For me, Milestones is the go-to place for consistently good food and friendly, efficient service.
Tonight was no different. Our server was attentive and covered all of the bases. Our dinners were fresh, flavorful and visually appealing, which is no small feat considering I ordered meatloaf.
I do find the prices are a little high ($20 for meatloaf is a little steep no matter what), but it's great for birthdays etc. It definitely isn't fine dining, but it's a good choice for a mid-range restaurant. Yum!
We have been to Milestones three times within the past year. First experience in White Rock, BC. was great! We had the prime rib dip sandwich with yam fries. The meat in the sandwich was thinly sliced but thickly piled on the bread. The meat was pinkish, tender and moist with great flavor. The dipping broth was tasty and ample. It was so good we have tried the same item twice again.
Second time at the same location was okay but not outstanding. There was less meat in the sandwich and it was well done. It was not exceptional but we thought maybe it was an off day.
Today, in Langley, we were outright disappointed. The meat in the sandwich was less by about a third, was overdone and dry. The broth was thick and salty and did not last through the sandwich. We ordered a "crispy green salad" instead of fries, and received a salad that was absolutely wilted. There was a slice of yellow tomato on the top, but under that things were not okay. This is not a cheap eatery. By far we did not get value for the money.
Best part are the wait staff. Always appropriately friendly, very busy and helpful.
I will not recommend Milestones and would like to be able to directly address these issues with them. Have they changed hands?
It has been quite sometime since I'd been to Milestones, as my fiance is not a huge fan of their menu, so we decided to visit for a "girls lunch." Service was excellent, we were checked upon often, but not over served. Food arrived fairly quickly. I was really disapointed to see they had taken the awesome spinach and artichoke bread dish off the menu, it was one of my personal favorites, I always seem to find something great at Milestones, and upon my next visit the menu has changed, oh well! The Milestone's Garden Greens was a great salad, I loved the candied pecans and shaved Parmesan cheese. We gave the Baked Goat Cheese and Slow Roasted Garlic Flatbread a try, very good, a unique blend of dips / spreads, along with roasted garlic, delicious. Overall, a good experience at Milestones!
Two of us came for brunch on a Saturday morning. Not our first time here, and we've always liked it in the past. On this visit we had the Chicken Corn Hash and the Strawberry French Toast. Both were extremely tasty, well-thought-out creations. The service was friendly and polite from everyone; for example, the hostess commented on my sweatshirt, and the person who brought out our food stayed to make sure that we had everything that we needed.
Like many such chains, the interior is pleasant but not special. Items on the brunch menu are a little pricey (two breakfasts and 2 coffees came to $30), but are definitely not simple the same breakfast items that you'd get everywhere. I'll definitely be back when I want something a little bit different as a medium-upscale brunch.
This has to be one of the most boring places I've ever gone to. I was meeting a young lady there before we commence our evening and it was convinietly suggested. But whoa it is inferior to edgy and classy chains like Socialhouse or Earls. The food is over priced for the lame tastes they give you and you can tell that the server is forced to try and upsell everything. Sure I would order drinks at Socialhouse or Cactus Club, but here? No way. The waitess was boring looking, there were children eevrywhere and as I said the food had no taste. I know what i want, and how I want it! Don't try and change my order around!
I will never go back to this establishment. Forgettable service. I believe our server was on quota too abd she wasn't doing anything to deserve getting an order.
The food is good. Portions are decent. Location is easy. Service is always excellent. Case in point, the the new to the menu Bass came a little overdone. Dry not tender. The meal wasn't finished. The solution, a whole new meal. That's service! Good above average food great service. Thanks Milestone's
I have been a loyal Milestone's diner since it opened several years ago. However, since they changed their menu about 2 years ago, the food and service has gone downhill. I have had 5 bad restaurant experiences in my life, 4 of them at Milestone's in Langley. Last night was the last nail in the coffin for me. We arrived at 7pm on a Friday night to be seated almost immediately to our surprise. Ordered drinks which arrived promptly and an appetizer, which did take longer than normal considering it was chips and salsa, not that difficult to whip together. Then we proceeded to wait one and a half hours for salad and a burger. When my salad arrived they had forgotten to make the salmon for it and decided they weren't going to make it. The salad was also drenched in dressing. Completed unedible. Since it was almost 9 o'clock at that point I decided not to wait for a remake and left the restaurant. I will never go back to Milestone's again after this horrendous experience.
I went 01-29-07, service was really good, food was good, drinks were fine. I had the Chicken Pesto Fettucini, and Roasted Garlic Caesar Salad to start. Sadly, the pesto sauce here contains cream, pesto should never be creamy. But it did taste good anyway. I like this location and come here once a month or so...
I went to milestones again after my first review and was surprised that I liked the food a lot more. I had the spinach, tomato, and feta cappelini and it was pretty good. The portion was not huge, so I didn't sit there stuffing myself but after, I was finished the meal, I felt pleasantly content. The service this time around was alright. It was really slow again and the manager had to come talk to us, but I am one who does not really care for slow service. The waiter treated us fairly well also. The value at milestones is affordable and is a good place to eat for a family. I got my pasta for eleven dollars or something. Anyway, the ambiance is pleasant, the washrooms are nice, the booths are nice, and I am left thinking that this place isn't as bad as I thought.
