I love donairs. This place in Maple ridge is not bad but i find it is inconsistent. I first started with donair affair in PoCo.Awsome donars! I was delighted to see we have one in Maple Ridge. I find the MR location is not as good at the PoCo location. I ordered three donairs, one hawaiian chicken, carribean lamb and carribean mixed chicken and beef. i guess the difference must be the portions of ingredients that go into the donair. There was too much onion and not enough tabouleh and not enough sauce. It's not like it was a bad tasting donair, it was still good. But i notice the PoCo location it's always good. Maybe they should get together and compare notes.
A good donair, nice friendly staff. I will try again soon.
If I could, I would eat here for lunch or dinner EVERY DOGDAMN DAY. It's THAT good. It is everything you could ever want in a donair place PLUS IT IS CLEAN. I have it on good authority that the health inspectors even dig this place. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT, PEOPLE!
The owners are ridiculously friendly. And they remember people and what they like to order, right down to the sauces. The in-house made hot sauce is not hot so much as it is so flavorful and tasty. They also make their own tzaziki, which is fantastic. I usually get a green salad with all the veggies possible, topped with chicken or lamb or both and use the sauces for dressing. They do a caeser and greek salad as well. When I am feeling extra carb-loady, I will indulge in the donair platter, which comes with the most fragrant rice, heaven-scented with butter and what seems to be tumeric or saffron. Like, I could eat buckets of it.
And cheap. I don't think I have ever spent more than $10. When I left my job in MR for one in the core of Vancouver, little did I know that I would not be able to find anything that is as close to this place for my lunches. I am now relegated to brown bags and daydreams...
The best humous ever!! I love their chicken rice platter with double humous and no greek salad. Glad they added the sriracha chli sauce instead of the bland tomato "hot sauce" the always have.
The service at any of theses places has never been that great, but the new younger late teens girl that now works there some times of very pleasant and nice.
If I had a choice, I would certainly go to the Poco location as the same order is cheaper and a bit better.
