Kostas serves authentic, home style Greek cuisine. Enjoy live music and belly dancing on the weekends.
My husband and I went for diner at Kostas mid week and had such a great experience. The tzatziki was incredible and calamari was fresh, crisp and not greasy. It had a nice and relaxing ambiance with really great service. They frequently have specials on dinner buy one entree and two drinks get a second entree free. Next time we go we will try one of the platters, it had a variety of difference greek food that we both wanted to try.Overall I was impressed and will return in the near future.
My husband and I recently moved to the Langley area, and we both LOVE greek food. We were happy to find Kosta's Greek restaurant this past weekend.
We were greeted right away by our server, and she was quick to grab our drink orders and offer suggestions for appetizers. We decided to have a saganaki as per her suggestion and some calamari. The calamari came with the most incredible tasting tatziki. We ended up ordering an additional large size to have as extra throughout our meal. The saganaki was breaded goat cheese and we had the option of having it lit. We decided that flamable foods were not the best idea for us. I had the spanikopita dinner. I could tell it was made fresh! The spinach and feta were delicious, it also had a generous portion of rice which is one of my favourite staple and roasted potatoes.
My husband ordered the ribs, which the server later offered a choice of either BBQ or Greek. We opted for the Greek dry rub and it was fantasitc! Between our appitizers and meal our server brought out greek salad and pita bread, the greek salad had a really nice tangy dressing.
For dessert, we shared a cheesecake. Again, this was recommended by the server and it was delicious. When the server came to check on us and refill our coffees, she mentioned that the owner herself makes the cheesecake from scratch!
We decided that we were going to spend New years eve there and purchsed tickets that night!
Next time we go we will try one of the platters the table next to us had ordered, as it had a variety of difference greek fpods that we both wanted to try.
We will definitely be coming back soon!
Never been to a more pathetic "greek" restaurant in my life. Food is bad, service is waterer and ambiance is one of the owners playing some weird guitar trying to distract people from the tasteless meal. I saw several people using discount coupons during our meal. bad restaurant
DISLIKE Kostas Greek restaurant!!
The owner was so RUDE! She came to our table after I presented an Entertainment coupon, to tell me, rudely, that "you created the problem" (didn't even know there was a problem) when we ordered the specials ($15.95) and presented an Entertainment coupon for a $12 discount. She said she'd have to charge me the regular price for each meal ($18.95). She brought back a new bill with the 2 meals @ $18.95 each. So they made an extra $6 and lost 2 customers for life.
The food was very average. Greasy and swimming in oil. Greek salad + 1 olive each. The chicken was pretty good.
The plastic table covers were greasy. The restaurant really needs a scrubbing.
My adult son and I will never be back and I'll pass my experience with this owner to all my social media friends. As I arrange company parties...I will definitely not bring our business to this restaurant. The owner will never be able to measure how much she has lost be treating a customer like she did. You get - what you give, lady.
Second time we went to this restaurant and the second time we have been very disappointed. There will not be a third time. Bread was delivered with nothing on it (should it be lightly coated with olive oil?) and no sauce to dip it in, the Greek salad had no seasoning at all just loaded with olive oil (we ended up dipping our bread into the salad bowl), the rice and potatos had no flavour (could have been Uncle Ben's). The only decent items were the chicken and lamb which were cooked just right. Even when I let the know how disappointed we were, the employee seemed to think it was ok that the meat was cooked properly then he changed the subject. The price of the meals added insult to injury.
This place gets voted as the best Greek restaurant in Langley year after year is a joke as far as we are concerned. I've had better Greek at the mall.
Last Saturday we pulled into Kostas hoping for a quick dinner before going to catch a show - we got here around 7:30 and the place was hopping - luckily the hostess was able to get us a table and advised our server we were in a hurry. Well... as we were sipping our martinis - the lights dimmed and out came a belly dancer - what a great surprise - you could see the whole restaraunt getting into the show. Regardless - we missed our movie as we were having such a great time there! They have a dance floor and great live music. Our food (Roast Lamb and Combination Souvlaki) was fantastic - the drinks were great and our waitress was the nicest I've encountered in a LONG time - we loved everything about the place - we'll be going back soon!!!
I would no suggest this restaurant to anyone. The service was horrible. First off, once we were sat at a table we had to wait at least 10 minutes before anyone came and took our drink order. The restraurant was not entirely slow, but it was by no means full, and on a quick count there was 5 if not 6 people working that night. The service was so slow and utterly disorganized that a couple that was sat in our section after us had their order taken, ate their meal and paid their bill and left before we even had received our food.