After calling in to make a reservation on December 31, 2008 for dinner that evening, I was happy to get a table at such late notice for New Years Eve. When we arrived, it took awhile for anyone to pay attention to us, but we were finally seated. When we weere given the menus, we noticed that it was a limited 4 course selection menu. Neither my wife or I cared for any of the food on the menu, so we decided to leave and find another place for dinner. After checking a few more places, with no luck, I called Milestones to talk with the manager on duty. I told him what had happend, and that we were not told about the limited menu when we made the reservation. He told me that I was wrong, and that he had made sure everyone was told about it when the made a reservation. I again told him that I was not informed, and he became iritated with me. He told me it was not possible, as he had personally overseen all of the reservations that day and taken the calls himself. When I told him I talked to a female staff member when I called that day, he again told me that wasnt possible. After our call was over, I was very angry at the fact that he had called me a Liar...without calling me a Liar. I have been in the Hospitality industry for 9 years, and I know its never a good idea to call your customers Liars. I used to enjoy going to this Milestones for drinks and appies at night, but I will not be back.
We tried Milestone's earlier this week....was a very hot evening so we opted for the patio. After about 15 minutes, however, we found it very chilly because it's so heavily shaded. We asked our server if we could move inside, but she very kindly moved a table into the only sunny spot overlooking the parking lot. We were happy enough with this and ordered another drink. Our food was very slow in coming...maybe over an hour. We ordered kobe sliders, caesar salad and butternut squash ravioli. Evidently our order was lost and our server very apologically said that our food would be comped. Really nice gesture. My comments aren't towards the service at all, but with the food. I found it to be quite mediocre. The sliders were just okay..I love the ones at the Cloverdale casino...they're awesome. The caesar salad didn't even seem to be dressed...just romaine and parmesan. The butternut squash ravioli came with a marinara which tasted really tinny. I wouldn't go back, but I would like to commend our great server!
We eat here so often it really does feel like eating in our own home. The first time we ate here I was truly impressed with the burger I had ordered. It's easily the best, biggest, juiciest hamburger to be found anywhere around here, and is still a big part of the reason I keep coming back, nearly 8 years later.
The service is one of the first things I noticed. Prompt, friendly, and always full of helpful suggestions when we're undecided. We didn't wait forever for a server to notice our drinks needed refilling - we had the refill before we even needed to ask. At that time in Langley that kind of service was unheard of! We liked it. And it kept us coming back time and time again. More than once we walked out of other restaurants that offered no service at all and found ourselves here. Admittedly, as with anywhere you go all the time, there will be up days and down days. But even on their worst days, the staff is unfailingly friendly and the food is always delicious.
If I had a complaint about Milestone's it would be that the menu is somewhat uninspired and doesn't change very often. Fortunately their seasonal specials make up for that most of the time. Now if they could just get their bartender to learn how to make a Mojito...
Overall - a lovely place to spend a couple of hours in the company of good friends and family while having something tasty to eat, whether it's a burger, steak or their fabulous flame-grilled prawns. Just go!
p.s. guys - I still miss the Chicken Reggiano.
The first time(not my first time but for the purpose of my story) i attempted to eat here i called ahead and was told to show up in 35 minutes so i did, i was then told it was a 49 minute wait so i waited. After over an hour I asked how much longer and was told 20 minutes so i waited patiently anticiapting some great food and bellini's. An hour and 40 minutes after i arrived i again asked how long and was told that 8 people were in front of me still, when i complained I was told they were call aheads when i told her that i as well was a call ahead I was ignored.
I did complain via email and recieved $50 in gift certificates so i returned a second time. No ridiculous wait this time and after we had eaten someone who works there came and told me that my chicken was under-cooked and it would be taken of the bill ( It was a little under-cooked but i did not say anything). For the price you pay for the food here i dont think its to much to expect it to be cooked properly.
Not sure if I will ever return.
We have been to Milestones on a number of occasions, this location and others. My feeling is that the Langley location is just ok and that both the service and food often are a let down.
On this occasion my wife had the Curry Chicken bowl, which she liked. I had the Thai chicken drumettes, which I had often enjoyed but this time they were awful. Seven small chicken wing pieces with lots of batter and very little chicken.
We had a margherita to drink and it was pretty lousy. We are in no rush to go back.
i went to milestone's langley expecting a decnet night out with a decent dinner , nice ambience, cool enviroment and a few cocktails, what i got was anything but. my girlfriend and i had the wrong food brought out to us and by the time it came out we had already been there an hour. we asked for it packed up because we were going to see a movie at colossus up the road. Fast forward to the next day and i am opening up the leftovers and... tadaaaa not even the meal i had ordered. i called in and "eva" the manager said there was nothing she could do about it because i was no longer in the restaurant??? i was like ok can i have head offices number please? she then said "there is nothing i can do for you, goodbye" and HUNG UP. Wow the nerve. i def will not go back. i got a hold of head office and got compensated. but i will never go there again as long as she is running the ship
My husband and I went for a date. We decided to go to the Milestones in Langley. What a great choice. We only waited about 15 mins, and the hostess gave us a card for a free appetizer. Which i thought was a pretty nice 'perk'. My whole review is based on the service that we received, starting from the moment we went in to the restaurant to when we left.
Our server was amazing, knowledgeable and friendly, it was the best service we have experienced in a very long time. The ambiance was cozy and intimate. We ate good food and had awesome drinks. The prices werent over -rated, which was a nice change. We had an awesome experience and we look forward to going back and making sure we have the same waiter.
