Have been a regular at Dots now for many years. Usually for breakfast but my craving for their patty melts and burgers creep into my psyche on occasion.Their shredded hash browns (shredded by hand daily on some cool hand held device brought from their home) are hot ,crispy, and fresh every time.
Eggs are always done perfectly. Tracy runs the front and her husband Vince looks after the cooking. Both are very friendly and excellent at what they do. As costs increase from all sides, their menu has been constant. I have told them they should charge more but they are not greedy and probably don't want to hurt the seniors that value their scratch cooking. Tuna sandwich and soups are always amazing. If you like home made, tasty food, Dots is the place.

Came here with family for some Indian food. Was extremely satisfied. Tried their lunch buffet. Although there were not that many varieties, it was still an outstanding presentation of delicious and typical East Indian food. There was even hot Chai tea and tasty Naan. The staff were courteous and helpful. I was surprised at the cleanliness of the washrooms, which was a stark difference from the what one of the prehistoric reviews described below. I definitely would return to this restaurant!

This was my first time going here. Sat in the dining room, but did notice that the patio looks great. Really likes the atmosphere...place was really full. I had a Caesar salad and the plush scalloped potato and they were bothe very disappointing! The salad was mediocre and the scalloped potato was pretty much a spring roll filled with potato, topped with sour cream. My friend had the Blackened chicken bowl, it was alright EXCEPT the chicken was like only half a breast piece. Drinks were good, thank God! We decided not to try dessert since all our food was pretty disappointing. It's a shame since the place is actually nice inside!

I went for dinner last night. Nice effort to create a festive feel and food was very good. However, the service was awful. Meals took about 45 min to be served. The waitress rarely came around to check on how things were. With proper management this place has great potential. I would go back because I enjoy good mexican food, but now I know that It may take a while to eat. Make sure you don't leave without ordering the Banana Slit mmmmmm.

Stopped by for lunch and ordered one of their special hamburgers with the football theme, there were 4 of them to choose from. They were asking you to vote for the best one online. Well, what a frustrating dining experience. I made the mistake of ordering one of these gargantuan burgers and what a mess. It was served "open face" with the patty, mushrooms etc. on one side of the bun and the lettuce, tomato etc. on the other side of the bun. I put the burger together and tried to pick it up and it just totally fell apart. It is so huge it is impossible to pick up and it just became one big mushy mess that was absolutely impossible to eat like a normal hamburger. I had to eat the thing with a knife and fork and 50 million napkins. Why serve a burger like that? Would I go to Mr. Mike's again? Sure. Would I order another one of those "special" burgers? Not on a triple dog dare.

Decent Chinese food in Langley? I don't really know the Chinese food scene here, because it's not my neighourhood. I assume that the reviews for this place are a bit inflated due to lack of tasty competition. Still, Luxe isn't too bad. I went for Dim Sum, and if you don't know Dim Sum, look out. They'll give you a menu if you don't know how it works, but otherwise they seem content to just bring around a tray and visually offer you various choices. If you don't know the various shrimp bawls, prawn rolls or rice in banana leaf combos, you might not really know what they're showing you. It's not that their giving terribly bad service or aren't understanding, it's more that they except you to know the game and the rules.

The food's pretty good. Standard dimsum fair, maybe a bit better. Rolls came with a strange vinager sauce that didn't compliment it well. Banana leaf rice and beef was delicious.

Valuewise, it's fairly good. I had a tonne of food over two people, and we only paid 30 after tip. I suppose if you're in Langley and feeling like Chinese, this isn't a bad spot. It certainly isn't "Westernized" if that kind of thing scares you, and the location is clean, the staff is alright, and the dimsum is good. If I'm in the area again and craving Chinese, I may try their dinner menu. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back however; there are equally good options closer to home.

How NOT to run a business!

DISLIKE Kostas Greek restaurant!!
The owner was so RUDE! She came to our table after I presented an Entertainment coupon, to tell me, rudely, that "you created the problem" (didn't even know there was a problem) when we ordered the specials ($15.95) and presented an Entertainment coupon for a $12 discount. She said she'd have to charge me the regular price for each meal ($18.95). She brought back a new bill with the 2 meals @ $18.95 each. So they made an extra $6 and lost 2 customers for life.
The food was very average. Greasy and swimming in oil. Greek salad + 1 olive each. The chicken was pretty good.
The plastic table covers were greasy. The restaurant really needs a scrubbing.
My adult son and I will never be back and I'll pass my experience with this owner to all my social media friends. As I arrange company parties...I will definitely not bring our business to this restaurant. The owner will never be able to measure how much she has lost be treating a customer like she did. You get - what you give, lady.

