Went here to celebrate a quiet bday. The location is off the beaten path and if you were not paying attention, you most likely pass it. It is located in a strip mall and does not seem to pretty at first till you go in. The decor is modern and reminds me of Milestone lounge type restaurant. That is where the comparison ends. The ambiance is brighter than the lounge type restaurant which is great as I want to see what I am eating. We ordered two cooked oysters, one had crumbled cheese and the other I believe was the "Fat Cow" or something like that relating to the restaurant. Both cooked oysters were delicious. We also ordered the shrimp/crab cake and the octopus appies. Both appies were very tasty and fresh. I ordered the 1lb mussels in a white wine cream sauce served over 3 slices of bread, my better half ordered the Fried chicken and waffles. Both dishes came out hot and fresh. My better half had 4 large pieces of chicken (leg, thigh, breast and wing) over 4 average size waffles. The syrup and the freshness was excellent. Mine 1lb of mussels was also very tasty. Original thought the sauce should have been more, but the amount ended up just right. I wished the bread was toasted with some garlic butter (in my opinion) but it just came out unbutter. I guess it was not to take away the tasted from the white wine sauce. We talked to the host/waitress and found out that the majority of all the products were from BC. From the organic chicken to the onions in the white wine sauce was local. Thus helps out the local farmers. The price was on the steeper side but was well worth it. I would not say that I would eat here all the time, but for special occasions or a night out, I would definitely return. I was impressed with the service as they kept my water full and was willing to answer any questions asked upon them. Will highly recommend and return.
We decided to end 2013 with a light early dinner at Milestone's in Langley. We arrived about 6:30 and were advised the restaurant was serving a set $45 meal, but we were welcome to dine in the bar area off the regular menu, which we did.
I had eaten a little later in the afternoon so was not terribly hungry, so we decided to order their artichoke dip to start & then we shared their Asian steak salad. As always the dip was rich, creamy and had more than enough calories for us to share.
The Asian steak salad was a surprise. There was a good portion of very tender steak, medium rare as ordered, Asian noodles, lettuce, peppers & avocado, in a lovely dressing. The portion was more than adequate for the two of us and in fact, it was not completely finished.
Service was great & the wait staff extremely friendly. Bill including a Bellini and tip was $42. Of the similarly themed Earl's & Cactus Club, I personally find Milestone's most to my liking.
Ordered online since they delivered to my area and I have company comping over.
Food- average, nothing amazing. It was hot when it arrived and tasted good, but not my favourite place to order from. Ordered "large" sizes and had lots of leftovers!
Service - They arrived at the wrong time. I submitted my order for delivery at 6:50 and they were there at 6. I did make amistake and entered my address wrong and they had to call and confirm and were very nice about it.
Value - Again, average. They had a 20% off discount if you ordered over $50 which was nice. All in all, I think I'd continue to go elsewhere.
Was out for dinner with my significant other. Both times we went, the server was on the ball.
Quick to refill our drinks, constant asking as or consistently asking us how our food was.
Spot on service.
We are definitely returning.
Food is not way out of this world, I would say good but solid.
Everything was well done.
We really enjoyed it and thought the icecream/ tea and bread /soup are very good to have.
Was really great
Oven roasted wings, excellent, the beer specials were great. And the bartender was great. the 6 of us had a great time. The waitress Sam, was so much fun. We were there for Monday Night Football and is was great. They need new Monitors and they are coming soon. See you next Monday!!!
I was looking for a Chinese restaurant in downtown Langley as usual I checked dine here, this restaurant popped up as a Chinese restaurant. This is no Chinese restaurant and should be removed form this list.... it is a little embarrassing to go into a restaurant ask for a menu then while reading the menu you realize there is no Chinese food in the menu just curry stuff, that gives me heart burn so I got up and left. embarrassing to say the least.
Ordered from Silver Dragon. They advised us the wait for delivery was 45 min. After an hour I called them. The lady that answered the phone said the kitchen was backed up and it would be another 15 min. before the order would leave. I asked them why this wasnt communicated with me at time of order or i wasnt called to say my delivery order would take double the time to arrive than promised. You wouldnt let a customer walk into restaurant and have them wait 1.5 hrs for medicore chinese food. i asked for a discount or an extra nd they told me they couldnt do anything for me. What poor customer service. The food was ok.
I realized I didn't write a review of my New Year's Day visit to this restaurant. We always go out to IHOP for New Year's Day but decided to come to De Dutch for a change. I've eaten at other restaurants and the food's OK and I think they're overpriced for what you get but we'd never tried this De Dutch.
Located in a strip mall there is lots of parking. Husband had to make a phone call so I went inside to get a table. No one in line ahead of me and there were several empty tables. 3 wait staff rushing around. Not a single one would catch my eye but they were aware I was there because most of them walked within 5 feet of me and turned their head so they wouldn't have to acknowledge me. Not one of them could even say "someone will be with you in a moment". How rude is that? Clearly there is no host/hostess in this restaurant or maybe they were on a break and had no coverage.
