Langley Vietnamese Cuisine is a restaurant specializing in Vietnamese cuisine including pho noodle soup.
This is without a doubt the best Phở you can get in the lower mainland, out side of this area I haven't explored. Their broth is not cloudy, it is rich and flavorful. I usually get the rare beef and well done brisket (#13) and there is more than enough meat every time. And I usually end up ordering their pork wontons (#27) which are always fantastic. With your Phở you get a little dipping sauce for the meat which I find only a few Phở places offer, its an excellent touch on their part. Some people may complain about the decor or the cleanliness but I see them running around cleaning tables and have never had a problem with it. These people rock and they deserve every bit of business they get, give them a try and you wont be disappointed!
Everything was great until I actually tried the food. The food came quickly and it looked and was presented nicely, but the soup tasted disgusting! I'm a pho conasour, an Ive had the certain kind I tried at severel other places and it was delicious but at this resteraunt the pho or atleast the spicy sour soup was really gross.
I was told that this place had the best Pho soup in the lower mainland by someone who drives from White Rock to get it. I usually go to another place fairly close to this one so have been wanting to try it. Went Saturday night. The place was large and fairly full. Staff was attentive but not terribly helpful with menu. I wanted Pho soup without meat and there was only one choice "plain" so I had that. Bland would best describe it - a bowl with a thin broth, smallist noodles, and green onions with bean sprouts, peppers, and sauce on the side. The other place has better noodles, taster broth, big chunks of tofu and more choice of side dishes. The shrimp rolls here were very inpressive. The spring rolls boring. Tea was even weak. I don't think I will go back.
The pho is always great, for people that comment on it being salty, well, its suppose to be salty... Salad rolls is above average...Yes the washroom isn't the greatest, but are we there for the washroom or food. Service has been good, its a family run place! If you want great service you won''t be paying 5-10 bucks for a meal.
We've been to this restaurant a few times now, and it's always been consistently good. We love their spring rolls, and the shredded pork/spring roll plate is delicious. The pork is skewer is good as well, and my boyfriend has had all types of beef Pho and enjoys them all.. They also offer some Japanese dishes which makes our son happy.
Service is lacking like with many Pho places I've been to, but still they are there when you need them.
I have to agree with the comment about cleanliness in the washroom; I noticed a few hairs and stuff on the women's washroom floor and this was first thing this morning: the washroom should've been clean!
Either way, we love Pho and this place delivers! We will go back again.
There's a reason why stereotypes exist! Langley Vietnamese Cuisine is one of the most disgusting restaurants I've ever visited.
We were seated at the front and near the windows. Our experience didn't start well as the walls were coated with food smears and unknown substances. In addition, there was dirt ridden all over the place, including the floors and worn out carpets.
A big turn off was the third-world washroom straight out of a slum from Ho-Cho-Minh city. What a dump!
Service was non-existent. This family run business was run by people who were pretty rude and lacked any notion of customer service. In addition, the Food was bland and not worth a 2nd visit. The ambiance was lackluster at best. It reminds me of a cheap B-Movie.
There are other Vietnamese restaurants in Langley that's worth our time and money. Easily forgettable and not worth a 2nd visit.
A friend recommended this place to us and we've been going there ever since. The pork skewers are really tasty and flavoured really well. The spring rolls and salad rolls are good too. The soup for the Pho isn't always consistent though so sometimes it's a little sweet, other times it's a little salty. The decor isn't special with lots of plastic plants and things but it's clean and the food comes pretty quickly so it's a good place if you just want to eat good Vietnamese food without paying for the extras.
I used to live close by so I would visit very often, but now that I live downtown I always get cravings for their pho. =( but its always one of the first places I visit when I go back to langley! this is honestly the best pho I've ever had, and i've had a lot of pho!! their broth is like no other.. but I must admit the portion sizes have gone down over the last few years. its still great though. the salad and spring rolls are also delicious. they give you this sauce with the bean sprouts, and I don't know WHAT it is but its sooo addictive and great for dipping meat into.
the restaurant itself is pretty large and a lot cleaner and less shabby than what you typically expect from a pho place. I think its a family owned place. they are really friendly =)
in fact, I am going here tonight. muahaha.