I've been going here since I was in a high chair, now that I am old enough to order from the bar I can say with confidence I love everything in here. The food is always good and done properly, if not it is always rectified. I love a restaurant where you can go have a birthday dinner at or come in dressed in sweats and you receive the exact same service. The servers are always seasoned and know their menu, there is just one issue I have with this restaurant... the hostesses!
I have been in on a couple of occasions where I have been insulted by a hostess. One girl looked at though she was on drugs because she was shaking so much, spilling water on sister's lap. Another girl threw down our cutlery- touching the USED end of it! When I said "thank you" to her, she responded with an awkward laugh and a "whatever." I wish they would hire girls that had potential of serving, and training them to BECOME servers. Though, its evident all the serving stay there HAVE to have at least a decade of serving before they can get hired there. I've worked in the food/beverage industry for many years and I found that is the only way you can get good hostessing staff. Maybe if they had some younger servers as well as the seasoned ones they'd grow a larger cliental also?

This is without a doubt the best Phở you can get in the lower mainland, out side of this area I haven't explored. Their broth is not cloudy, it is rich and flavorful. I usually get the rare beef and well done brisket (#13) and there is more than enough meat every time. And I usually end up ordering their pork wontons (#27) which are always fantastic. With your Phở you get a little dipping sauce for the meat which I find only a few Phở places offer, its an excellent touch on their part. Some people may complain about the decor or the cleanliness but I see them running around cleaning tables and have never had a problem with it. These people rock and they deserve every bit of business they get, give them a try and you wont be disappointed!

Second time we went to this restaurant and the second time we have been very disappointed. There will not be a third time. Bread was delivered with nothing on it (should it be lightly coated with olive oil?) and no sauce to dip it in, the Greek salad had no seasoning at all just loaded with olive oil (we ended up dipping our bread into the salad bowl), the rice and potatos had no flavour (could have been Uncle Ben's). The only decent items were the chicken and lamb which were cooked just right. Even when I let the know how disappointed we were, the employee seemed to think it was ok that the meat was cooked properly then he changed the subject. The price of the meals added insult to injury.
This place gets voted as the best Greek restaurant in Langley year after year is a joke as far as we are concerned. I've had better Greek at the mall.

Raw Pizza no cheese?

So we ordered from these guys having just moved to Langley.

We must have been spoiled by awesome pizza at Round House pizza in Burnaby because when we got this and wow. It was awful.

They take this thin crust, frozen prior, you can tell. Then they empty an entire can of pineapples on it probably water and all. Then they slap on about 5 bucks worth of ham. They put so much crap on the pizza, cheap ham, and pineapples that the crust didn't even cook. Burnt on the bottom, and not cooked for the 50% below the toppings.

Oh I forgot about the most important part of the pizza....for most of us anyways. No wait all of us. ON THE PLANET! Cheese, where the hell is the cheese? We looked couldn't find it anywhere. I realize that in this day and age places are trying to save a buck, but putting 1 dollar in cheese across two pizzas, then charging someone 50 dollars?

Come on. Do not order here.

I can't imagine how many people they have ripped off in Langley already. We got suckered, won't happen again. Guess we will have to watch the reviews.

I were introduce by friends and became regular whenever I visit Langley.

You cant say its real Japanese Food but as long as its what I love, who cares ^^

Please keep the sushi boat, I've tried many sushi places in Langley, I used to go to Tokiyo sushi

However, after they change the sushi boat, I came here to maru, and it's great, very fresh with a reasonable price.

With so many other sushi places in Walnut Grove, I'd recommend skipping Waka and going somewhere better. While the food is okay (7/10) the service is atrocious. Last night I called, asked if they were busy (they said no) and ordered a large meal for my husband's birthday celebration, they told me 40 minutes. Having been here before I knew that was highly unlikely so I gave them an hour. I didn't receive my food for over an hour and a half! When I complained and said that they should have warned us about the wait no one at the restaurant seemed to care. I told them we had children at home waiting for dinner and the manager said, "Oh, well it's busy" and walked away. There were maybe four tables occupied in the restaurant at this time. After ordering $200 worth of sushi from them I expected better service and some sort of apology or discount for the huge wait. I'll never go back there again.

The cooks always great you as you come in and as you leave. Every time. Without fail. I read where at least one other person mentioned slow service. I'd agree. Not many staff and on weekend nights and a few other nights when their restaurant is full, they are pretty much past reasonable serving capacity in my opinion. Example would be tonight, a saturday night at 6:30, I figured I'd be smart and call ahead with my order. It was a small, simple order (4 standard rolls, one tempura) and they said 40 minutes before I could pick it up. I must admit, I know of no other Sushii restaurant that takes that long for a simple pickup order. I've eaten in the restaurant and when it's busy, they just cannot keep up. Servers or cooks. But, as long as you know that and prepare for it, I do find the food the best sushi on the North side of the highway in Langley. And their Caterpillar roll is simply wonderful. I like sushi restaurants that give you lots of raw fish when you order sushi or nigiri. These guys always do. So yeah, I'd recommend it and I continue to go there.

