The cooks always great you as you come in and as you leave. Every time. Without fail. I read where at least one other person mentioned slow service. I'd agree. Not many staff and on weekend nights and a few other nights when their restaurant is full, they are pretty much past reasonable serving capacity in my opinion. Example would be tonight, a saturday night at 6:30, I figured I'd be smart and call ahead with my order. It was a small, simple order (4 standard rolls, one tempura) and they said 40 minutes before I could pick it up. I must admit, I know of no other Sushii restaurant that takes that long for a simple pickup order. I've eaten in the restaurant and when it's busy, they just cannot keep up. Servers or cooks. But, as long as you know that and prepare for it, I do find the food the best sushi on the North side of the highway in Langley. And their Caterpillar roll is simply wonderful. I like sushi restaurants that give you lots of raw fish when you order sushi or nigiri. These guys always do. So yeah, I'd recommend it and I continue to go there.
I went here to grab a quick bite on my lunch break. I ordered the teriyaki lunch box. I was extremely disappointed. Probably the worst sushi I have ever eaten. The miso soup was flavorless, and the teriyaki chicken had bones in it. Not to mention that the chef was sneezing and blowing his nose all over the restaurant, without washing his hands, or covering his mouth. It was such a waste of money. It cost me over 11 dollars for this meal, and for someone on a budget that doesn’t get to eat out that much, this is a lot of money. Not only have I wasted my money, I am still hungry. After biting into the bone of the chicken, I didn't even bother giving the rest of the meal a chance. I threw it away, and warned my office never to go there. Hopefully I do not get food poisoning. Have a great day everybody.
I have been going to Japan Sushi for more than a year for their excellent sushi. The food had always been outstanding, but the service was always slow... It didn't matter, as the food was so good.
On Tuesday night, I went with a friend for some sushi. I ordered one of their special roll, an expensive one. The presentation was awesome, BUT the tuna was frozen. And when I say frozen, it was hard!!!
I told the waitress, who offered me to change my roll. When I asked if the fish will be frozen, she answered yes, because they were near their closed time... at 10pm?!?
I was so disappointed by their absent customer service, that I won't go back. Don't go there at night!!!
Japan Sushi is a favourite of our family. The dishes are consistently top quality and the service is always friendly. The sashimi practically melts in your mouth and the Calamari rolls are wonderful. The bluesy background music above the friendly banter of the cooks and serving staff give it an ambience which makes it unique amid the masses of Sushi restaurants.
