LOVE this place!!!

We love this place!!!! Have order different things a few times and have yet to find a complaint. They are always super friendly on the phone and the pizza is always hot and delicious. It has that "home made" taste to it which is unique. By far the best pizza in town, tzatziki and pita, souvlaki, pasta etc.

Well done Markos!

This was my third and final time ordering from Electra since the reopening. After waiting 1 hour for a pizza and chicken dinner. The pizza was cold and the grease was dripping onto my plate after reheating. The chicken soulvaki was over down, hard as a rock. Don't order from this place.

Disappointed Again ....

This is the 3rd time I have ordered from Electra since the reopening. Unfortunately all 3 times the delivery took almost 2 hours and I wasn't offered any form of compensation. The pizza was cold (obviously), and extremely greasy .... even re-heating it in my own oven and blotting it with several paper towels did nothing to improve the taste/texture. There is no "flavour" just a mixture of grease and too much salt. I should have known better than to order from there again ... waste of $23, will need to throw it out ... will be making my own or going to the Billy Miner from here on in.

I don't write allot of reviews but the Lava Lounge is exceptional, The onion soup is the best we have ever had,
the service was great. We went there for dinner and had to go back for the lunch too.
The server recommended the Kettle valley red wine and it a perfect choice.
For lunch we had the steel head fish and chips and it was the best I have ever had.
For dessert try the deep fried ice cream.
Oh and the butler blue cheese steak was perfect too.
MUST TRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay away from the seafood platter
By VJB of abbotsford (139 Reviews)
Submitted Sunday, March 3, 2013 - 3:48pm [Dine in]

After reading all the good reviews for Sagres my husband and I decided to give it a try.

We made reservations. There were 2 large parties the evening that we were there and we were seated between the 2 large tables. It was okay. We were given the option of another table but we didn't care for the location of the other table. The ambiance is like that of a typical coffee shop. We have not had good Portuguese food since Adega in Vancouver closed so we were really looking forward to dinner at Sagres. The poor waitress was run off her feet. She appeared to be the only server and the restaurant was very busy when we were there. I think that it is a husband and wife team that are in the kitchen. When things slowed down at the end of the evening they came out and talked to some of the customers that I thought were regulars.

We shared a litre of Sangria that was very good. For an appetizer we shared the Portuguese sausage. This was a large sausage that was bought to the table still sizzling from the flames that enveloped it. Hot Portuguese buns were brought to the table and they were delicious. More places should take the trouble to heat their bread. It makes all the difference. Salad was also served with the meal. For entrees my husband had the chicken with piri piri sauce. It was delicious. The chicken itself was nice and moist but the skin was crisp and spicy from the piri piri sauce. A marvelous dish. I had decided to try the seafood platter. It was a hugh platter and it had clams, mussels, fish fillet and prawns. This was a poor choice. The clams had a very strong fishy taste and it was just overwelming. I'm used to having a sauce or something served with mussels but the mussels here were just served in the shell and a few of them were overcooked to the point of being chewy. The fish and prawns were okay but they were certainly not in the same league as the chicken that my husband was munching away on. The entrees came with cubes of potatoes that were crispy and yet nice and soft on the inside, rice and vegetables. As others have mentioned the portions here are huge. It is not the kitchen or the waitresses fault but they were so busy that we ended up spending more than 2 hours over dinner. This is fine if you're out at a fine dining restaurant but it is a very long time to spend at your regular basic restaurant.

I would try this restaurant again as my husbands chicken was really amazing, the Portuguese rolls were good and the sausage was also good. I would just be sure not to order the seafood platter, clams or mussels. I would probably just avoid the fish or seafood dishes here as they seem to have a problem cooking these dishes on a busy evening.