After 5 minutes my husband came inside and was amazed I was still standing there. He said "you haven't been seated yet". I said "No, they're ignoring me." He said, "They're ignoring you? Let's go."
And then we went to IHOP on the Fraser Highway. They were busy but as soon as we walked in the door the cashier was bobbing her head around to catch my eye and seated us right away.
The staff at the Langley location of De Dutch should spend some time at IHOP and learn from them on how to greet customers.
I complained to the head office and got the typical sorry with a feeble attempt to justify their staff's rudeness.
I've never been ignored at any other De Dutch location but no way will I go back to the Langley location. Stick with restaurants who value their customers and want their business.
Normally going out to this place has been a good experience, but we came on a Sunday night one time. We had just gotten there before the dinner rush and because we were there about 4:45?, we had thought that service would be reasonable. It took about 15 minutes for a waiter/ waitress to take our order. Then suddenly ,of course, there was a dinner rush.
The most unreasonable wait I have had in a restaurant was on this Sunday, 45 minutes.
I really did not feel like writing a bad review but there was yet a few more problems.
As I observed, 3 other tables of people, who arrived AFTER we had been there for now, an hour, got served their food FIRST. I had gotten ready to leave when my partner said to wait.
It was a very disrespectful gesture to us.
I was dressed up and ready to have a nice dinner, but felt this wait was unreasonable.
When we got our dinner, it was cold. the only thing hot was the rice... so meanwhile 3 other tables of people (who had arrived 20 minutes after we had been there, got served first), we had cold cold food.
the only good thing was getting free tea. that was about it.
I mean I understand they were busy, but it seemed understaffed and they should bring in more people to work the weekends maybe? And prioritizing your order of orders is such a basic business practice....
the quality was just not there that night and we both felt really unappreciated
It took a "quick" 10 minutes for a different waitress to fetch our bill, just because they wanted to seat more people (of course) and didn't thank us at the end either.
It was brutal. I won't be returning unfortunately.
I can get better Asian food downtown Burnaby, and within an hour we could have gone to Burnaby....
Brookswood in South Langley has a few good pizza places to choose from. I suppose that's why it took me 5 years to discover Glenwood Pizza. Now that I have I won't go anywhere else. Their sauce is delicious and toppings are all fresh. I order thin crust and extra cooked for a crispy bottom. It is perfect every time.
Having recently found a sister pub to this location and being impressed, we tried to have dinner at the Langley location. Granted it was Friday afternoon at 4:45 PM when we stopped there so I understood it would be busy. Just the two of us. Greeted as we walked in looking for table. My comment is with the reservation policy. The only open tables all had reservation signs on them. Really? In a pub? We had sat down and then saw that the table was reserved, as were several tables around us. In my opinion, you can't be comfortable at a table with such a sign as you are worried about being able to eat and be ready to leave before the people who reserved the table arrive. If they arrive early, am I expected to vacate the table immediately? At the end of the day, this is a pub that we chose to leave because of the reservation policy. We went to another place with open tables and spent our money there. Being that it is a pub with what I assume to be decent food, I can't say I am a fan of being able to reserve a table. I will gladly go back to the sister establishment but doubt I will go back to the Langley location now.
I was on way home on Halloween. Stopped in to order pizza for the family. Waited in a line for 10 min and then I ordered $60 of pizza. Tried to pay with a NEW $100 bill and was told no, to go across the street to the bank to get change. I could understand if it was $10 in pizza.. But $60? I went to the bank. They have never heard of any fake new $100 bills. Got the change. Stood in line for another 10 min. Ordered the pizza. Tried to talk to the manager but she was too busy sitting in office. To top it off the pizza wasn't great. Mediocre at best. Will not be going back again
Went here on the recommendation of a friend who also has a child to this family restaurant. The restaurant has a great feel of Santa's workshop with the old wooden horses and the toy train that circles around the room. Neat decor. The service is outstanding. Prompt and friendly. We ordered the fish and chips and chicken lips with curly fries for the kids. My better half ordered the bacon cheese burger with fries ($13.95) and I ordered the 6oz steak anf garlic bread with Manhattan clam chowder soup ($16) The fish was a large serving along with the fries for one of our kid, The chicken lips (chicken nuggets) had only four in the dish along with some curly fries. Both kids lunches were $6. The fish and chips was awesome value but the chicken lips was pricey for what you got. Better half's bacon burger was ok. Nothing special as I took some bites out of it. It reminds me of a hambuger you would make at a Bar-B-Q. My steak was ordered rare (blue rare to be exact) and it came out medium rare, I mentioned it to our waiter and he quickly corrected that. After a few moments a new blue rare steak sandwich came out. I noticed that the prices were a bit more expensive than other burger joints by about a few dollars (depending what type of dish you want). The atompheres was fun and the kids seem to really enjoy the trains. Only the food could justified the higher prices. Fortunately we had a coupon which took a bit off the sting of the satisfactory meals. Overall I would consider coming back as long as I had a coupon as the prices are a bit too steep for the food.