Mr. Mike, You've Got Some Work To Do In Langley
By DinerChick of Coquitlam, BC (1 Review)
Submitted Sunday, September 11, 2011 - 12:22pm [Dine in]

I normally dine at the Coquitlam Mr. Mike's which is awesome for all the qualities this website rates. Yesterday I went to the one in Langley:

- The hostess was nice enough, but she was dressed in a see-through skirt made from thin white t-shirt material and was overflowing her top. This lowered the "class" rating of this establishment considerably.

- The food was okay, baked potato was cold and steak was overdone but still edible and tasty. The onion rings were big and very nice. I didn't get the side of mushrooms I ordered. A piece of corn on the cob was the side dish, which is about the easiest thing in the world to cook and not the easiest to eat (in public). Next time pick a side that's a bit more sophisticated and takes a bit more effort to make. The cheesecake bites were really good though.

- The service was ok but a little slow. We had to go to the cash register to pay. Our server was there too but ignored us, opting to clean a table instead. Thanks, bartender, for helping us out.

- All of these things might have been overlooked had the pricetag been more reasonable. I paid $19.00 for my steak dinner. There are other places that offer better quality food, service and ambiance. When I want to pay $19 for a steak again, I'll probably go to The Keg.

For me, Milestones is the go-to place for consistently good food and friendly, efficient service.
Tonight was no different. Our server was attentive and covered all of the bases. Our dinners were fresh, flavorful and visually appealing, which is no small feat considering I ordered meatloaf.

I do find the prices are a little high ($20 for meatloaf is a little steep no matter what), but it's great for birthdays etc. It definitely isn't fine dining, but it's a good choice for a mid-range restaurant. Yum!

We didn't want to labour on Labour Day. Decided to go for a drive so my son could practice driving on his L license. Ended up in Ft. Langley. Haven't been there for a year or so, since the ferry stopped running. Was surprised to so many people but what was more surprising is that some of the restaurants were not open on a beautiful sunny holiday Monday.

The hot and sunny weather heightened our cravings for refreshments and nourishment. We noticed a restaurant, Beatniks, with a big line up so decided to see if we could get in quicker at another establishment. No luck however due to all the restaurants were busy and the food on the menus seemed to be just standard fare. Eventually decided to go and put our name in on the waitlist at Beatniks. Turned out tobe a great choice. During our 20 min or so wait I had a chance to study the menu and to watch what was coming out on the plates from the kitchen. Visual presentations on the plates were captivating and pleasing to the eye. Decided that we probably made the right choice.

Hostess with the mostess seated us at a great table on the patio. Couldn't ask for anything better.
She handled the large crowd with ease.

Started with the usual beer on tap and an order of Poutine and one order of Crab Cakes.

Poutine was excellent. One of the best I've tasted. The wine ingredient made the gravy rich and flavourful.
All poutines should be made this way.

Crab Cakes were good but I believe they coul have used a little more seasoning.

For mains we had the Artisian Salad, The Beatnik Wrap and a burger.

The presentation of the salad was very pleasing to one's eye. The varied ingredients made the salad taste just right. To my knowledge I haven't had figs in a salad before.

The Wrap was tasty and not too big. The mango chutney did the trick in the tast dept.

Can't comment on the burger due to my son ate it before I could critque it.

An all in all good experience. Cost with tip about $112.

Went for lunch and the restaurant had maybe 6 other tables full. All of the staff were friendly and made every effort to make us feel welcome and looked after. I thought the way the dining room was decorated was great: old photos of Mexican characters and festive decorations everywhere was very bright and fun.

The food took a little bit longer than I expected, but it had a nice fresh flavor and the portion sizes were reasonable for the price (just under $10 per person for food). The food had a very "homemade" feel to it, a welcome change from the fast food stuff that you get from the big chains.
Look forward to going back soon.

The food here is incredible. They prepare all my favorite Japanese classics with unparalleled quality. My many visits there have covered the teriyaki and tempura rolls and dishes, which were all done perfectly and exactly as you'd expect them. Their cali rolls - my favorite - can be ordered with real crab, which I think is a given. The rolls are not overflowing with real crab meat, as you are paying an incredibly low price for them. The sushi rice is expertly prepared with a mild and delicate flavor, and perfectly soft texture that doesn't crumble or mush. The special rolls have ranged from decent to amazing, due to the frank reality that it is ethnic food and you must be prepared to differ in taste. I recommend the crunchy roll; it's spicy but you can order the sauce on the side.

I'm normally blind to value, and oriented entirely on the quality and expertise of food, but it's impossible to ignore the amazing deals offered at this restaurant. Their rolls are, in my opinion, neck and neck with their counterparts prepared at five star restaurants. For a third or less of the price, it was a no-brainer to add this place to my regular list of visits.

There's obviously not an unlimited budget on the place, but it has a very casual and homey feel. The service is similar in nature; they're there to do everything you'd expect them to do at a casual restaurant, and they really do service with a smile. I find myself smiling constantly in response to the joyful service offered by the woman who evidently co-owns the place. As a regular, I really do feel at home there.

I don't hesitate to recommend this to everyone, as the best sushi place I've ever dined.