We asked to speak to a manger because by this time we had been waiting at least 35 minutes for our food. Once the manager did arrive they asked us "What did you order that was so hard for the kitchen to cook" and then proceeded to tell us that there was nothing wrong with the food and that we just had to wait.
The food we ordered was Calamari, Dry Ribs, and a Chicken Souvlaki dinner. Doesnt seem too difficult to me being that these items are on their menu. Now, to top the night off, Kostas was only offering a limited menu being that it was Valentines Day. Furthermore, some of the menu item prices were dramatically increased, and some were further limited from their usual everyday menu. If you go to Kostas website and look at their menus it says that the Calamari appetizer comes with pita bread and tzatziki for $8.95. The night in question. $8.95 no pita bread. Dry Ribs were on special for $8.95. Most restaurants I have been to this price is the norm.
As an everyday meal, you can get the Chicken Souvlaki for 15.95 plus taxes. On this night the exact same meal was $18.95...
You be the judge!
Hubby and I went for an early supper on a Wednesday night. We had read about the calamari, and dang if it wasn't one of the specials that night. So we ordered a calamari dinner and a roast lamb dinner.
Calamari was really very good, tender and crispy without being greasy. The roast potatoes were nicely different.. they were red-skinned potatoes with the skin still on. Really good. The rest of the meal was standard, and the onions in the greek salad were quite hot.
We were there just before six, and the place had a few diners already seated. Even though there were lots of empty tables, they sat us beside a family with a restless toddler. I realize families are entitled to go out to eat, but there were other tables and we could have been spared the parenting 101 flashbacks.
Actually, it is not just the best Greek food in Langley, it is the best I have ever tried (and trust me; I know and love my Greek food!). I have been enjoying Kostas food for almost 6 years now, and every time I eat in or take out I am glad I did! The service is always efficient and friendly; I couldn’t say a negative word about this place!!
I always start with the Humus -- I don’t know what they put in it but it is one notch above average humus!! I usually also get the Roast lamb but have tried (and loved) the Mousaka, chicken and lamb Souvlaki's, the Steak and the Pasta's!! mmmm! Oh and the prawns are divine!! With regards to the price I find them very fair and they always seem to have a good special. The take out specials are an awesome value! And let’s not forget -- we get what we pay for. Yes; I have had cheaper Greek food but it was far lower quality, full of grease and no-where near as tasty!
With small family owned restaurants a seemingly dying breed Kostas is a breath of fresh air! It is loved by me and all my friends and family --- try it -- you won’t be disappointed!
Our experience at Kostas was most enjoyable. Starting with the Saganaki and Calamari appetizers - which were mouthwatering - and then moving onto the famous Hellenic Platter which let us enjoy the finest Greek specialties offered. We had trouble deciding which platter to get as all three are of great value for your money - it even comes with Dessert!. The best part of the meal was the Mousaka and Roast Lamb - Superb!!! Along with the great service and atmosphere - you enjoy fine Greek Music and a professional belly dancer. It is just a full night out with no imperfections! Thank you Kostas Greek Restaurant for being so amazing and for also offering and selling Langley's finest wine!!!
So I was reading up on all the langley reviews for greek restaurants in the langley area, where i have recently moved to from North Van. On the evening of our family gathering we had decided to call Kostas to make reservations. And it was the greatest dining experience, with great entertainment (belly dancing and live music), we were blown away by their authentic greek dishes offered and great service. We have decided to make Kostas our one and only choice of restaruant. We even call them for delivery during the weekdays as their service and food are outstanding:)
We dined at Kostas for lunch recently and quite enjoyed it. We both ordered the Spanakopita lunch entree, delicious. The roasted potatos and greek salads were awesome, I do agree with the previous review about the rice, a little overcooked and bland, will probably ask for more greek salad instead of rice next time we visit, but over all very good. Service was excellent and the decor was quite typical of any greek restaurant.
We went at 730pm without a reservation and immediately got the last table in the very busy restaurant. We were served promptly by a friendly pleasant young woman. She was very nice and gave us the time we requested to make our selections. We had the Hellenic platter for two and easily made a few changes as we are not fond of lamb, no problems. The calimari was lovely and tender and perfectly battered and trust me we are very picky about our squid. The roast potatoes were probably the best I've ever had. All the food was very nice. The live music was well done and very much on tune. When the belly dancer came the music did get louder and it was hard to talk but the show was good and makes the dining experience authentic, it quieted down after her dance was over. The thing that impressed me the most where the servers. It was a very busy and full place and they never slowed down, but they where very polite and respectful to each other. This added so much to our dining experience, making it so enjoyable, we will definitely be back! Thanks Kostos
Visited on October 30, 2009 and the food and service were excellent.