Favorite Family Sushi

Moved to Maple Ridge in April 2012 and our main goal was finding our Go To Sushi for our family with little ones under 5 yrs old. Sushi Gozen is hands down our favorite in Maple Ridge. We're always greeted with smiles by all the staff and able to select our own seating with booths or chairs depending on the size of our group. Our order is taken right away and we've yet to be disappointed by the service and quality of the food.
Our favorite is Red Dragon Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll-consistently fresh and delicious. Prices are family friendly, allowing us to dine here frequently :)

Maple Ridge is lucky to have a great newer Greek restaurant that isn't a franchise - we enjoyed ourselves and our dining experience.
The waitress was polite and efficient, the diningroom was clean and modern.
Our starter was the home made dolmathes with a lemon sauce - so good. The main course of roast lamb was fall off the bone tender....
We'll be going back to Markos

DELICIOUS breakfast, greasy, ultimate diner indulgence

This may just be the hokiest breakfast place you'll ever eat!

Food was great, greasy, big plates, exactly what rustic diner food should be. Eggs benny was delish, hollandaise made from scratch, done right. The hashbrowns are potatoes from the night before that have been re-fried and given some texture. Again this isn't fine dining, but rather the best diner food you're going to find.

The head woman running the place has been there for a million years, like a mother hen keeping everyone moving and everything going. Amazingly friendly, happy, super customer service oriented, trying extremely hard to make us feel comfortable and welcome (even though we were over dressed, didn't look like we belonged at all and had a screaming toddler).

This is very literally a 15 table restaurant, unsophisticated, next door to a mill, 2 doors down from a correctional institute, and kinda in the middle of nowhere. I had my doubts driving the long winding road into the forest, and even locked the Audi doors just in case there was a prison break effort on our clock ... but was pleasantly surprised once we arrived.

Can't say as though the place makes any sense, but breakfast was great!

My husband and I are food snobs, a tough pair to please. We moved from Yaletown to Maple Ridge, and Halu Sushi is our go-to place for fresh, delicious, clean sushi. They are always busy, you never get the feeling anything has sat or was a left over. Most sushi places don't have enough customers, ergo the food doesn't get turned over enough. Not the case here.

Good food. Consistently delicious.

Too Much MSG
By clovenhoof of North Vancouver (7 Reviews)
Submitted Saturday, February 9, 2013 - 10:13am [Take-out]

I had the Szechuan chicken (nothing Szechuan about it) and ginger beef; both were passable. My wife had the bbq pork chow mein. She was sick for a week, which we think was a reaction to excess MSG. The first day after the meal was very scary, as she was six months pregnant at the time, and the cramps and vomiting had us fearing the worst. But it became clear pretty quickly that it wasn't anything serious, and wasn't food poisoning in the traditional sense.

If you like food fair-quality Chinese food, then you'll be okay here. Otherwise....

Was a little skeptical at first with it being under new management but been back twice and both times now the dining experiences have been fantastic!

They still have yummy specials in the Bistro lounge & the prime rib with Yorkshire pudding is to die for! On special on a Sunday night yet. The schnitzel is as moist and tender as ever, huge portions too. Extensive menu selection makes deciding on a meal a bit of a challenge. Top notch service and pleasant ambiance. Would definitely recommend.

By Fine dining diva39 of Lower Mainland, Vancouver (2 Reviews)
Submitted Monday, February 4, 2013 - 7:59pm [Dine in]

Have gone here a few times hoping the food would be better 'next time' but not so lucky. The food is bland and tasteless & the barbecue sauce is just plain awful. Dark and bitter, Not good at all. The schnitzel was dry and flavorless!

I would say this is quite possibly the worst Greek food in Maple Ridge. With a such a limited menu selection, there are far more pleasurable dining experiences to be had within a few blocks of this place. Go elsewhere! Bar has very limited choices of liquors and the bartender didn't have a clue what she was doing.

Ambiance?? Service is average at best . Don't waste your time or $$ Sorry, will not be back.

I wish I could say more but I honestly didn't want to waste too much time. Want to let me fellow diners that this is not the place to go. I really hope that it was just an off night but where do I start. Horrible service...waited about 10 minutes to have someone say something to us...finally got our drinks after another 10-15minutes and they were BOTH WRONG!!! What can I say we had the food it really wasn't anything special. It took about 30 minutes to get out to us but I guess that was fine since we finally had our drinks after she switched them for the right ones. Long story short...terrible experience...try it out if you dare but don't you were warned. Really wanted this place to change with the new ownership. Not sure what happened cause Mission Springs kicks a**.

