China Kitchen offers an affordable all you can eat buffet for lunch and dinner, offering all the traditional Chinese favorites. China Kitchen also delivers.
Been here quite a few times over the past year, just when I want a fill-up of cheap knock off chinese food, as I sometimes do.
Food is never anything great, but you get what you pay for. It's good enough for what it is.
Service is always fine, just clear my plates, pour me some water and throw me the odd smile and I'm good to go.
Value, well, $9 for 20-25 items is fine by me. Usually hot, usually re-fill the items, even when you arrive, as I sometimes do, 20 minutes before they close.
Ambience, hey it's clean enough and they have free papers for me to read so I'm happy.
This restaurant has decent food, with a great price. The service is okay, it's a nice big restaurant which is nice, because you're not crammed together with other diners. I would recommend it for some fast, cheap food. Nothing fabulous, but it is what you would expect from a chinese restaurant.
I've eaten at many Chinese restaurants all over Canada over the years. This one didn't measure up to my exceptions. The salad bar isn't hardly a "salad" bar. It's just a one bowl consisting of lettuce plus 3 types of dressing on the side and they did have a few things to add to your salad but not your "everyday fare". They had baby corn, beets, etc. No tomatoes or cukes, etc. They did have sushi but it came on a plate and they didn't refresh it after about 20 sushi were taken from the plate. About 45 mins; my son checked; being a sushi eater. There wasn't any more sushi taking the empty plate's place. As for the buffet bar; the choices were limited to me and not much variety. My husband and I both agreed even though the service was excellent. It wasn't worth the money to eat there again. Won't eat there again.
I eat at the China Kitchen quite often and have always been satisfied with the overall buffet selection and service. One of the main reasons I enjoy this chinese buffet over others is that while the offer the traditional dishes they also offer some that are not so traditional. Calamari, Chicken in Curry Sauce, Singapore rice Noodle to name just a few that spring to mind. They also have probably the best wonton soup I have ever eaten anywhere. There is a salad bar as well, agian somewhat non-traditional for chinese buffet as well as a small selection of Sushi. I highly recommned this restuarant for both their lunch and dinner menu. You can also order alacarte as well here if you wish.
Ask my son where he wants to go for dinner, and before the question is out of your mouth, he is saying China Kitchen. It's a great buffet, and totally worth the money. The food is fresh and replenished often. The wonton soup is delicious, and the vegetables are perfect. The mussels in black bean sauce are beautiful. Finishing off with a bit of ice cream cleanses the palate and leaves a lovely flavour to the evening.
The best home cooked breakfast in Maple Ridge. Their skillet and eggs benny are better then Panty or ABC meals anyday. If your looking for decor you may want to go elsewhere but if your looking for great food this is the place to eat.
