You think by this day and age, that a company that boasts about its burgers, would have some sort of clue making them.
I work two jobs, so its hard to find time to dine out. So tonight my 16 year old son decided to buy dinner for our family. I was at work (what else is new) but I'm only 6 minutes from our local Red Robin.
Well I might as well been on the Moon. My son dropped off dinner at the shop for me. Opening it right away, I noticed two things right away. One, how hot everything wasn't and how hard as rock and dry the chicken in the sandwich was. I have to also add that the oil that they used to demolish this chicken filet had turned and tasted a little rancid. The best part was the very large weggie fries that were not properly cooked and all the small broken glass fragment like tiny fries (like the end of a bag) stuffed all over inside the box and burger, as like it was some kind of mob hit tossed in the box.
Now the shop I work for used to order from them, now I know why they don't anymore. I told my wife that if I ever get the urge to have something from Red Robin, to kick me in the head. I will gladly embrace our local hospital food over this......manufactured disappointment.
Went here with another family after an afternoon of indoor play center for the kids. My better half order the California Chicken burger with fries and she always loves this burger. I ordered the Prime Rib Dip with French Onion Soup for my side. It tasted pretty good but since I have a large appetite I wished I had more. So I had to dine on some of my better half's bottomless french fries. The kids shared a mac and cheese meal with apple slice and chocolate milk. The kitchen was nice enough to have prepare two separate bowls which had fresh cheese melted on top. They also had two sets of apple slices and chocolate milk for the kids. They gave the kids crayons and paper to draw on and was nice enough to give them balloons as the little ones adore balloons. I really appreciate that the staff are tune with their guest as they topped up my freckle lemonade when it was low and refilled the fries when asked. This is a great restaurant for the family especially if you have kids. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We visited Red Robin quite sometime ago an had one of the oddest dining experiences ever, we were made to wait roughly fifteen minutes in the lobby while the restaurant was virtually empty, the service was awkward and the food very average. Our latest Red Robin experience was substantially better! Our last two visits to the restaunt we were quickly seated, service was attentive and friendly and the burgers were great! My fiance really enjoyed th A-1 Peppercorn Burger. I ordered the Bruschetta Chicken Burger (sub a veggie burger patty for the Chicken as I'm a vegetarian) and it was awesome, loved the pesto aioli and provelone, the balsamic cream was such a delicious addition, served on grilled cibatta, it was an excellent burger! Fries were hot, and the Freckled lemonade was great! We're not huge "chain restaurant" fans but overall we definetly think Red Robin when looking for a good burger and decent ambiance!
The food is OK. However, the service is terribly slow. They took a hour and 15 minutes to bring our main courses. Worst of all, it took them an hour to tell me that they were out of the main that I ordered. It is just a burger guys. One hour of watching TV in an empty fast food restauarnt.
Went here with some friends a few days ago and Red Robin hasn't really changed too much. Upon our arrival we could see the hordes of families dining with their kids, yes it is a family restaurant but some parents need to control their kids. The wait to get a table was roughly 10 minutes which wasn't too bad of a wait at all. The table we got was a tight fit as there were four of us put into a booth made for two people, the bar would have been a better option by far. The leftover food on the floor around the place needed some urgent attention.
When we sat down our server was Kelly, she was a very cheerful, bright, and pleasant server but was forgetful at times. Our drink orders were a margarita, two Dr. Peppers, and one rum and Coke in which everything arrived but usually when you order a soft drink you get ice in it as ours did not have any ice at all. Dr. Pepper could have used a pick me up as it was very flat and warm. No refills the entire night for the soft drinks but the waitress neglected the soft drink refills and the "bottomless" fries that were supposed to come with the meal. She did ask my one friend if he wanted another rum and Coke but not my girlfriend and I. Kelly, my dear, lose the cutesy bit and focus on remembering your orders!!!!
