Bad
By LauraSmith of Langley (1 Review)
Submitted Thursday, December 27, 2012 - 8:40pm [Delivery]

Made a delivery on a thursday evening and was quoted 45 - 1 hour wait. It wasnt untill an hour and a half later that I called them to see where our food was and it hadn't even left the restaurant. How bad is that. Had we been quoted the actual time frame that we waited we would have just gone to another location. Very disappointed in this location.

It's cheap and they refill soup and bread for free.
Pizza - $12.99
This giant slice of pizza was so big that the server had to cut it in half. We chose the meat lovers pizza which had pepperoni and sausage in it. The crust was surprisingly delicious and we both enjoyed this pizza.

I'm surprised there aren't any reviews for Jim's Pizza. This is, hands down, the best pizzeria in Langley, and maybe even in all of the Fraser Valley. Everyone in my circle of friends, workplace and myself have ordered from Jim's for years. The pizza is consistently good, and the ingredients are always fresh. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favour and order one today. The special with feta added is my favourite, the spiked hawaiian is also delicious and they do a basic pepperoni or ham & pineapple better then anyone else.

Used to be good...

I went here a few times in 2011 and the food was really good.
The calamari used to be a good sized portion. The caesar salad used to not contain overpowering vinegar.
The Gino's Linguini used to have salmon lox served on top of it as a garnish.

But now? That's all history.

Now, you get a tiny portion of calamari, hardly worth the $10 price tag you're slapped with.

The caesar salad tastes like they EMPTIED a 2 litre bottle of white vinegar into the dressing and about 25 lemons.

Gino's Linguini has fish bones in it -not a pleasent find at all! And it's a small portion, which is really sad.

The waitress - wait, is she a server even? - seemed like she didn't want to be there at all, and was almost angry about serving us.

When the meal was over and I handed her a $100 dollar bill (the cost of the meal was $42.58) she said "so we're good now?" and tried to withold my $50 plus dollars change. Excuse me? Did you think I was going to tip you $50 bucks for nothing!!?

Then she said "oh, you want your change?". I said coldly, "Damn right, I do." grabbed my $50 and beat it the hell out of there.

I will never go back to what I have deemed Beaten. Crappy food. Even crappier service.

McDonald's has better food and service, and many of the employees at McD's are high school aged.

Great food!

My husband and I go here quite a bit, and though it's not a fancy upscale place, the food is really good.
The wontons in the wonton soup really ARE handmade and to get a really good value, ask for the "large" or "Xtra large" size.

If you want the Canadian food on the menu, the server reccomends the Chinese instead, and to be honest, I would agree with her. No, it's not terrible, just that the highlight of the place is the chinese cuisine.

In paticular, the Almond or Lemon chicken, and the deep fried prawns make you take notice. The batter they are dipped in is likely made with Free Range eggs because it cooks up really nice and tasteful, not the drab oily dishes many other chinese restaurants have. Always crisp, but never hard to bite into.

The Combo for one dishes are a great value, and when you also order jasmine tea with them, makes the meal complete.

The vegetables are always bright, vibrant and steamed fresh. They have the crunch you expect of freshly steamed food. The sauces on the dishes are light and flavorful, not overpowering the dish at all.

We ordered the following:

Beef and Broccoli

Almond Chicken

Deep Fried Prawns

Sweet and Sour Pork

Chicken Chop Suey

Nothing to complain about here whatsoever. It is a favorite of ours, and we will keep eating here.

As stated above, the decor is not fancy, as the location has been here since the late 1970's, early 1980's (it looks to be that age) and the washrooms aren't fancy but they are really clean. Not that you'd want to eat in the bathroom.

Nice local place for authentic Greek food. The ambiance and decor makes it very welcoming to have a long, enjoyable dinner. Everything on the menu is fantastic and portions are always really great.I'm a fan of the chicken souvlaki. Enjoy! The tazitki sauce is absolutely the best I've ever had! I'm not Greek so I don't have much to compare to, but I know good food when I eat it. Great local eatery.

It was long time since visiting a KEG and I wonder why. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our booth was little weird as there was normal space on one side and the other was at least 3 or 4 inches narrower.
Waiter was some what attentive to our needs and nicely but not over the top friendly ,but a little slow on replenishing our coffees. I ordered the Tai Chicken and asked for a bit more spicey heat and the chef accommodated and the meal was perfect.Everyone at the table was most pleased with experience.

Do you know, beside Sushi, Japanese is also known to the world for it's steak and cooking sea food ? One of the best place to appreciate Japanese food is this Katana.

I had my meal there today and was impressed by the taste of food, sweetness of the service and uniqueness of the ambiance.

If you like here, recommend it to your friend; if you do not like here, send your enemy here.

I like vietnamese dishes and was in the area at lunch time. Had a friend with me and we both ordered the lemon grass chicken with spring roll bowl with noodle and veggie. It was very nicely done and was by no means a let down. The prices are about par for the kind of restaurant. Good service and it being a Tuesday lunch time they were doing pretty good business. Lots of seating in what looked like a fairly clean restaurant. My only somewhat complaint is they did not have some items on the menu or combos that I really like. We left there feeling well fed on a tasty dish though. I would recommend it on just what I had.

Definitely not the Dragon Fort
By blunoze of Langley, B. C. Canada (3 Reviews)
Submitted Sunday, November 25, 2012 - 9:11am [Dine in]

This place used to be called the Dragon Fort and was a pretty good chinese restaurant in Aldergrove. New owners took over a couple of years ago and the place has steadily gone downhill.
First the prices went up which is understandable - inflation. But then the food started to get lower cost - not much for vegetable variety in the Chow Mein. Then the plates got smaller. The other day I was in for lunch and they have watered down the Sweet&Sour sauce.
What was once a decent place is unfortunately gone and I have to try and find a new place for good Chinese food in Langley.

