My husband and I have had some bad luck with Chinese food in the last few months. So bad in fact that we've just stopped ordering it all together. But, tonight I had a craving and my husband reluctantly gave into it but only if I agreed to try somewhere that we hadn't tried before. Enter Maple Rich Restaurant. When our food arrived my husband immediatly dug in and announced that we had finally found ourselves a good Chinese restaurant. All of the dishes that we ordered were tasty (particularly the ginger beef) and after gorging ourselves we we still have lots left for a full dinner tonight all for under $40.
This place is good for basic chinese food. It's reasonably priced, and the food is good. The servings arent huge, but that's expected when you pay what most places do. Their lunch special is great, $4.25 for 3 items? Great deal, and great food! You get a giant plate of nice warm chinese food. The ambiance is ...well it could be better but I would still recommend it.
When doing business as Ehan, this restaurant was on my speed dial for really good affordable chinese food. Fast, no nonsense service, huge portions.
Since October 2006, this restaurant has been under new ownership doing business as Maple Rich Restaurant.
Having sampled the new product, it's not as good as when it was Ehan. Although it's the only place in Maple Ridge where you can get fresh Chinese BBQ pork by the pound. Although still decent chinese take out food with average portions, the dining room has something to be desired. Missing the original asian paintings that adorned the walls previously, hand made posters adorn the walls now with photographs of their culinary offerings with handwritten descriptions and prices. The tables and chairs fall into the non-descript bowling alley faux wood laminate covering and vinyl style. The floor should have been replaced years ago. But everything is clean and tidy.
