are slowly disappearing . It's not because canada is overpriced - we have a very good supply management system that helps support our farmers . The fact is no one really wants their fake flavours and old fashioned sundae type dishes. I find them too heavy with the hard ice cream dq is much lighter as it's ice milk. I think they've just lost their lustre. And they were founded in California not Ontario.
Like Dairy Queen; Baskin and Robbins has been around for decades and specializes in dairy ice cream treats that rise to any occasion but like the cost of living in overpriced Canada, their food items have soared in prices and value. The franchise's history stems from Ontario, Canada and the provide good quality foods at a cost, but not cheap....
