Cool interior and the food is dependly okay but certainly not outstanding. If you like cute waitresses there is usually one working. The Corned beef hash is horrible, they use cut up fries instead of hash browns. Burgers and Sandwiches are ok. They have loads of milkshake flavors. Seemed like quite a few drug dealers where hanging out there. They used to be opne 24 hours and then changed it so maybe that cleaned it up a little. Don't get me wrong not all the patrons were of that element, loads of old timers hang out to. I am not sure if I would recommend this restaurant to anyone but if you wanted to hang out with friends over coffee and get a cheap burger it might be worth trying.
We had a great lunch here, the decor is, well 50's as expected.
The food was excellent.
Great service from a very friendly and personable server.
We didn't see any "undesirables" just a variety of people enjoying a meal.
Call me nostalgic but if I was alive in the 50's I would love this place. It's a diner so expect burger's and soda's with a wrap around counter to saddle up for a good cuppa joe.
I've been here 4 times over the last 1 1/2 years and the last time we took my sister, brother-in-law and 3 kids (ranging in age from 6-16 years) and we all had a great time. Kids get a free icecream!
Great prices and a fun place. You'd want to go here before going rollerskating or bowling.
My husband and I decided to drop in for lunch. Had a burger and a beer. The food was great, huge helpings. The service was fast and friendly. Great little dinner!

great for breakfast - only meal we have ever had there. very basic - but basic done very well. kids love it; prices are very reasonable; service is quick and pleasant. central to maple ridge; if the residents of maple ridge don't support restaurants like this then we don't deserve to have them in our city.
This has been a well know location in Maple Ridge for yrs ... many owners and many names ..
We decided to try it out as "Bobby Sox" after our kids came home telling us all about the "cool milkshakes"
Well the short and sweet of it is simple ..Service was decent, I ordered their best burger .. and immediately decided I either had something wrong with my taste buds or this was one of the worst, driest, most bland burgers I have had in yrs .. My daughter ordered fried chicken .. this was easily double if not triple fried .. the batter/breading was ROCK HARD and un-edible, My wife had the beef dip which again was dry, bland, almost cold and the bread it was served on was rock hard,
We'll not go back
I have eaten here many times. The main reason I come back is the burgers. Best burgers you can buy for the price. I have tried many burgers from 7-11 microwave burgers to 20 dolar gourmet burgers and these rate among the best I have had. Service is usually prompt and friendly, if a little bit rushed. I am not crazy about the decor, but I can see the appeal to a very young or overly nostalgic crowd. (try the Louisiana style burger, double)
A 50's diner, through and through - right down to genuine, old-fashioned sodas.
The menu is exactly what you'd expect from a 50's diner, right down to sandwiches that most restaurants have never heard of, but used to be all the rage, decades ago. The food is always hot and well prepared, and allows you to quite literally taste a by-gone age.
The decor really makes the experience - it looks exactly as you would expect, postered with old Coke ads, portraits of James Dean and the like, old movies, and even proper red-vinyl booths.
I'm young myself, but taking my Dad here quite literally made him recall all sorts of memories from his youth that he had long forgotten, and the food made him smile; to me, that proves that this is a special place for those who want something different than your regular burger-barn.
We went into Bobby Sox for breakfast, we heard really great things about this restaurant.
Ordered breakfast the hash browns were cold and undercooked, I asked they be taken back and cooked a bit more...we happened to be sitting so we could see into the kitchen. When the waitress took the hasbrowns back and explained we wanted them cooked longer the cook went into a screaming fit, calling me names and asking what the eff does this **tch want. Needless to say, I got up and left and have never ever been back. The waitress was totally apologetic and even offered us a free breakfast the next weekend. I didn't pay a dime for my food (which we didn't eat a bite of) but tipped that waitress heavily since she has to put up with "the mouth" in the kitchen....
First off the decor is crap and it looks like it needs a cleaning, the truck drivers and creepy people that are there all the time aren't the best to sit around with but the service is usually pretty decent. I continue to go because of there to die for poutine! It is the best poutine you'lle ever have. If youre ever hungry late at night with a friend it is just the perfect thing to do..i suggest you go i dont know about any of the other kinds of food but you ever are in a pickle i suggest the delicious poutine!
I've been to Bobby Sox several times and although the food isn't fancy it's wholsome and lots of it. If you leave hungry it's your own fault. the milkshakes are the old fashioned kind made with real icecream and awesome thick.
I would say this is the best burger in town and the fries were great.
The breafast is just okay....if you like deep fried potatoes for your "homefries". I don't. So I don't go there for breakfast.
The service is fast and friendly.