I am not one to complain but in this case I just felt the need to share with people so they don’t waste their time and money as I did. I had lunch here just recently I was joined by my husband and nephew I was so excited to try this wings location as it is so close to my work and I have always enjoyed other Wing establishment and to my disappointment sadly this was not this case this time around. My wings were delicious hot and tasty the service was average but each of us ordered a plate wings to START which we clearly stated upon placing our orders it took about 25 minutes and the waitress brought out our main course prior to appetizers hmmmm that’s a first. When I began eating my main course I quickly noticed my prawns were raw the kitchen forgot to put the sauce the salmon and the cheese in my pasta I had a few bites and tossed it upon arriving back to work. I work at an Engineering firm Monday thru Friday and bartend and waitress on the weekend my recommendations would be to offer more training for the staff and inform the kitchen to put the ingredients in the food that is offered on the menu. It’s so crappy being excited for lunch and so disappointed and ripped off by the end of it. That’s all I have to say.
The best sushi I've ever had. Even our friend, isn't a fan of sushi, really enjoyed it and will start coming here. We really like Crazy Boy, Crying Chicken and Hot Crab rolls . The staff is super friendly, they say hello right when you come in and service is fast. The decor is very exquisite, and the food they serve is an art!! I will forever be a fan of daegil sushi.
Like my title states, beware if you are going to be using coupons at this OPA! location. A coworker and I saw on mobile bandit that there was a deal for a buy one entree get the second entree free (with purchase of 2 beverages that came to an additional $5.00). So we decided to got there for lunch. When we got to the register and informed the woman who I can only assume is the owner, we were greeted with great disrespect and attitude. She acted annoyed at the fact we were using a coupon?? She then refused to allow us to substitute our pita bread for ANYTHING (no where on the coupon did it say no substitutions).
The rest of the experience was just horrible and not even worth getting a "free" entree! While she was making out food she was glaring and whispering to her other co worker! This woman has zero customer service skills and how she is running a business is beyond me.
Finally, when I asked instead of getting my tzatziki sauce on the side, if i could get it just on top of the bread (that I didn't even really want) she YELLED at us saying that this is the way that it came and if we wanted better service to come back without a coupon! We took our food and told her we would not be back and she yelled something in Punjabi at us (maybe a derogatory comment?) and told us we weren't welcome back and that she didn't care!
The food was also the worst OPA I have ever ate, I go to the one in Willowbrook Mall all the time and the food and service is always excellent there. Our Potatoes tasted someone drenched them in curry powder and our bread was dry and not edible! Blah - What a disappointment considering all the trouble we went through.
All of this because we used a coupon that in the end only saved us about $2.00 - not worth it in my opinion, we work for HUGE company down the street and will be telling EVERYONE about what happend :)
Went here with the kids and a friend with his kid. We had the AYCE lunch. The sushi was satisfactory. The freshness was ok. I was expecting more. The spicy scallop roll, california and dynamite rolls was nothing outstanding. The tempura was hot and tasty. The children had the terayaki chicken on rice and they barely ate that. We were told that kids 4 and under were free thus we had 3 of them. When the bill came, they charged the 4yr old after all. Instead of arguing, we just paid. The dining experience was just ok, I would not go out of my way to venture to eat here again, if ever.
Watch out Damiko, Mori sushi might move into number one. The food was a small touch pricier than I would like to see but on par with damiko. The ambiance is excellent . Innovative blossoming trees and traditional style seating. The food tasted very good. I would like to see bento boxes on the dinner menu at around 14$ chirashi would also be better at 13.95 I would order it at that price but not at 17$ however, the ambiance is very nice. I very rarely eve say that about any restaurant. I would say its equivalent to Japanese food as Olive Garden is to Italian in terms of Decore.
I've got my eye on this restaurant as its a hidden gem which I'm sure will soon have a line up out the door.
This is a best Indian restaurant! The food was fresh and tasty and their service was friendly and staff was very helpful!
We will definitely come back again in the future as we were very satisfied with food.
Ps. Butter Chicken used to be my favourite but after trying their Mango Chicken I’m loving it
This is probably the best flame grilled chicken that I've ever been to in the lower mainland. everything was outstanding and I got my food within
5 mins of arriving. the staff who work there are very nice and outgoing. the peri peri chicken is the best and make sure you try the peri dip for the fires. You can sauce up your chicken with any flavours and everything is just perfect with that. The location is good and awesome for patio sitting and very clean.
