The Old Spaghetti Factory is a US based chain that originally opened its first restaurant in Canada in historic Gastown, downtown Vancouver. All entrees come complete with a crisp green salad, sourdough bread, coffee or tea, and spumoni ice cream at no additional charge.
We were quite skeptical about trying Old Spaghetti Factory after two "less than memorable" experiences at both the New West and Whistler locations, craving pasta (our usual Traditional Italian restaurant was closed for the evening) we decided to give it one more shot. Right off the bat my fiance and I were sat right next to a large table of children and babies (why do restaurants continue to do this....we understand if it is a busy evening, but there were many tables away from the crying infants) We were then served incredibly cold, stale bread. We ordered a bottle of Chianti, when the waitress brought the wine to our table and attempted to open it, both my fiance and I cringed, it was aparent she had never been taught how to properly serve a bottle of wine. The cork broke in half, which she left in the bottle on our table while she whisked away to find another server to help her get it out. We ended up opening the bottle ourselves.....Yikes! The salads were very average. My fiances tomato sauce was quite runny and my pesto linguini was dry and overcooked, I will say after sending it back it was much more acceptable the second time, but not wonderful. I don't think we'll be returning.....neat decor, but not enough to bring us back!
I've been going to the New westminster Old Spaghetti factory for the past 20 years. in the past year I've been dating a guy in Langley, so we go to Langley Spaghetti factory quite a bit. We love that we can go to dinner then go to a movie after, for a pretty good price. The food is pretty good, My favorite is the Manicotti, or Lasagna. I'm not too keen on the marinated mushrooms though, they taste like they're sour :S. In the past year I must say that I have met some good servers and bad ones, But I think my all time favorite is a server named Alisha. Everytime we go in there, She Always wears a big smile and is very prompt and patient with us, as my Fiance takes so long to order at times. Also she always makes sure we are finished and billed in time for us to catch our movie. Thank you and Keep up the good work OSF!!!
Been here many times. The parking is easy and the service is excellent, very friendly and caring staff.
The food is so-so, the sauces are a bit too sour for my taste, and served a bit cold. The ice-cream is good but the portions are getting smaller.
Good if you have time to dine out before catching a movie. The Olive Garden offers serious competition though.
This place is huge and its usually pretty full but we never wait too long to eat here. Lots of loaves of bread and then the steak is always cooked perfectly when i ask for medium rare. the value is great considering you get bread pasta, coffee and ice cream included in the price. The Manager Eric is always very responsive to helping the wait staff when theres a bit of extra need for service.
this restaurant is a good value for the price. The staff are friendly and management very accomodating.A good place for large groups.Richmeat sauce and Mizithra cheese is my favourite spaghetti combo. The fact that you get bread ,soup or salad ,entree, tea or coffee and ice cream included in the low price makes this an excellent place for students to eat out.
Had a chance to eat at the O.S.F. in Langley yesterday afternoon. We've tried in vain to have dinner there several times but it's usually very busy, as are all the major restaurants in the area. My side ceaser (upgrade) was wilting and had obviously been sitting since the night before, mains were mediocre at best with my chicken Parmesan reminding me of a lean cuisine dinner. Overall the best part of our lunch was the bread they served before the meal and the spumoni ice cream they served at the end. We had heard bad things about this restaurant from a friend but figured we'd give it a chance, but never again. Luckily we didn't have to wait in line to be seated, if we'd had come at night and had to wait the typical 45+ minutes we would have been really upset.
We came here to eat on a Saturday night. It was busy so I was glad we made reservations. The seating area is quite large and there are tables and booths. We were promptly greeted and seated within a few minutes.
The ambiance was nice, stained glass like decor and some older items around the seating area. We got a booth, which was quite comfortable.
Service was good, our waitress was really nice and she checked on how we were doing several times.
Food, I ordered the 3 sauce spaghetti and I was disappointed. The 3 sauces were separate, but the white sauce just doesn't seem to go with the other 2 red sauces.
Value is there, how can you go wrong with a meal, drink, icecream and bread for so cheap? I would go back for sure.
I've been to the Old Spaghetti Factory in New Westminster and Whistler a couple times before and it seemed like each time, it kept getting worse. But, this Langley experience was the icing on the cake. We were seated right next to the kitchen...and the entire night the chef kept yelling, shouting, on a consistent basis to the point where my boyfriend was shouting at me just so I could hear him. After 18 minutes, we finally got our drinks...and a nice loaf of bread. We ate that up, and was offered more, but we declined. Our food arrived shortly after, cold. I mean, stone, COLD. Not even luke warm. By this point, I got it packaged up so I could go home and heat it up in the microwave. We got our icecream and left. The only good thing about spaghetti factory, is you can eat lots, for cheap. You get bread, salad, main course and icecream from anywhere from 9 - 13 dollars. Other than that, it's terrible.
Was out for dinner with my significant other. Both times we went, the server was on the ball.
Quick to refill our drinks, constant asking as or consistently asking us how our food was.
Spot on service.
We are definitely returning.
Food is not way out of this world, I would say good but solid.
Everything was well done.
We really enjoyed it and thought the icecream/ tea and bread /soup are very good to have.
Was really great