Lava is my all-time favourite place. This is the first (and usually only) choice when we have an occassion to dine out - lunch or dinner. I've been there about 5 times and it has been fantastic each time. The decor is nice - not too dark, not too loud, tables are spaced nicely apart from each other. My husband's company Christmas dinner has been here twice and the service and food have been great both times. The presentation of the food is classy; they don't overdo anything and it is always my first recommendation for friends/family when they are in the Ridge. Good wine selection and if you aren't sure about the wine, as I was twice, both times the recommendation was spot on. If they have any fish on the menu, try it!

Not too sure...and a little scared why there is only 1 review on this place, but went there this morning for breakfast. Totally awesome service!!! The lady (can't remember her name unfortunately) looked like she has been service customers of Maple Ridge for a while now and she had it down to a T. Super smiles right from the start on the coffee and drinks the whole time we were there. We were able to get a corner seat, good thing since my nephew was screaming at the top of his lungs. That didn't stop the service being amazing and the fact that we were there for almost 2 hrs! She kept on coming around to ask us if we wanted any top up on the coffee's and juice/water for the kid. The food wasn't anything special but I definitely had to speak to the service. Totally surprised. To be honest we were going to go to Home Rest. beside it but its was too busy :s but im glad we changed our direction. Place is totally worth it. Hopefully the other staff there were as good as her. Quality/Quantity of food on par with all other places in Maple Ridge.

Had delivery tonight for the first time from these guys. I've had the food many times before but this was the first time trying out the service. Food was fantastic as usual although I could tell it had been sitting for at least 20 or so minutes, but its delivery. I guess that's expected. Driver was a little grumpy and short with me, but staff at the store over the phone very helpful. I've satisfied the craving and had to share. Good job Wok Box! Never returning
By mechanical of Lower Mainland, Vancouver (1 Review)
Submitted Sunday, January 13, 2013 - 10:10pm [Dine in]

A group of us couples went to the Keg at 6:15 to secure a table for a 7:00 diner. We were told that it would be max 30 minute wait and that we should wait at the bar next door as there is not enough room to accomodate all of us at the lounge and wait inside the restaurant. We sat for one hour 45 min in the bar next door with other restaurant patrons as depicted by their beeper disc that calls you when your table is ready running up a nice tab until we decided to go and wait inside the retaurant and demand a table which is what we did and got a table. When we finally got seated and our meals were served my steak was a grissly chew toy and crab legs were cold from being thawed out they were definitely not fresh.

The Kegs food prices are by far not economical as well as the drinks but one should get a fair meal for a fair price but this is definitely not the case here. I eat at restaurants 3-4 nights a week including the Keg where I live but this Keg is way off the mark and should consider changing the way it does business. I would also like to say that I have never complained ever written a review about anything but this this place really needs one written so that things canbe corrected.

Submitted Saturday, January 12, 2013 - 1:32pm [Dine in]

First off I got in and sat down and when proceeding to order I requested one thing that I have requested at 4 other sushi places in the last week and all but this one were more than willing to accommodate. That was my first disappointment. After placing my order I watched the waitress and the cook gossip for a few minutes in their own language. Once receiving my food I was disappointed to see how terribly the tuna was dissected of the bad parts only to bite into my rolls and find something hard that I had I spit out and never did figure out what it was. The rolls were poorly made and the nigiri fell apart as soon as I picked it up. I am disappointed to even pay for this meal and am rather surprised that anyone considers this good sushi. Of 5 places in maple ridge this was the worst and will never come here again.

I found this place to have good food, good service and reasonable prices however it was very loud which doesn't make for a very relaxing lunch. The fish was fresh and the pieces were very large. Too large actually. I had to split my nigiri peices in half in order to eat them.