The food how ever was excellent as there were not real complaints, I will say that Red Robin is very consistent with their food and have never had any issues regarding it. The dessert could have been prepared a little bit better seeing that we got the Mountain High Mud Pie and the size came short of being a clump of dirt that little Johnny scooped out of the ground when he was playing construction. Last time we ordered it we needed four people to finish it, this time around it was just one, sigh!!!
The bad part like any family establishment was it was everyone's birthday that night, five to be exact and we even got to be a part of Kevin's 12th birthday as his table was beside ours and the Red Robin serving staff surrounded his table as well as ours. Having the birthday experience embalming you during your meal is very overwhelming as it tends to be annoying after hearing "attention everyone it's ______ birthday"
Red Robin left me red in the face with the forgetful service, endless birthday singing, and a booth that was like a pair of pants eight sizes too small. If Red Robin was in a bird cage someone would definatly have to clean up the mess at the bottom of this one.
We attended the Langley Red Robin with a party of eleven on a Saturday noon time. It has been a very long time since I have eaten there. Now I remember why. I will not review everyone's meal selection but relate my experience. I initially ordered a pasta dish stating I do not like al dente pasta and asked if they would overcook it for me. The waitress told me that could not be done as all pasta comes to the restaurant already cooked. Huh? I then ordered a prime rib beef dip. Very disappointing. It looked and tasted like prepackaged, precooked, and pre portioned packages that were simply reheated. The dip came in a very small bowl and the fries were not that good at all. I doubt if there was a half of a potato worth of wedges upright in a bowl. My wife ordered the grilled ham and cheese saying it tasted greasy and must have been passed over the grill from a great height. Credit where credit is due and our wait staff were on top of things although I am wrestling with the idea of precooked pasta being used. I won't blame them for the food quality or portions. I walked by the entrance doors two or three times, chasing my grandson trying to teach him that it is not OK to run around in a restaurant. I observed large crowds of people waiting in the lobby and on the outdoor entrance patio, yet there were a lot of empty tables and booths. The whole concept made me think it was a place to graze, get in-get out and food was secondary to them. One last thought. I understand that noisy restaurants are the current trend and they lived up to that. Hard to have a conversation with anyone not sitting right next to you. I guess it will be a long time before I go back again.
My wife and I hit Red Robin for dinner a few nights ago, for some burgers and milkshakes, because we heard they did good burgers and shakes. Fair enough. I'm not gonna whine about getting a steak that's not cooked to perfection from a place like this, that's why we came for burgers:) They were pink.
When i called our server over to let him know our burgers were pink, i was told, as if our server was reading it off a sheet in thin air, that the burgers had most definitely been cooked to the required temperature regulation standard set by health Canada, and my complaint was simply a matter of preference and not because pink burgers are gross.
Burger is not steak, i love a bloody steak. I do not love a bloody burger. In The States, I'm ok with ordering a well cooked burger. That how they roll. In Langley however, I consider pink burger undercooked. Being told that my pink burger is not undercooked, and that sending it back is just being ignorant of the "safety" of the pink meat, does not help your case.
We got our burgers back, safely nuked to oblivion, with an air of disdain.
The Milkshakes were good, i suppose......Perhaps they were having an off night, nowhere is perfect after all, but the way it all played out seemed like this level of dissatisfaction happened enough to be routine. Wouldn't recommend based on our limited experience here.
We were three and went last week for the first time to Red Robin in Langley. My wife ordered a Lam-burger with some fries and salad. The burger didn't taste right, and she told about it when waitress asked her about the food. Oh sorry, was the waitress reply.
Anyways, the problem started four hours later when she started to vomiting and all other problems. so she ended up in hospital and she is still in hospital.
I reported to the Food and safety BC, but I am not sure if they really do anything.
Service, menu offerings, and food quality seem to have gone downhill in the years since we started coming here. The menu has been scaled back and the last two times we were unable to get the mozzarella sticks - such a shame as they were delicious.
I really just wanted to say don't go in with high expectations and you won't be disappointed. OH - IMPORTANT - the fries are "bottomless" but you have to order them in advance. The server does not submit the order for 5 minutes after you request them (probably a portion control thing) so as soon as your food arrives, ask for more fries. You may get them when you're finished your meal.