We ordered take out tonight, 4 entrees in total. There were mushrooms on the pizza, sundried tomatoes in the penne, and minimal, possibly no sauce on the linguine clam pasta. All of which were specified over the phone. Everything we had requested was not done.

The garlic toast was awful. It was cold bread with some butter on it.

If you plan on going into the restaurant so you can babysit your order, then it's fine, but if you are thinking of ordering out.... Make sure you open everything there because they will screw it up!

Great place for families or dates to dine!
By rustymaz of Langley (3 Reviews)
Submitted Sunday, November 18, 2012 - 11:13pm [Dine in]

Most of the time I do take out from Andreas although I have dined at the restaurant before. The place has a nice inviting feel for families to come along as well as bringing your date along for a nice meal out. They have TV's to watch hockey and UFC for those sports lovers too.

Most of the time I order a pizza so i can only comment on that food, and being at lots of pizza joints this place has the best tasting pizzas after Golphis. I usually order from Andreas every 2 weeks and are my preferred choice for wanting Pizza.

The service is very good, you can see the staff are working hard to get everyone's meals and inquiries even though it gets very busy there a lot of the time.

Overall Andreas has a very nice inviting old fashioned feel which older people will love to bring their families and younger ones to bring their date. The food is delicious, the waiting time isn't too bad about 15 mins, the service is good and value is about as good as what you get. Defiantly recommend coming here!

Great Chinese place for good food for a cheap price!
By rustymaz of Langley (3 Reviews)
Submitted Sunday, November 18, 2012 - 11:02pm [Dine in]

I go to Silver Dragon on average every 2 weeks since it's just down my block from where i live, but also because it has good food for affordable prices.

The best time to go is during lunch where prices are a lot cheaper. The portions of the meals are huge, i never can eat the whole plate and i'm a big eater, they happily wrap it up to go too. The service is really good, the lady is exceptionally nice and polite and constantly refilled my water whenever it got near empty.

The restaurant itself looks a bit low end though, it has a simple design which doesn't wow you but I think it still is a nice cosy quiet place to eat. I don't have a problem eating there but perhaps others looking for a fancy looking restaurant might be put off.

Overall the food is tasty, for a decent price or at lunch specials are excellent, you get big portions of food - the service is great in a nice small cosy low polish restaurant. Defiantly recommend this place!

Baseline

Submitted Sunday, November 18, 2012 - 2:09pm [Dine in]

We went to baseline's in langley to watch the UFC and to dine-in. They have a pretty good choice of different foods available. I had the Burger Mozza Buger which was just OK, passable but nothing spectacular, i paid $10 for it which isn't too bad, came with fries which were not bad. For drinks I had Heineken which was on special that evening for $4.75 for a pine, which was the only pretty good value.

The service was pretty terrible, we had to wait 30mins to get served after being seated it took another 20 mins to get our drinks, my girlfriend had to wait 30mins to get a damn water later in the evening! We asked for menus but the service girl said she couldnt give us any since they were all being used by other customers, so after another 20 mins we finally got our menus. After we ordered it was about 30mins before the food came, which i didnt have a big problem with since we were watching the UFC on TV.

The place itself has that stingy feel where it looks inviting from the outside but inside it feels like your in a dirt hole. It's perfect for guys who want to hang out and get drunk watching sports like UFC or the hockey but as a family or get together you probably want to check out Andreas Restaurant down the road.

Overall it was quite poor, the only thing saving it all was watching the UFC on TV, good atmosphere there but on a typical night I couldn't see myself coming back here again. My Recommendation is don't go here, unless your a bunch of dudes who just want to get drunk and get rowdy which then you wouldn't care about anything.

Filthy bathroom-filthy kitchen??
By mirsy of S. Surrey (1 Review)
Submitted Friday, November 16, 2012 - 11:25pm [Dine in]

I went to the washroom before I ate and was discusted. OMG it was so filthy. No toilet paper, toilet not flushed, only one sink tap worked, no paper towel, the floor was full of dirt everywhere. I was amazed it passed health inspection. I had to go into another stall to get toilet paper and used that to dry my hands after washing! So I wondered how clean the kitchen was???
We had Dim Sum. It was expensive, I had to ask for dipping sauces, the clams were full of sand, the deep fried squid was greasy and tough.
I could NOT recommend this dump. I was there mid week and there were only a few people eating there. Mostly Caucasians and only one Asian... they must know not to eat here!

Went to try this busy place out, and see what the fuss was, well the salad is nice, and a couple bread sticks, was tasty, but the meal was very cheap and small considering it was pretty expensive. Almost 20 dollars for a small plate of pasta with chopped tomatoes, and tiny piece of chicken on top, which is so small I barely could tell chicken was there, they had so many tomatoes on it. The old spa factory is a much better deal for about the same food. I was disappointed that this meal was so cheap, and yet cost so much on their menu. I went there to order veggie lasagna because I dont eat beef, well they didnt have veggie, which was also strange, even the waiter said how strange, can just take out the beef. Well I will not go there again, too much for they hype, and not worth the actual meal they give you.

We recently tried Kostas for Dine In. We live in Cloverdale and we've had delivery numerous times, but decided to have a night out on the town. My fiance had the Rack of Ribs and I tried the roast lamb. My lamb was so tender and juicy. So delicious! We will go again very soon or atleast I'll be sure to order the roast lamb instead of the Chicken Soulvaki when we do delivery :).
