Been driving past this place for a long time and didn't want to give it the time of day, probably still haunting memories of a bad Dino's experience I suppose. For some reason the stars and the moon aligned tonight and the four of us decided to give it a try. When we arrived we were the only ones there but that changed quickly as more and more arrived on this week night.
Top notch value.
Chef Marko can cook, the lamb was seasoned to perfection, the peppercorn steak was delicious with just the right amount of heat. The kids pizza was a very nice gourmet style combination that appealed and they even made up an off the menu Pita wrap for our youngest with souvlaki.
The one server on duty kept up like a pro, no complaints about that either.
If I have to give a negative to appear objective I'd say the Lemon chicken soup is a pass, didn't appeal to any of us but there was another option, we just didn't choose it.
2 kids, 2 adults dinner and a bottle of $28 wine totaled $105 before tip.
Give Marko's a try, I think you will like it despite the "exterior appearances" and "Dino's past".
We love this place!!!! Have order different things a few times and have yet to find a complaint. They are always super friendly on the phone and the pizza is always hot and delicious. It has that "home made" taste to it which is unique. By far the best pizza in town, tzatziki and pita, souvlaki, pasta etc.
Well done Markos!
Maple Ridge is lucky to have a great newer Greek restaurant that isn't a franchise - we enjoyed ourselves and our dining experience.
The waitress was polite and efficient, the diningroom was clean and modern.
Our starter was the home made dolmathes with a lemon sauce - so good. The main course of roast lamb was fall off the bone tender....
We'll be going back to Markos
excellent food! Markos is an excellent cook and owner, the service was fast, very clean restaurant and would definately go back. the service and surroundings are great! Lots of variety on the menu and the prices were so reasonable. there was a lot to choose from and lots of food for the price, very classy.

Don't get me wrong here, we enjoyed our meal very much but the restaurant needs a lesson in plating the food. We chose the platter for two and were brought pita bread and a bowl of balsamic and oil. No plates. Then came the greek salad for me and caesar for Mary, both delicious with excellent dressings.
Our server then brought us our platter and a couple of side plates? Odd! 5 minutes after we started to eat she brought real plates with rice and potatoes. After chuckling and scraping our side plates onto the dinner plates we continued an excellent meal of calamari, lamb, chicken souvlaki and dolmades.
Other than this, the decor is very nice, the service was good and the food excellent. Still no liquor license though, on which I blame our antiquated liquor laws.
We will be back and recommend this place to others. They have only been open for 3 weeks and are still working out some wrinkles.
Have gone here a few times hoping the food would be better 'next time' but not so lucky. The food is bland and tasteless & the barbecue sauce is just plain awful. Dark and bitter, Not good at all. The schnitzel was dry and flavorless!
I would say this is quite possibly the worst Greek food in Maple Ridge. With a such a limited menu selection, there are far more pleasurable dining experiences to be had within a few blocks of this place. Go elsewhere! Bar has very limited choices of liquors and the bartender didn't have a clue what she was doing.
Ambiance?? Service is average at best . Don't waste your time or $$ Sorry, will not be back.
Congratulations on your new restaurant, Markos! Ive been in twice already, and found both the beef souflaki with rice and the mushroom schnitzel to be excellent. I know the business will do well because you have always been the best chef in town and your greek dishes are marvelous beyond compare.
I will definitely be in again!
I recently tried Markos for the first time. It's only been open for literally a few days, so I wasn't sure what I could realistically expect. Restaurants often take some time to work the bugs out, and really get things right, but this is not the case here.
I was slightly disappointed that I couldn't have a glass of wine with my lunch, since the license hadn't cleared yet, but that's hardly a big deal, and completely understandable. I ordered beef souvlaki which was up in about 10 mins, and much better than I'd expected. I asked for medium rare since beef souvlaki is generally overcooked in my opinion, and it was done exactly as it should be. The quality of the beef was very good, chewy but tender, well marinated with a very nice prominence of greek herbs, and an excellent charbroil flavour, without any phenolic, burnt fat taste that sometimes occurs in flame cooked meat dishes. The roast potato was also top notch, with a strong lemon juice, broth and herb profile that you expect but don't always get at greek restaurants. The rice was also very good but not quite as excellent as the beef and potato, and the salad was exactly on point.
At $10.95 the value on the lunch menu is excellent for that quantity and quality of skillfully made food. When I ordered, I asked the waitress how much it would cost to add a skewer of chicken, which turned out to be $10. A little steep to say the least, so I didn't. I can hardly complain about that though, there was enough food to satisfy two normal human beings. ; )
Definitely try this place. The cook is an old pro, and the service is friendly and competent.
I have been waiting for this place to open and tonight I tried the pizza. Delicious! Traditional crust, loaded with toppings and the right amount of cheese. The owners came out and chatted a bit, friendly, welcoming, asking my opinion on the pizza. I will be going back soon to try the souvlaki!