There were 6 people in our group and the server never made us feel rushed and was very attentive. The place was BUSY but we never felt anything but well treated.
The power even went out at the end of dinner (wind and rain storm) and even then we were served tea and coffee and not rushed out.
Great dinner and time overall; thank you. We will be back for sure.
We went to Kosta since we have been there before. The place was very busy due to Christmas parties but we were seated right away. Service was good.
Dining at a greek restaurant I ordered roast lamb and my other half ordered new york steak. We enjoyed the salad. The lamb was so dry and so tasteless. Needless to say I was so disappointed. Greek restaurant usually have tzatziki
with lamb. Mine never came with but the other steak dinner did. The new york steak doesn't need it so he gave me his. Like I said the meat was so dry even with the tzatziki didn't help the situation any.Paying 17.95 for the dinner was ridicious. Most places are more like 13.95 for the same thing.I asked for more tzatsiki sauce which I figure I eat a little more. When we got our bill they charged $1 for the extra sauce. I don't usually mind paying for something but that is pretty cheap on their part.
Won't be back there again. It was one of my favorite places for greek.
Kostas was our favourite restaurant. We live one block a day and used to spend at least $60 there every weekend for 2. However, after tonight's experience, we will never be back. This is the 2nd time we have received poor service from Kostas and it is unacceptable. The first time, we did not receive even a glass of water for 45 minutes as they were too busy serving some large party. Tonight, we phoned for a 5:30pm reservation. I called back at 4:30pm, asking if I could change the reservation (for 2!) to 6pm.
I was told, "No. We only have 5:30pm, not 6pm, and you have to leave by 6:30pm anyways". Sorry, I'm making a 6pm reservation at another restaurant and you will never see us at Kostas again.
Pretty insulting. Too bad, since the roast lamb is so great.
I have never eaten in at this restuarant but I do order for delivery of roast lamb dinner. Absolutely divine! The best in Langley. It comes hot, fairly quickly, and plentiful. Have accidentally ordered this dinner from a different local restuarant and actually had to return it because the comparison between them and Kostas was non exsistant. Will continue to enjoy this specialty for years to come.
I went online looking for a nice greek restaurant to dine at with my girlfriends. I checked out dinehere.ca and came upon this greek restaurant. The reviews were okay ..there were a few bad reviews..but my girlfriends and i thought we'd give it a chance and check the place out.
My girlfriends and I were very dissapointed with the service at Kosta's Greek Restaurant. We ordered Martinis and I waited for my drink for an exact 9 mins. I was tired of waiting and asked to have my drink cancelled as it was not even up at the bar yet. My waitress still brought me my drink over and when i had told her that i had cancelled it..she said "No..you cant"
I was in shock.
One of my girlfriend wasnt that hungry and she ordered a small greek salad, while the rest of us ordered soulvaki platters. When our food arrived my girlfriend that odered the salad decided to try some of my food from my pate. She asked the waitress for an extra plate and was given the same. Our drinks werent filled and we werent asked if we were doing okay. The waitress seemed more interested in chatting with the other employees at the bar. When we got our bill we saw that we were charged $7 extra for basically asking for a plate. When we approached the waitress (in a calm manner) to ask about this charge..she stated "you two shared your food so there is a fee of $7." The waitress had a very bad attitude and treated us very poorly. I was acutally quite shocked. If we are going to be charged extra money for taking a few bites off someone elses plate..then we should have been told about this charge. Maybe we would have just ordered another platter. The waitress was waving her hands around and caused a big scene. It was ridiculous. I will never visit this place again and neither will my friends. If you are thinking of trying this restaurant out..pls..look around the area and find another one to visit.
Visited on a Tuesay night. An older woman finally seated us after walking past us at the door several times.
I must say I was disappointed in my roast lamb. My wife's souvlaki was okay but by no means fantastic. They had this strange music playing with animal noises in it. Our server was friendly but didn't ask what we thought of our food. The experience was disappointing. We enjoy tasty, authentic Greek food and this place doesn't seem to povide it.
We had take out from kosta's tonight, so I can only comment on the food, not so much the service or restaurant. The food was outstanding!! We had chicken and lamb souvlaki. Everything was very moist and flavorful, and full of garlic. By far one of the best greek food experiences I have had in vancouver.
