Their cheese sticks are amazing a must have. They deliver when they say there going too. and the food is fresh and tasty. I also find for what you get their very afordable, and one of the cheaper places to get pizza from they always have some kind of deal on. So we always get our moneys worth.

Thier wonton soup is the best I've ever had and they come to your table and serve you. Which is a nice touch. The food is great. I've now tried many of the items on the menu and find I like most. Thier authentic this isn't american chinese food. This is actual chinese food which in Langley is amazing.

I liked the food, but was shocked by how much everything cost and on some dishes how little you got. Parking was a nightmare. Service was fair the washrooms were clean but for the price I could have gone to a really nice restraunt. We wont be going back. Which is a shame because authentic food in langley is nice.

I venture into Fort Langley quite often, and when I do I almost always make time to eat here. The location is great, and they have an amazing front patio, perfect for people watching! The food and service are always top notch, and it has always been that way for me and trust me,I have been there alot! They have alot of diverse dishes to offer, but might I recommend the Sole Almondine, its my personal favourite. I love this place, and recommend everyone go at least once. Especially now that the weather is getting warmer and with summer right around the corner, it will be the place to be in Fort Langely by far! Don't miss out!

Very disappointing

My daughter and I went to Kalma restaurant for lunch today as we had a $6.00 value coupon and had heard good things about the place.
We arrived at 11:40am and were sat by the window which was great. We ordered within minutes of our arrival. For her: a breakfast composed of eggs sunny side up and sausages with white toast. For me the soup of the day with a tossed salad.
Our coffees were served at once which was nice, but we had to wait 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Yet we saw customers coming after us and they got served within a reasonable time with big plates of food.
We asked for water, two glasses arrived 10 minutes later, we did not touch them.
The ambiance was nice, lots of customers arrived for lunch.
Our food arrived but it was not what we expected. My daughter's plate the eggs were almost raw, the yolk appeared uncooked and the whites were clear and runny, the sausage was cold and when she cut it, it appeared raw, being pregnant she did not want to take any chance and ate only the toasts, she got up to tell the server, as no one came to inquire if the food was to our taste and was told that they could re-make the plate if she wishes, but we were not willing to wait another 45 minutes
My food was not much better, while the salad was fine, the soup consist of plain chicken broth and boiled onions with a couple of carrot slices. I left it after trying a few spoons of it as it lacked in taste.
The server was not particularly friendly or caring, she did not know what the soup of the day was and did not know either if hash-browns came with the plate of eggs.
At the cash register we found out that we had to pay $18.84 in spite of the poor food and the coupon. My plate was listed at $7.59 and hers at $8.99. The server/cashier finally took off $3.00 as a favor from the total but as a result refused to honor the coupon.
We paid and left but we felt terribly disappointed from the experience and we will never go back there.

Had to try An Indian Affair this past weekend - the craving hit and the restaurant was new and intriguing. From the first dish to the last we were blown away. Tawa mushrooms, Kadai Subz, Peas Pulao, Peshwari Naan and Garlic/Basil Naan...first rate! The raita was fresh, cooling and just the right spices. Papadums to start was a nice touch, crisp, not greasy in the least, they only whet our appetite....so when dinner came (see above), the conversation almost stopped. We were delighted!
An Indian Affair has a nice, if small wine list. Though I think it's enough. Nicely selected. Domestic and Indian Beers, Chai, Ras Malai, an assortment of sodas and a nice looking Mango Lemonade on their beverage list. If you can manage it, the Kheer (rice pudding) is divine! A small portion - which is just right after a meal. Refreshing and light.
I can't wait to go back and try the Samosa's, the kachumber salad, a biryani and some of the other breads Gary offers on his menu, amongst other dishes; I'm guessing I'll become a regular here.
You'll look hard to find nicer people than Gary and his wife Anu...they're genuine and their love of people and feeding them well shines through in all aspects of this restaurant. So glad we came in here...

Last night ,I just happened to go with a couple of friends and check out this new place on Willowbrook Drive and I HAD TO write a review about this place.I have eaten indian food on several occaisons before but this place totaly was an experience to write home about!!! Not only was the food to die for ,but the service was outstanding! The server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and got us to try some new stuff. For starters, we ordered the kebab affair and Tandoori Halibut. Both appetisers were very delectable and flavourful.
Im a big seafood fan and I must admit that though I've tried fish at other indian restaurants, the Halibut here was something else! AMAZING!!For main course,we ordered the baby eggplant dish{YUM YUM} with Chicken Chettinad {WOW}and Anaari Gosht.ALL DISHES were awesome. The most fabulous thing was the amazing new flavours, unlike the routine fare offered by most other indian restaurants. Each dish had a new flavour ...an absolute treat for the palate! Im going to be eating here a LOT!!!!

There is a romantic feel from the moment you walk in, with strings of little lights and a Tuscan decor. Absolutely outstanding service, offered a wine tasting as soon as you sit down, and unlimited bread sticks/soup/salad with every entree!

A couple of times we have ordered the trio appetizer platter, which we have stopped getting because nearly all of the options are deep fried and come out a little dry. The ziti four-cheese pasta is delicious! Italian sodas are a nice treat to have in lieu of dessert. Also very nice to see the managers walking around and interacting with the tables. They charm us every time. I am sure we will be back many more times.

