Austin Fish & Chips serves fish & chips and a variety of other seafood food items.
We occasionally eat here for lunch, and the decor is a bit, um, simple, but the fish is what it's all about, after all, right?
We always get cod and chips, always fresh and crisp with a nicely cooked thinnish batter, and homemade chips. Takeout fish stays crisp (if you're a fast driver, call ahead!) for quite a while. The fish is firm and pretty much perfect.
Coleslaw is average, fresh; but it needs more dressing. Tartar sauce is okay, but it contains dill, which I'm not wild about.
So all in all, I recommend Austins for consistently good fish and chips, in-house, or takeout.
