I used to order with them at least twice monthly, but feel that 3 poor quality meals in a row is enough to suspect the quality isn't going to be consistent any time soon. Tonight, my dish to rant about was the deep fried chicken balls. God knows I don't eat a lot of greasy food, but had a CRAVING. you know. They came semi warm, which would have sufficed had they been at all, well edible. Hard as rocks, I mean drop them from 40 feet and they wouldn't crack kind of hard. Hammering them open with my fork, I finally made my way inside and found dried up, stringy chicken that probably started as stewing fowl. I've seen better meat in a compost bucket. Brookswood is seriously lacking in the quality Chinese food department, and I've just eliminated yet another source for it. Best advice.. don't even bother.
Toki's is one of the few places in Brookswood to get chinese food, which is a shame because it's not very good.
The building looks flithy, and is in a small lot near the Rider's Pub. The food is greasy, and you can tell most everything has been deep-fried to the point where even it's huge salt content couldn't give it flavour.
The food isn't badly priced, but considering just how terrible it is it makes it seem overpriced.
The one saving grace is the friendly, effiecent staff, who aren't without trying.
Overall, unless it's the middle of the night, nowhere else is open and you're absolutely starving for some chinese food, I wouldn't bother, and I would make the extra trip to go somewhere else in Langley, because Toki's is really the bottom of the barrel.
