Had a great experience here! Wish the place was bigger, because it's SO busy! There were a lot of people getting take out (we were seated, right across from the take out area) which makes me think it's good! We got seated promptly as we arrived pretty early in the evening. The soup was AMAZING!
I enjoyed the whole experience.
Horrible experience. Took almost 20 minutes for take out. The people (who happened to be East Indian, like the people serving them) who came in after us got their take out food before us, and we ordered the same thing they did! Totally unimpressed. Very over priced chicken. Not going back.
We had lunch at Adrian's today and sat on the patio which was lovely. The food took a long time to arrive. My dad had the lamb and mom had a beef dip. They were both pleased with their meals. My son and I received less than satisfactory meals. The lettuce on my sandwich and side salad was limp and brown. My son ordered a kid's cod and Ceasar salad. His salad was yellow. I spoke with our server who said the salads seemed rotten but did not offer to exchange them or remove mine which was untouched from our bill. She did say she would mention it to the kitchen staff. I suggested she tell hem not to serve that. She said they put the lettuce in a bucket of ice so it was possible mine had been frozen then thawed. I wouldn't feed the salad I received to my guinea pig. Shame on you Adrian's! Next time, I'll pack my own lunch and watch the planes from the parking lot
We have been eating here for many years and through several owners. It used to be a good old fashioned restaurant with decent food, service and prices. Now it it just a restaurant with poor food. Never had a problem with any of the wait staff but a lot of the old timers are gone now.
We stopped in last Saturday while running errands. First appearances count and many, many specials are taped to the windows to attract customers. It is off putting. Service is so slow it is painful. Oddly, the place is often busy.
The coffee is awful, utensils cheap, a menu that offers far too many items. We were informed that a week day special is now available on weekends. We chose to have breakfast. My hash browns were so dry and overcooked I could have used them as sandpaper, cold too. Bacon was the same.
I was checking others plates and commented that the stove seems to have two settings. Off and burned. It was not all bad. The toast was OK.
It seems to be worse on each visit so the time has come for me to pull the plug on this place. It's too bad considering what it used to be.
The Moxies was better but not by much. Sorry Rockford, bring some excitement to your food. The whole restaurant team should go out to the Town Hall up the street and see the food they put out. It looks exciting and tastes great and is at a great price point.
Absolutely delicious food. Had it all HOT and it was wonderful. Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Rogenjosh, and of course Butter Chicken. All fabulous, renewed my appreciation for Indian food. The heat was awesome and the flavours of the fresh herbs were perfect. If you like Indian food I would give this place a try. I cannot comment on their other dishes as I don't think I will ever want to order anything else.
What a difference a few months cane make....!
Food is now even better than previous owners and cooks.. Same big portion, but full of flavour, sauces aren't watery and land..Meat is meat and great quality...
Service is as always quick, efficient and very polite..
Still on the sparse side of decor, but we weren't there to stare at the walls, we were there for great food..
Exceptional value for dollar point and huge portions ..
Keep up the great food quality guys !
I know there isn't much to choose from as far as AYCE sushi goes in Langley, or even all of Surrey for that matter, so it's nice to have one close by now. New ownership took over in 2011 or so, and it's been good since then. Worth checking out if you don't want to spend thru the nose to try various items.
We had heard of this restaurant and decided to take a drive to check it out.
My wife ordered chicken Tikka and myself chicken curry.
We were the only customers in the place around 5:30pm. The food took about half an hour. I'm not sure if we arrived at the wrong time of day. The chicken curry tasted like Campbell's tomato soup with dried fenugreek leaves mixed in. I was very displeased with my meal and won't return. For us both to eat it was $41. The naan was also greasy.
We usually go to Tasty indian bistro on Scott rd. very fancy restaurant with excellent food and service at a comparable price. Guess we will stick to where we know. Wish I had better things to say about Tandoori flame but I am confused as to all the great reviews!
I last reviewed this restaurant in 2009 and it was not a kind review then either.
First appearance revealed empty newspaper boxes, patio railings that looked ready to fall over and a general feeling that the place had gone bankrupt and closed.
We arrived at 5:45 PM to find only one car in the parking lot, Not a good sign. It looked like it was closed but on trying the door it was indeed open for business. There was only one couple seated. The staff are all friendly enough but...After being seated I asked the hostess/greeter a simple question regarding the menu. She became quite flustered and stammered that I could ask the waitress.
I ordered ribs and pasta, specifying three times that I wanted pesto sauce. When my order arrived the sauce looked and tasted like alfredo sauce. I asked what the difference was in their restaurant between alfredo and pesto sauce. I was informed that they use a mixture of alfredo and pesto. Huh? The pork ribs were more pink than I prefer.
My wife ordered the turkey dinner. I asked her about it. It looked like stove top dressing mix, the veg were overcooked, and instant potatoes. I could have gone to the local grocery store and bought packaged dinner items that would have been as good. I expect a bit more from a restaurant for a fifty dollar cost.
Considering that they are on the same plot of land as a hotel who do not have a restaurant I expected they would be much busier. By the time we left, not one other customer came through the doors. Apparently they all know something that I don't.
No reason to go back for another four years I suppose.
We have been to the Olive Garden many times and have taken many people there. We have never been disappointed. The service is always great even though the place is always busy. Everyone there is very friendly and the manger is on the ball. We have nothing negative to say about this place.
A gem right across from Douglas park, nice change from Venetis and Chinese. Husband and Wife team with Dad in the back. Great Breakfast (gotta try the homemade pan fries mmmm!), specials all the time, great variety (just ask) which includes home baked goods. Dine in Take out, some catering, I have ordered tasty and elegant looking Bday cakes for friends and my youngest sons favorite--Grilled Cinnamon buns...