I have walked by this unassuming little diner dozens of times. A recent craving for a BLT took me inside. The menu was hanging on the window and the value alone looked phenomenal - at least1/3 less in price than a larger local resto. Inside was big, clean with well spaced tables and friendly employees. And obviously happy customers - with many an empty plate to be seen. The servers were calling some diners by name so apparently they have a good 'regular' base.
Back to the BLT...I chose it on white with fries and gravy. The white wasn't some pathetic little flimsy cheap-o bread, it was dense, perfectly toasted and held together the insides nicely (I've had sandwiches fall apart elsewhere on bargain bread). The fries were hot (likely not hand-cut, but tasty and crisp nonetheless!) and the gravy salty, but yummy. There could have been a little more bacon on it, but for $5.25 (a little extra for the gravy) i thought it very fair. It filled my craving beautifully (i'm not much of a meateater, so when i DO crave it - usually in bacon form - i don't want to go away disappointed. I went away happy, my wallet not so much lighter. I plan to go back for breakfast to see if it lives up to my first visit.

Fort Langley's Gem

I recently moved from Kitsilano to Fort Langley and have since made it my goal to try each of the restaurants in town. Beatniks Bistro is by far my favorite spot. The food is absolutely incredible - last week I had their featured pan seared fresh Halibut with a home made mango salsa - and let me tell you, it's a wonderful treat to be able to eat healthy and delicious food when dining out. I can tell that the chefs at Beatniks take pride in their work and to me, that is the mark of an up and coming restaurant. Look out Fort Langley!

As for the service and the ambiance, I have nothing but positive feedback. Our server, Stefani, was not only attentive and efficient, but she genuinely seemed to care about getting to know us by talking to us all about our recent move and her favorite things about the area. And to me, it is the incredible food and the engaging service that sets Beatniks apart from the other local restaurants.

Of course I could try to find areas for improvement, but that is a reality in any business. All I would say is that Beatniks is a "must try." They have something for everyone - affordable lunches, friendly service, a quaint family story, cocktails, wine, espresso, hand crafted desserts. And for me, the fresh food and service has made my transition into Fort Langley much smoother and I'm definitely looking forward to their patio season.

After the last review I read this is a justified post! My and my husband had the EXACT same experience - 1 hour wait, stone cold food. Was not going to write about it, as I know how critical reviews can be towards restaurants, but I worked as a GM for quite a few years - could tell the waitresses were trying their best to accomadate, running around like crazy, and when I asked to speak to the GM, our (clearly frustrated) waitress mentioned "they don't really have a manager". Haha, what a joke! How can you run a business like this?

The shocking thing is me and my husband came in September and had an amazing experience. It really was a 180. Our server, a blonde girl name Chantel, was friendly and professional. The chef, Jeffy, gave us some samples of the upcoming features on the menu, and mentioned how everythign was sourced locally and made in house. For all the earls and cactus's out there this felt fresh.

So now it seems there is no chef and no manager there. How very sad to see such potential be flushed downt he toilet! Best of luck in the future.

S.V.

The staff are the greatest, the food is good, the ambience of the pub is the nicest that I've been in. I don't usually like pubs but I feel comfortable even going in by myself. This is OUR pub and absolutely love the friends we've met there. The service is very good and recommend it to other people. They have meat draws and dollar draws that we've won many times. I first learned of the NY Grill through a networking group that uses their private room in the rear of the restaurant. I was so impressed with not only the generous portions of excellent food, but the service as well. As a former restaurant owner, I know what it takes to hire, train and keep great staff, and the owners here must have that knack, as the staff are friendly, knowledgable and attentive. I have become quite the regular at the NY Grill, a compiement to them as there are a lot of restaurants to choose from in the Langley area.

The worst tasting chicken ever. They have ruin KFC for good now. It has been many years now
By irebel of langley bc (3 Reviews)
Submitted Sunday, April 1, 2012 - 3:49pm [Take-out]

The worst made chicken ever. Once a year I have to try it, just in case they decided to go back to the original recipe and in the last 6 years it has been the same thing time after time. They over cook it slowly so it gets all greasy and over cooked which makes it inedible chicken. Once in a blue moon when it is not too greasy then it is so dry it's like eat cardboard. A couple of years ago I bought 2 dinners that were inedible and I called and they would not return my money but would replace the dinners. I called head office hoping they would maybe inquire about the quality going down hill but they were not interested. The people here really don't have a clue how to cook it. About 4 months ago I tied it once again. This time was a bit better but not much. Where's the batter on the chicken? and why does it always have to taste like dirty oil? I make far better chicken at home. It just too bad because I really really like KFC the way it use to be. Seriously I don't know how they stay in business. I don't walk I run away from KFC!!

I Love their pork ribs. Sorry I have not tried the beef ones but they looked real good from a distance:) Yes they are a little pricey but so are good spareribs by the pound. Believe me you will not be saying where's meat. It is so Delicious. I don't know how other people can eat a dessert after eat one one these rib meals... Oh one thing they asked me what I wanted with the meal and one of the choices were beans. I was thinking green beans so I ordered the beans. Well they turned out to be chili beans :) and not very good ones at that. Live and Learn. Most definitely the best place for ribs!! mm.... mm.... Just talking about it... I think we'll go there for dinner tonight :)

Love this restaurant. We take the kids, go with large groups, or come here on date nights. The food is always great. The sushi is delish, and I think the prices are awesome because you get so much food! Come hungry and dont judge the restaurant by the outer appearance. And the people that said it was bad food probably dont like tepan grill style restaurants because I have eaten at allot of them and this one is very good.

We went here when a large group of about 30 people had just sat down. We must have waited 45 minutes for our food which was pretty bad and they said it was because they were so busy. Our food was not even that great, one dish slightly undercooked, and the quesadilla with chicken is gross with cooked avocado in it. We were also seated right by the place where they bang dishes and cutlery so it was beyond loud and annoying. Very dissapointing.
