This restaurant has the worst food I tried in restaurants. Unless you order big sizes, you basically get nothing more than pure rice. If you want some taste, you have to order big size, the small size not only comes with small portion (which is expected), but also virtually no veg or meat but only rice (totally unexpected.)
This place is awful.
It is also very pricey. No service, this is essentially more like a fast food place.
So I lied. I said I wouldn't be back for a while. However, I did return. So their ratio for getting my order wrong was 4 out of 6 times. Then I went a 7th time, not for myself but to pick up something for my wife/daughter. Well... instead of any service at all, I got a rather confrontational franchisee. Soon as I walk up to the counter he says that they were going to close early because of the snow. I ask if they are still open then? He says yes they are. So I order butter chicken, and a kids teriyaki chicken. He says it will be 20 minutes, and then gives me the same sob story about how its just him and one other person. Usually they have seven people on Sunday evenings. I don't say anything, but I own a business nearby, and all seven of my staff showed up on time for their shifts without any issues. If you can't handle your restaurant without complaining to your customers, just shut it down! We don't come so that we can hear your whining! So I wait the '20 minutes' and in the meantime, someone else causes a ruckus cause hes been waiting 40 minutes but someone who ordered after him got served first. So that was rather tense, but again, the owner chose to be more confrontational than conciliatory. Finally I got my order at the 42 minute mark. There was no offer to comp it, or anything. For sure, I will not be back now. Some people shouldn't be in an owner/spokesperson type position if they can't handle their restaurant/staff/anger issues.
We went to this restaurant on our friends recommendation...they raved about the food here....which makes me question their taste, lol! We had the crispy honey chicken and the pad thai...I would classify both as food court level quality....sort of overcooked, not a lot of flavour. Maybe the cook was having an off day? I'd give it another try but would go in without any expectations.
We ordered two dinners for take-out. Since this was our first time, we decided to go with the menu/restaurant recommendation. There are items on the menu listed as #1s and according to the server those are the most popular items.
We had:
Singapore cashew with pork and noodles
Butter chicken
The noodle dish was extremely salty with less than 10 pieces of thinly cut vegetables. I asked to have no carrots and onions in the stir fry but was informed by the server that the vegetables were pre-mixed and I could just pick them out. The cashews were soggy and the pork tasted like it was pre-marinated in lots of salt and was previously frozen.
The butter chicken came with rice and naan bread. The sauce was very salty and powdery. The rice underneath the butter chicken was both undercooked and overcooked. Some rice was soggy and watery and some rice was crusty and hard in the center. I did not realize rice can be both overcooked and undercooked at the same time. The chicken tasted like imitated chicken and had a rubbery texture and again...very salty.
I think this will be our first and last time having food from here.
Cold Food, wrong order, horrible customer service, slow prep and miserly sized portions with sky high prices for what you get.
Double check your order before you leave the restaurant, otherwise your out of luck and they really don't care.
Egg rolls are greasy and mushy, pork is just breading and grissel, sauces are either cold and lumpy or just in-edible.
Steer clear of the WOKBOX.
We've called ahead & ordered takeout from the Wok Box on 2-3 Friday nights since they opened a few months ago. We enjoy having this place close to home; great food & it is different from the usual pizza take-out. I haven't looked at the nutritional information, so I don't want to claim that it is "healthy", but is sure feels like good, real food rather than the usual take-out. Not a fine dining restaurant, and not necessarily authentic Asian... but a great-I'm too- tired-to-cook & I-want-something for dinner with a-DVD- type restaurant.
We enjoyed the beef & brocolli which we have ordered a couple of times. Wasn't too impressed with the lemon chicken - too deep fried. We haven't yet "eaten in", but I've seen it when I've gone to pick up food - nice ambience. Service so far has been good & the take-out window is a great idea!
