Me and my boyfriend tried a few restuarants before but this was by far the best. The ceasar salad was just great. We ordered a banana flambe and were amazed when they brought out a cart and cooked it in front of our eyes, the service was just incredible. I am going to tell everyone I know about this place.

Impressed, high quality, fresh, exciting menu, a bit pricey but worth it, portions are larger .......... its not your average sushi place. The place is always busy(because its so good!), so the service can be a bit slow at times; if I wanted fast food ide take my kids to macdonalds for cheesburgers.

Wanted to like this deli but raw bacon? come on......

Submitted Thursday, July 5, 2012 - 6:51pm [Dine in]

I work in Langley and I am always on the lookout for a good place to eat. I found this small deli recently, my first experience there was just fine, a simple beef dip sandwich, nothing weird there.

However, my second visit I ordered a turkey club. The turkey club comes on a cheese bun and is packed full of meat. Here is the weird part: Instead of crispy bacon as one would expect on a club, there were two large pieces of UNCOOKED BACON. I brought my sandwich back and asked about the mistake. The lady behind the counter replied "It's cooked, I cook it before I cut it, the bacon just looks raw, don't worry, you won't get sick."

When one sees RAW WHITE FAT on bacon, one can tell it hasn't been cooked. Any amount of heat will start to render the fat out of bacon, there was clearly still completely unrendered WHITE FAT on the two thick slices of bacon.

No solution or substitution was offered by the staff other than 'I should eat the sandwich'. I can tell you I left the sandwich on top of a nearby garbage can and went back to work hungry. Two thumbs down. I guess Ill have to make the farther trip to the much better Deli nearby on the Langley bypass

If I could give this place 1 star across the board on dinehere I would.

We catered - chicken, salads - caesar, pasta and greek - bread and salsa. It was tasty, plentiful and affordable. My niece picked up the food. It certainly made it easy for us to organize the party. If there was any criticism it's that some of the chicken breast meat was a little dry and perhaps the pieces could have been cut smaller (I'm the only one who seemed to think the latter was necessary - everyone else was chowing down. I'd recommend doing so again.

Went here with the better half and some of the coworkers. My first time experience was not so good. The food was expensive for what you got and the service was a hit and miss. This second time around fare better. The service was good at first but as the night went and as it gotten busier you hardly saw your server. I ordered the Steak sandwich 8oz and it was pretty good. It came blue rare the way I liked it and I had potato soup as the side. It did not look that big but it was satisfying. My better half ordered the Turkey Club sandwich and she mentioned that it was good as well. My coworkers ordered the banger and mash, stew and meat pies (traditional pub fare) and it look tasty but there did not seem very much for the price you pay. I thought the $14 for a steak sandwich and the trimmings was a bit high. Same goes for the Turkey sandwich. It was not overly loud and we had a great time. Would return when we are in the neighborhood.

I live across the parking lot from this location and I eat there 2-3 times a week. I have for the last 8 months consistently enjoyed the great service, outstanding food and excellent dining space here. Especially on the weekend when I'm home more. I have always enjoyed the weekend service as much as the weekdays so I'm not sure if I agree with the last review. I also know that for as long as I have eaten there Saturday and Sunday they don't open till 11:30. I have made many requests for the girls to change the channel on the big screen TV as well as shown up at 11:10 and been let in and served early. They have always accomodated me, but maybe thats just because I'm a smoker too.

I like their Pho, specially on rainy or snowy days, nothing is better than a bowl of hot pho! This restaurant is in a waking distance from where I live so we go here quite often! Liked their other dishes as well, great warm service by the owners. Their spring rolls are yum-o as well with the dip in sauce.... makes me hungry now.

Great restaurant for the family especially the kids
By Huge of Surrey (139 Reviews)
Submitted Sunday, June 17, 2012 - 10:28am [Dine in]

Went here with another family after an afternoon of indoor play center for the kids. My better half order the California Chicken burger with fries and she always loves this burger. I ordered the Prime Rib Dip with French Onion Soup for my side. It tasted pretty good but since I have a large appetite I wished I had more. So I had to dine on some of my better half's bottomless french fries. The kids shared a mac and cheese meal with apple slice and chocolate milk. The kitchen was nice enough to have prepare two separate bowls which had fresh cheese melted on top. They also had two sets of apple slices and chocolate milk for the kids. They gave the kids crayons and paper to draw on and was nice enough to give them balloons as the little ones adore balloons. I really appreciate that the staff are tune with their guest as they topped up my freckle lemonade when it was low and refilled the fries when asked. This is a great restaurant for the family especially if you have kids. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This is definitely one of our favourite places to eat. Friendly atmosphere, clean, great portions and the food is on our table in about 10 mins. The house special noodle soup is fantastic and contains lots of good quality meat. Where else can 5 people dine for 40 bucks? We always leave feeling satisfied and are treated by the staff like friends. They even gave my daughter a little glass bracelet one time and always make a fuss over my 3 year old boy. Someone else wrote a bad review regarding cleanliness of the restaurant...... Sorry buddy, we have been there many times and the place and washrooms are spotless. We drive from surrey to eat at Langley Vietnamese cuisine. I highly recommend this wonderful eatery!