Gotta say I went and booked a dinner here as a casual dine in and sorry to say I was disappointed on several accounts, not just one...
the very first issue was friends had arrived & three waitresses could not figure out if there were reservations are not? I called in advance, 3 days ago and at least in the early day of the same booking to ensure things would go smoothly. I was not too impressed there.
When we came in, also there was an arrangement for the tv there to be on the hockey channel, it was not done till it was several minutes into the first period, we had to ask THREE times to get the channel changed.
she then mistook the guest for the host. refills were not done in a timely fashion.
I'm sorry if I sound harsh in rating this place, but this is the first time I have been there. Standard would be, organization and not focusing too much on personal conversation with one of my guests, but to perform the job professionally and interact with ALL GUESTS in regards to orders, extra utensils, or refills...or at least have 2 waitresses for our table if it was needed.
I ordered the lamb burger, meat was over cooked, burnt charred. I was too hungry at this point to care to bother, I had to tear the bits off. she (waitress) seem to think that was 'ok' and left... when she comes back, again she only talks to the ONE guest at our table, it made it very VERY awkward.
the onion rings were too hard for my tastes to digest. I had to take a digestive enzyme afterwards but still got food poisoning. I'm not surprised since the whole service was less than passable in my standards.
the funny thing was we had bought in a cake for a birthday dinner, we appreciated the song and the icecream, but they all seemed to have forgotten about our cake that we had bought in, until we reminded them. what were they doing back there? then I asked where the cover was for the cake, they threw it away...lol. at this point, I know I'm not coming back cause this was enough to piss anyone off-this all happened in one night, my first time being there.
so then waitress did apologize then, but the plates were wet.
I came home having food sickness, not sure with what the other guests had to endure.
I Was very and am very disappointed. I'm not returning here & am completely scared off by lack of attentiveness. um..the only good thing maybe was bringing my bill to pay , only that was done on time. *rolls eyes*
Who doesn't love a good burger? Red Robins is just the place to go for this. I have eaten at a few Red Robins and the food at the Langley location is pretty much the same as the others. I did find the burger to be a little pinky and I had a bit of indigestion afterwards, but nothing unusual. The only gripe I had was with the atmosphere.. the lighting was wayyyy bright, the restaurant, although clean feeling, felt very sterile. It was not a comfortable atmosphere to just relax (as opposed to every other Red Robins that I have been to). But if you need your burger fix, and wouldn't mind a freckled lemonade, this place will set you straight.
I used to love this restaurant, but it seems to have gone downhill - or maybe it is just this location? My husband and I went for lunch and it took a few minutes to be seated, even though the restaurant was pretty well empty. The menu seems to have been scaled back - it seems like they used to have much more selection. I ordered Sprite and my husband ordered Coke - both were completely flat. We both ordered burgers. My husband's burger was cold, and mine were lukewarm. I had the 3 mini burgers, and they were super bland. No sauce or flavor other than BBQ sauce. The fries were equally devoid of taste. To the server's credit, she was very sweet and apologetic and did remove my husband's burger from the bill.
I too recently dined there, perhaps the same night as the vball person did. As there were an extreme amount of birthday songs going around the restaurant. I thought that was great, made my dining experience really fun. I loved how they got people into the spirit, and how the staff put smiles on the birthday boys/girls face. I found the service to be good, yes servers can be pre occupied at times, but they are busy. I would just remind them politely if I thought they forgot my drinks or extra fries, or whatever it might be. They are doing their job as good as they can, I for one would not want to do their job. Food as always was good, purely enjoyable.
I will most likely go there again, but its definitly not a place for people to go if they dont like hearing them sing birthday songs, its a family restaurant, everyone is having fun. Just get into it. If you have any problems on where you are seated, the servers are always willing to move you to a more comfortable suited spot. Again, this is a place for familys, and fun spirited people. Hooray to the staff!! you make it enjoyable for me.