The restaurant smelled like puke, i'm not sure if they used dirty mop water or someone had puked somewhere. We only stayed because I was starving. :/ The food was decent, I just stay with safe things like appetizers, pizza and burgers. If the restaurant smelled the same next time we would not stay.
WOW. Went here for the first time a couple nights ago. What great service. These guys really know their stuff! My GF ordered the Hot and Sour Soup to start. I always thought it looked kinda scary ;) Well its AMAZING. Such a mixture of amazing flavors. I am now craving it! We ordered the Beef Brisket and Radish Hot Pot (I would never have EVER ordered it myself) to the suggestion of the waiter and it was super. Meat was the most tender beef I have ever had. I ordered a combo meal and have posted a pic. There was enough food for dinner and a couple lunches! Again, service is outstanding and the restaurant is very clean. Fresh seafood tank looked great and they had a great sale on crab! Thats what we will do next! Try this place! You will not be disapointed. Check out my photos.
to be honest did not ever think that will ever head to the place again after the previous attempt but did go back yesterday (9th april 2013). my office colleagues wanted me to try their buffet, i told them my previous experience and they agreed that if the same waitress was there during lunch time they would be more than happy not to enter the restaurant, but went in after checking only to find that the old lady wasn't working there. then we all four entered and really found that the food was really awsome and their salad a very different one and never tasted before, the corn salad seemed to melt in the mouth and the okra which i never thought would have anyone thought to use in a salad but seemed so perfect.
till the time i dont see the old ladys face i would like to go back at this place.
Moving to the area so we scouted out the restaurant. I'm thankful that we've found a great chinese food spot! There is a great selection of dishes that range from not really authentic to very authentic so there's something for everyone. They offer a good combo menu but I loved the fish hot pot and the rice cakes. Everything we ordered was delicious. Will definitely be back.
Ban Chok Dee-liscious .
I reviewed this restaurant in 2012 and it had some issues. It wasn't great for brining kids in terms of wait time.
I have given ban Chok Dee-Liscious another try and am very glad I did.
I have a toddler and they managed to take our order ,have our food to us, eat ,paid and ready to be on our way in 45 minutes. I noted there were lots of couples on dates so they are also likely sensitive to you wanting to take your time and enjoy the romantic moment.
The food was delicious and prepared to order..ie. no spice on the dish I asked for no spice and medium spice for my wife who likes her food spicy.
The Thai sticky rice was great.
The greeter, usher really made a Thai impression complete with a perfect Thai Smile.....you will have to visit for yourself to figure out what I mean by this.
If you like Thai food or would like to try something different this is definitely a good option:)
I overheard one table had driven in from chilliwack for the food and were very happy they had.
Thank you to the Management and Ownership for having worked on this and turned it into a Gem. It's definitely worth the drive and an asset to our community.
Went here for lunch while I did some shopping in Langley. It was not easy place to find if you do not have a GPS. The restaurant is located between some residential complex and the building the place is in could have been pass off as a 1 level motel. Well the ambiance inside is quite nice and the ALL-U-CAN-EAT is quite good. The selections is limited, there was no sashimi on the $12.99 menu but if you wanted it you have to pay more. There was also a $21.99 menu which I believe there was sashimi. Yet for the $12.99 menu you get some interesting and tasty rolls such as the Crazy roll which is a cali roll deep fried. The food was fresh and was delightfully served promptly. I was impressed for what you pay for. Would definitely come back for AYCE when I am in the neighbourhood.
I would have NEVER gone to this place except multi family members decided for the group.I had "The Legendary" burger. Horrible ! Fries where just warm and soggy, The oil in their fryer needs to be changed and cleaned thoroughly .The fries were the worst I have had in a long time, Burger tasted as if it was a out of box of preformed frozen tasteless globs of meat. No tomato as stated. My wife had a Halibut burger with a piece of pickle stuck on with a tooth pick , SHE HATES PICKLES . The bun was saturated with pickle juice. The others in our party where similarily un impressed and funnily we all said we should have said something but didn't want to spoil the occassion.
NEVER will I go back. Gone down hill and now in my "no eat zone ".
Yet the place was busy. Come folks on you deserve better fare , go some place else.
Dim Sum in Langley. Doesn't roll of the tongue very well does it? Actually, there is the occasional steamed duck tongues available at some Dim Sum joints... Anyways, some people might consider Dim Sum in Langley to be an oxymoron of sorts. Or maybe just plain moronic to think that is possible. Hey, don't be so quick to judge though. My last foray into "chain restaurant" central yielded not only acceptable Dim Sum; but pretty good one at that. I'm not joking. Really! That was at Luxe, which is really Surrey/Langley rather than outright Langley. This time around, we were determined to find some more Dim Sum out here. In fact, it would be at a restaurant we have previously visited. Last time, we had a relatively decent dinner at Empire Garden .
The kids didn't care since they proceeded to scoop the inside only. Well, it is always a victory when the kiddies eat and cause as little disruption as possible. In terms of the Dim Sum here, it is pretty good, especially for Langley. If you weren't paying attention, the restaurant could pass for something in Vancouver or even *gasp* Richmond. Nothing extraordinary; but it does hold its own. The prices are on the higher side which is a reflection of the restaurant itself. The decor is nice and the service is fairly good. But, if one wanted Dim Sum in the area, I still prefer Luxe since it is less expensive and has comparable, if not better Dim Sum. The push carts at Luxe are also a novelty if you prefer that. Now the real challenge is to find a 3rd place in Langley that serves decent Dim Sum. Stay tuned...