I hadn't been to this restaurant in years and last minute decided to take our Mom for her birthday. It was a Thursday night and not busy - we wondered why.
I hope it is not from a few bad reviews on websites. This place is really very nice and hands down better than all the busy chains up in the Grove or the bypass. Service was excellent.
We ordered the schnitzel, rack of lamb, & shortribs. All the meals were hot, well presented, and good size. No skimping here! The meat was tender the taste excellent - we were very impressed especially considering the value.
Definately coming back - Friday night is Prime Rib night for $19.99 8oz!

Impressive

Submitted Friday, June 15, 2012 - 8:05pm [Dine in]

I have heard good things about the NY Grill, but found it hard to believe that it could be so inexpensive, filling, and still taste good. But it was, and it did.
We got the 10 oz steaks $15.95 plus $1.00 each for (a very tasty) ceasar salad. There is obviously new kitchen staff, or they've learned, because the potatoe had favour and was cooked well, and the rice pilaf was cooked and very tasty.
I was at the keg a couple of times over the last year, and to be honest, I walked out of here feeling better served, and with much greater value, then I ever recall feeling at the keg.
We were in early, and in a rush to be somewhere else, so it was quiet and we didn't stay to take in the ambience, but we will DEFINATELY be back.
A great value, oh and the prawn appetizer came with two extra which was a very pleasant error or treat.
$45 for dinner and an appy for 2, can't be beat!

Pink Burger Meat is Not Strictly An Item of Preference in Canada "Sir".
By The Good Stuff of Langley (2 Reviews)
Submitted Friday, June 15, 2012 - 7:25pm [Dine in]

My wife and I hit Red Robin for dinner a few nights ago, for some burgers and milkshakes, because we heard they did good burgers and shakes. Fair enough. I'm not gonna whine about getting a steak that's not cooked to perfection from a place like this, that's why we came for burgers:) They were pink.
When i called our server over to let him know our burgers were pink, i was told, as if our server was reading it off a sheet in thin air, that the burgers had most definitely been cooked to the required temperature regulation standard set by health Canada, and my complaint was simply a matter of preference and not because pink burgers are gross.
Burger is not steak, i love a bloody steak. I do not love a bloody burger. In The States, I'm ok with ordering a well cooked burger. That how they roll. In Langley however, I consider pink burger undercooked. Being told that my pink burger is not undercooked, and that sending it back is just being ignorant of the "safety" of the pink meat, does not help your case.
We got our burgers back, safely nuked to oblivion, with an air of disdain.
The Milkshakes were good, i suppose......Perhaps they were having an off night, nowhere is perfect after all, but the way it all played out seemed like this level of dissatisfaction happened enough to be routine. Wouldn't recommend based on our limited experience here.

Great place, Dont listen to the Haters!

Submitted Thursday, June 14, 2012 - 10:15pm [Dine in]

Ive been eating at Choo Choos for 5-6 years now, at a pretty regular clip, and they deserve better press than they get!
Im 29, not square, and don't mind that there are some old people eating here. ITS LANGLEY. There are old people here:) There is no other place like Choo Choo's in Langley! There are far more family dinners and couples there than anything. There are cool things to look at in every direction, and the food is tasty and feel good, they change their beer up all the time with awesome crafty stuff!
If you're after a delicately braised fillet Mignon with lobster and organic fiddle heads in lemon sauce for 80 bucks, this isn't your place. If you want something that is going to taste delicious 95% of the time, and make you rub your belly and smile as you waddle to the car, Choo Choo's will do you right:)
Ive read some reviews here, and figured some of these folks must be those absolute delights that bring their screaming kids in to restaurants and wonder why other people don't dig the noise after 45 minutes solid with no discipline, or folks that show up after putting dinner off for too long so their just a widdle bit gwumpy :(
Not worth tipping? Absolutely horrible? Im not gonna lie and say everything has been absolutely perfect every time, but c'mon, apparently we've been eating at very different places the last 6 years. Dont listen to the haters, me and mine love this place, and you should give it a try:)

Tried this place after driving by and seeing their terrific sign go up recently.
I love shawarmas and have been trying to find a really good one here in Canada since my time spent living in the Middle East. This place is immediately surprising upon entering in the fact that it looks like it is straight out of Western Europe. Very modern and clean. Their food is made fresh daily and it shows. Falafels here are as they should be, crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth. I can honestly say I have never eaten a better shawarma (and I have tried many of the places here locally and in Vancouver). Their chicken is incredible, and they don't drown it in sauce. I can't remember the last time I received 4-star sit-down service in a quick-serve fast-food restaurant, if ever. Their staff here are wonderful and very well trained in customer service. I have been back weekly to sample their interesting vegan options as well. Best part might be that I get change from a $10 bill with a drink and dessert added and their portions are huge. Have found my new favourite local restaurant! Yum. Thank-you Holy Falafel!
